Calling Zicasso and teaming with their travel agency to coordinate our African safari was an excellent decision. Our agent assisted us with choosing the optimal time of year to visit parks and accommodations that would meet our needs. Along with coordinating our connecting park bush flights and hand-picking our exclusive safari guides, her planning made this a most memorable and amazing adventure. We all delighted in the smooth flow of our journey throughout our itinerary. From the flights to the transfers and the accommodations, each was expecting us and welcoming.

Zicasso’s travel agent was a delight to work with. He turned our extremely ambitious wish list into a two-week dream itinerary that included stays in Cape Town, the Winelands, a safari lodge, and Victoria Falls, and ended with three nights aboard a houseboat on the Chobe River. All accommodations were superb and perfectly situated for enjoying the local scenery and culture. 

We transitioned from the cosmopolitan beachside vibe of Cape Town’s Camps Bay to a safari lodge that looked out on a busy watering hole frequented by hippos, zebras, elephants, antelopes and giraffes. We took advantage of many excursion opportunities: shark-tank diving, a swim in Devil’s Pool above Victoria Falls, a helicopter ride over the falls, ziplining, wine tasting, quad biking through vineyards, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary that included interaction with the animals.

Thanks to our agent’s meticulous planning, each day flowed seamlessly into the next. Transportation to and from airports and excursions was handled by a friendly cast of drivers and guides, all determined to make sure we had the best experience possible. We went to bed each day feeling like it had been the best day of the journey. It’s rare for my expectations to be exceeded, but our agent and his team did just that. It was an extraordinary experience.

The trip was absolutely wonderful. Thanks to our travel planner and guide, we were able to fit so much adventure into 12 days. Communication was always prompt and our planner quickly answered all of our questions leading up to and during the trip. The transfer from our Kenya guide to our Uganda guide was seamless. We had an issue with logistics in the last few days, but our planner helped us solve it quickly.

The only thing I would suggest they do differently: Our communication leading up to the Uganda portion of the trip was with the operations manager. We didn't meet our guide (or know they weren’t the operations manager) until the morning we left for Kibale. It would have been nice to have some communication with our guide beforehand as there were a couple of things on the itinerary (prepared by the manager) that our guide seemed not to know anything about, namely a game drive in Queen Elizabeth Park.

Our Zicasso travel team was amazing to work with! Our agent planned our trip knowing this was to be the trip of a lifetime for us. She put together a truly spectacular itinerary, whereby we started on safari, spent time in wonderful Cape Town, and finished on a very different safari from the first. There were small, personal touches along the way – a birthday cake surprise and African birthday song that made the trip so special and personal. The trip truly was the trip of a lifetime! We would strongly recommend working with this Zicasso travel partner. A great big thank you to our travel agent!

Our African safari, organized by Zicasso’s tour company and its agent, was a trip of a lifetime. Their partnering with the local travel company was absolutely brilliant. Our guide was of the highest quality that could have been expected. 

The accommodations at the Ngorongoro Crater were amazing. The other accommodations were a bit more rustic, but they seemed perfectly located for our safaris. 

We would not recommend the "walk" to the elephant caves without more disclosure about the difficulty of the trek and the footwear required. We were not thrilled with the visit to the Maasai village. We felt taken advantage of. We would have preferred a visit to a village where our participation was more authentic and where we did not get a high-pressure sales pitch.  

Booking the hot-air balloon ride with the chosen company was an excellent choice. We have come back with so many memories of our time in Tanzania (including our stay in Zanzibar). We would highly recommend our travel company and agent to anyone considering an African safari.

From our arrival to our departure, everything was fantastic! When we travel within the States, we do our own research and planning. However, we knew nothing about Japan (our daughter pushed for this trip). We decided to go “old school”, with a travel agent. We found ours through Zicasso.

The travel agents were great to work with and very responsive to emails. The itinerary was great and having guides for most of our excursions made everything so much more enriching. Especially when it came time for lunch. They know the best places!

We were a little worried about being there over the holidays, but we had no issues, with the exception of the crowds around Hakone for the Ekiden relay race.

Our guide created a slightly modified plan for our day trip in Hakone National Park to avoid road closures so we didn’t miss a thing. It was also a little stressful making sure we could make it back to Tokyo for our return flight with road closures and taxi/bus availability, but everything worked out perfectly with Japan’s wonderful train system.

We would definitely work with Zicasso's travel partner again.
