We had a fabulous time. It was one of our all-time favorite trips. The places recommended and chosen by Zicasso’s planner and her company were perfect for us and covered well the varied interests of three people. She did an outstanding job and was very knowledgeable, sensitive to what we wanted, and responsive. She was also a genuinely friendly, warm, and wise person.

Japan was utterly fascinating and wonderful to experience. It is a perfect travel destination for Americans. It is just like here – busy, modern, technologically advanced, affluent, sophisticated, except everything is different.

Our guides were just wonderful and we learned so much from listening to and talking with them. They were very charming, very intelligent people who were very sweet to us. They, in their personalities, kindness, and knowledge, were a major part of the trip. I really could spend the rest of the review telling you about how wonderful they were and how they extended themselves for us – perfect guides who became friends.

Zicasso's travel partner put together a very thorough itinerary, which encompassed everything we wished to see and do in Japan, all in two months!

We really liked the fact that our agent was based in Japan. We felt like it would be nice to be able to contact an agency in the same time zone in case of any issues. After discussing what we were interested in, they crafted a wonderful itinerary that gave us a great introduction to this beautiful country and the culture. All the details were well thought of, like getting us seats on the Shinkansen where we could put our luggage behind us and on the side, where we were able to see Mount Fuji. It made our travel stress-free!

All of the accommodations and transportation were well appointed. It was nice to have transportation ready for us to be picked up instead of waiting at a taxi line.

Everything was on time and seamless. We loved every single one of our guides, who patiently explained traditions and provided the history of every place we visited. They were also very accommodating with our requests. We loved all the places they took us for lunch. It gave us a taste of each of the regions we visited.

Our agent also booked my birthday dinner at a fantastic restaurant in Kyoto. We had an amazing view of the pagoda at the nearby temple.

We felt very well taken care of throughout our entire trip! Don’t hesitate to book!

Our trip to Japan can be summed up in one word… perfect. We saw the things we wanted to see and were introduced to things we had no idea existed, all because of the careful planning by Zicasso’s travel company and the guides they use.

Zicasso’s travel agent designed a unique and unforgettably fantastic trip for us to Japan. Her attention to detail was amazing. She completely listened to our wants and needs, and arranged for us to stay in great hotels, with superb guides in every city. And she actively followed up with our tour guides daily to see how we were doing and to give personalized instructions to the next tour guide. Somehow, she even got us a personal audience with a geisha-in-training (“maiko”), something our experienced tour guide had never had the privilege to do before.

We had a bunch of questions as we prepared for the trip and during the trip, and she always responded with impressive speed and great answers. We could not be happier with the service and value provided by Zicasso’s travel company. Thank you to our agent!

The trip was fantastic, and Zicasso’s travel company did a great job setting up all of the tours and arrangements, including the transit cards, train tickets, and Wi-Fi device.

We had an excellent experience dealing with Zicasso’s tour operator. He arranged great hotels, especially a wonderful ryokan in Takayama, which was the highlight of our two-week trip. All of the hotels were conveniently located near train stations, which made movement very convenient.

Our travel agent arranged local assistants to help us figure out the somewhat bewildering process of using the trains in Japan, so that was a big help.

The sightseeing was terrific, with local guides at each location, all of whom were very well informed of what we were visiting. In some cases, the guides' English was not as good as we would have liked, but we were able to understand what they were trying to tell us with patience and perseverance by all parties.

I especially appreciated that our tour operator and all of his local people were able to improvise at the last minute to accommodate my wife's unanticipated mobility problem that arose halfway through our trip. They scrambled and found rental wheelchairs, special help in the train stations, hotels, and airports, and while sightseeing. All was handled with grace and professionalism, and made the second half of our trip enjoyable when it could have been otherwise.

Our family of four traveled to Japan, visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Hakone area. The Zicasso travel agency put together great properties. We loved the locations of each and their amenities. We had excellent seats on the bullet train. Our driver and tour guide in Kyoto were outstanding!

We felt there was definitely a communication misstep with our plans for Tokyo however. Our driver/guide was very lovely, but not very definitive on what we were doing each day. We felt we had communicated with the driver and the travel company as to what we wanted to do, but for example, when we went to do our food tour of Tokyo, it was paired with a visit to the fish market. We asked if the food tour was after the market, to which our guide said yes. However, about two hours into the fish market we realized that was his idea of the food tour. There was no specific plan of what we were to try and no explanation of the items. Instead, we walked around and bought a few things we wanted to try. We shared everything as we were saving room for the food tour that really never happened. It was frustrating as we felt our guide was more of a driver and less of a guide. Communication was definitely a factor, which is why we hired the travel agency.
