We had an amazing safari organized by this travel agency. We worked with this travel planner who is very enthusiastic and personable and has a great understanding of the region. We selected this company because she was proactive about making suggestions beyond our initial ideas and very responsive to my communications. I must have changed the itinerary 3 or 4 times and she was always ready to talk through the options with us. I am not used to working through an agent, usually booking things myself, but since we had never been on safari before it was great to learn from her experience. She suggested we add Zimbabwe to our itinerary and it was one of the highlights. Three countries in 10 days - all with African Bush Camps- sounds hectic but things were generally very well organized, including the border crossings, and apart from some small miscommunications with staff about what was included and excluded in the price we had no problems. I appreciate that our planner let the camp hosts know it was a special occasion and in each place we were treated to romantic extras. It made it that much more memorable.Show More
We have travelled all over the world and Tehsin planned the most exciting and seamless adventure we have ever been on. Planning with Tehsin was a pleasure. He listened to where we wanted to go (Kenya and Tanzania), how much we wanted to spend, the quality of the places we wanted to stay and how long we wanted to be away. He quickly came back with an excellent itinerary, and he and I tinkered with it endlessly until it was perfect. There was no upselling, no pressure, just a real desire to work with us to build our dream vacation. The trip itself was magnificent, beautiful tent camps, warm and welcoming staff, excellent guides, delicious food and more animal sightings then we could have possibly hoped for. While Covid made traveling more difficult Tehsin arranged for Covid testing when needed and he made sure that when we had a complicated travel day, that we and our bags were taken care of every step of the way. He was always instantly available by email if we ran into any snags along the way. Ending the safari with a 4 day stay at a gorgeous resort in Zanzibar was icing on the cake. I would give the company my highest recommendation. If you are thinking of traveling to this part of the world, run, don't walk to this travel agency.Show More
This past November, I took a solo trip to Rwanda to trek mountain gorillas - it was amazing!!Jessica was simply outstanding in crafting an itinerary that ended up giving me memories for a lifetime - and also knocking another one off the bucket list! My trip to Rwanda was the 45th visited country by me but where I usually handle my own reservations and itinerary build, I found that going into Africa really requires some dedicated expertise - Jessica is exactly that, an expert!! I couldn’t have done this trip without her. She thought of everything and created an itinerary that was a good mix of adventure, culture and history and relaxation.I stayed at a lodge which was an outstanding base for going mountain gorilla trekking. The level of service was amazing. The food and views/scenery was also excellent. On top of that, the staff was very friendly and took great care of me. I did a guided village walk and had some great downtime to recharge!Obviously, gorilla trekking was the major highlight and there are no words to explain how outstanding that experience was. Only two others in my group and the total 5 hour experience from beginning to end was seamless, easy and memorable.Show More
Kirsty is by far the best travel agent with whom I have worked! She planned a fantastic itinerary and was helpful before and during our trip. Navigating changing Covid protocols, delayed flights, and other hiccups she kept us on track. Anytime we ran into an issue she said "Don't worry, I'll sort it out, have fun!" We felt very safe and secure. Our trip was excellent - the attention to detail was great - we saw the things we hoped to see and met fantastic people along the way at the lovely lodges. Excellent service.Show More
Cannot say enough good things. 5++. Originally I had thought about ending our safari time with a trip to Madagascar, but our travel planner steered us to Zanzibar and that turned out great. When we arrived at Arusha, our greeter met us at the plane doors at the top of the stairs. My wife was having some balance issues, so he helped her down the stairway and commandeered a wheelchair for her. He whisked us through the three health stations and helped retrieve our luggage before we met our driver who sped us off to a coffee lodge. We stayed were a couple of days to accustom ourselves to the time change. Our travel planner saw that we had the cabin closest to the restaurant. They communicated those instructions to the other lodges as well, so my wife didn’t have far to walk to our lodgings. All of the properties we used as safari bases were wonderful. The levels of service were outstanding – the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great time. Our travel planner had arranged for the same driver/guide to accompany us for the first three lodges. Ali was terrific in adjusting the touring to fit us and in finding game. Besides the usual big five and grazers, we spotted cheetah on the hunt, a python crossing the road, and flamingos (as well as countless other birds). Our favourite of the safari lodges was near the Ngorongoro Crater. Every night we had a fire in the fireplace. After daily safari outings, there was a hot bubble bath with flower petals waiting in the claw-foot tub, and sweet & savoury snacks. The dinners were white table cloth affairs with top-notch cuisine. Our internal flights were well managed. No major snafus. When we arrived at our Serengeti lodge, the welcome was even warmer. We really enjoyed sundowners on the upper terrace, even when a serval jumped on our table and helped himself to a chicken wing. Besides seeing the wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River (until the crocs brought one down), a leopard and her two cubs, and a lioness and her four cubs, we finally were lucky enough to see and touch a pangolin. That’s been on my list for a long time. Our final stop on Zanzibar was like a trip to paradise. Every morning we called our butler and let him know what to bring to our sitting room for breakfast. Our bedroom overlooked the Indian Ocean and one of our two plunge pools. We mainly relaxed for five glorious days. Our travel planner had even arranged for a doctor to come and administer our COVID tests in our room so we didn’t need to make the 45 minute journey to the nearest clinic. Usually my wife is ready to return home near the end of a long vacation, but on this trip she agreed that we could stay another week – no problem. If we return to Africa for a fourth safari, we definitely will be calling Danni and Karen .Danni and Karen are a great team.Show More
