England: UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has noted the earliest date for non-essential travel will be May 17, but warns that the ban on foreign travel may remain for longer. Travelers that have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks are welcome in Belize with their official vaccine card in hand. Those not yet vaccinated can arrive with a negative Covid-19 test taken within 96 hours of travel to Belize. If no test is presented, a Covid-19 test will be given at the airport for $50. Accommodations and tours must be booked only with those certified by the Tourism Gold program, and our Zicasso travel specialists can assist. This week, Croatia announced that those with a vaccination card indicating they are fully vaccinated may enter without a negative Covid-19 test. If not yet vaccinated, a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours from the time of the test to arrival or a negative rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours, but if staying longer than 10 days must repeat the test. Covid-19 tests are available for those needing a test to return to their home country.

Ecuador & The Galapagos Islands

Vaccinated travelers can now enter Ecuador with their card indicating full protection against Covid-19. Those travelers without vaccination must present a negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours before arrival, and children under ages two years old are exempt. Any person who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 with more than one month from the dates of onset of symptoms and continues to present a positive test, as long as there are no symptoms, can present a medical certificate issued in the country of origin that guarantees the traveler’s health.

Should a traveler arrive to Ecuador with a high temperature or a symptom related to Covid-19 (regardless of their negative test) will be directed to isolation and then to the nearest medical facility for clinical evaluation. A rapid antigen test will be carried out (at the traveler’s cost), and if it is positive, isolation for ten days is mandatory. Non-resident travelers will be isolated at a hotel regulated by the Ministries of Tourism and Government.

Additional entry requirements for the Galapagos Islands require a negative Covid-19 test taken within 96 hours of arrival to the region.

Proof of a negative COVID-19 test completed within seven days before traveling to Zambia is required for entry, though most airlines will require a test within 72 hours.