This was truly a trip of a lifetime. My wife and I have been wanting to go to South Africa for years and we finally did it amidst much uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was worth every second and that is because of Natalie, our travel specialist. She was absolutely spectacular. We worked with her for over a year planning this trip through several changes and she was there every step of the way. Even when we got to South Africa, we were able to contact her to make changes and additions to our itinerary and she was always pleasant and available. We must have gone through 20 different itineraries, but the one we landed on was absolutely spectacular. There aren't enough wonderful things to say about her. From the first call to now, she's been wonderful and I'd recommend her for any trip to the absolutely breathtaking country of South Africa and beyond. The people across the board were so wonderful. From drivers to hotel staff to housekeeping and cooking. All were amazing and the food we ate throughout our trip was to die for.As for traveling during COVID-19, it was a very positive experience. We were tested 72 hours ahead in the US and received our tests in plenty of time to print them and bring them to the airport. In South Africa, we waited a little less than an hour for a test ahead of our return flight home, but it was an easy process and the results were promptly received. From mask-wearing to hand sanitizer, everything was expected, but hardly impacted our experience.Thank you again for everything!Show More
Our travel designers at this travel company sent us on a incredible Safari tour of Kenya and Tanzania. All the places we stayed were awesome and we were able to relax and enjoy so many of the wonders of East Africa! All of our transfers were handled seamlessly and we even made it through many rounds of covid testing thanks to the designers. The wildlife we saw was beyond our wildest dreams because of great guides and the excellent service. Meals were lovely ol and really fine dining experiences.Show More

African Travel Agent Review: Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lower Zambezi, Victoria Falls, 18-Day Wildlife Safari Tour
This Africa travel company provided excellent communication, recommendations, and service from our initial contact through a follow-up post-trip. We originally booked this trip in 2019 for 2020 prior to the onset of Covid, which led to many uncertainties and changes until it was finally executed in 2021. Canceled flights and changes by a Zambia carrier proved to be challenging for all, but our travel company was monitoring this and took immediate action to resolve connections and lodging issues with each change. Flights going and coming from Africa were not full and the same was true for many internal flights. The exception was for the Zambia flights so one might presume that a canceled flight today would mean a fuller flight tomorrow. The actual execution of our trip went off perfectly and we were very pleased. We felt we were in great hands and well supported if there had been flight issues etc. while en route.
This was our third trip to Africa and we've been on safari for all three. This trip was well organized and there were many transfers and flights involving four different countries in Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). At this time, each border crossing required a PCR test for Covid, so our travel planner had to help us coordinate this as well, in order to make this trip possible. At every transfer point, a representative met us to help navigate the local procedures and facilitate movement to our next flight, hotel, border crossing, etc. If we'd been on our own we'd likely have figured this out, but not with the efficiency and knowledge of the processes and procedures that this staff had. Their presence provided an enormous time saving, efficiency, and made the trip less stressful because we knew someone would tell us what to do next. Who would expect for example that we'd be required to clear security prior to checking in for our next flight? Or that baggage would be dropped at the door we'd just entered in the airport vs. another baggage claim area. In Johannesburg, we were quickly escorted for about a 15 minute walk to the lobby of our hotel. It's a large airport and not having to figure it out after a lengthy flight from the USA made this easy and added value.
Team Charles, Sarah, and Karen listened to what we wanted on our trip, and instead of focusing just on Botswana and Victoria Falls, they recommended Zambia as well. For Victoria Falls, we were told Zimbabwe is where we wanted to be. Advice was also provided for the Visa for Zambia/Zimbabwe. Our accommodations were all excellent. We actually benefited substantially with lodging upgrades and private vehicles and guides by traveling to Africa while most are staying home due to Covid. We were comfortable at camps with staff that were vaccinated at all but one of our five camps, masking, social distancing, and sanitization. Significant effort is being made to keep the few travelers visiting safe, so tourism may return sooner vs. later. At one of our airports, the restroom stalls in either Botswana or Zambia were being cleaned after every use! With this said, we've encouraged friends to mask up and consider travel now or in the next six months if they have the opportunity.
We strongly recommend working with this Africa travel company and felt that the presence of staff both in the USA and Africa helped. For this trip, we took a chance as our decision was between doing a trip with this company and with another travel company we've booked with numerous times. We went with this company because it was based on our desired itinerary and we'd be on our own in camps vs. being with a group. My spouse was particularly concerned about this aspect with covid and all the itinerary changes we'd seen prior to the trip, but in the end, we were both extremely satisfied with the end result and format of the trip. We would gladly book another trip through this company.
Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe Luxury Safari Review: Cape Town, Robbin Island, Table Mesa Mountain, Victoria Falls
From the moment I talked with Charles, I knew I made the right decision on a travel agent. He was extremely helpful in coming up with an itinerary that would cover everything that I wanted to do plus a few other suggestions. Since our trip was scheduled for 2020, we of course needed to postpone due to COVID and Charles was very helpful about getting our trip postponed to 2021. There was so much angst about whether we should postpone again till 2022 but with Charles' gentle nudging and reassurance we decided to go this year and I am so happy we did. I think we had an experience that was probably pretty unique because literally there is no one traveling to Africa. We were upgraded at many places, were the only ones at the camp on a few occasions, and there were some flights where we were the only ones or maybe a couple of other people with us.
We had a wonderful time in Cape Town exploring the wine country, a drive down to Cape of Good Hope, a ferry ride to Robbin Island (where Nelson Mandela served part of his prison sentence), and visited the prison. We also visited Table Mesa Mountain and the botanical gardens. I think we spent just the right amount of time there, three and half days.
From there we traveled to Botswana and stayed in three different safari camps for eight nights. This being our first trip to Africa, I think Botswana was the perfect place for our introduction. We were to see so many animals; each day was so exciting because every day you don't know what you are going to see.
From Botswana, we traveled to Zambia where we saw Victoria Falls; one of the seven wonders of the world. It is an amazing sight!!
Then it was on to Zimbabwe, where we stayed at our final safari camp.
By far, this has been one of the best trips we have ever taken. We have been to many countries around the world, but this is at the top of the best.
Travel Review: Luxury Botswana, South Africa, & Zimbabwe Africa Safari, Cape Town, Robbin Island, Wildlife, Okavango Delta
This was our first adventure to Africa and Charles listened to our wish list for our trip and magically created a custom trip that far exceeded our expectations and met our budget. Our group of four adults spent three days in Cape Town at a beautiful hotel and had a spectacular guide who showed us so much including the Cape of Good Hope, African penguins, Robbin Island, and wineries. From there we flew to Botswana for six days and stayed at two wonderful, but different, bush camps in Botswana. The two camps that this travel company chose for us had expert guides, great food, and beautiful accommodations. Both camps were conservation-minded and contributed to the community that surrounded them. We had fantastic game drives with close-up viewing of so many different species including lions, elephants, sable antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboons, and a baby leopard, just to name a few. We ended our trip in Zimbabwe and saw the falls from a walking tour, had a beautiful guided sunset boat ride for our group only. At every turn, we had great helpers, pilots, chefs, staff, and guides.
The whole trip was flawless. This Africa travel company thought of every detail, including having a Covid test team helicoptered in to the bush in Botswana so we could travel to Zimbabwe. There is absolutely no way we could have made this trip a reality without the expertise and attention to detail that this company provided especially with the additional concerns with Covid. This was my dream trip for my lifetime and this Africa travel company made it a reality.

South Africa Travel Review: Luxury African Safari Honeymoon, Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Knysna
South Africa has been at the top of my bucket list since I can remember. So it only seemed fitting to plan a honeymoon destination to South Africa. I thoroughly did my research before picking a travel agency to make sure we went with the best in the business. To say everything from start to finish was exceptional with the travel company is an understatement! From the beginning of the process, our travel designer ensured every detail of the trip was planned to the utmost satisfaction. She jumped through every hoop and made sure it was the trip of our dreams and planned every little detail to do so. She stayed communicative through the whole process, even when we had questions during our trip. Our South Africa honeymoon was by far THE BEST TRIP we have ever been on.
We cannot thank the travel team enough! We have honeymoon memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. If you’re looking for an Africa Travel Agency, look no further - this travel company is the best! We will be back and with this company again!
