My sisters and I took our father back to Vietnam this spring and I can't express how great it was working with Zicasso’s travel agent. We had an aggressive itinerary (as one does when you want to see everything!) and our agent was somehow able to make it all work. Having someone to plan all the logistics (in-county flights, hotels, drive times, etc) made the trip much less stressful than it would otherwise have been.

However, what really made our agent and the company stand out was the attention to detail and the guides. Our agent met us at our hotel one day and had a gift for my dad… a small Vietnamese cyclo. It was something my dad had been mentioning as being very memorable and our agent went out of his way to buy a small one as a gift. A very cool gesture.

The guides our agent hired were also very knowledgeable and paid attention to every little detail. They had no problem getting away from the itinerary and exploring something we expressed an interest in exploring or doing as we went along. We spent time at the post office sending our loved ones postcards and driving down lots of tiny roads searching for areas of the delta that looked familiar to my dad.

Even after our trip was officially over and we were relaxing at our hotel on the last night, one of our guides showed up with the ingredients to make banh mi sandwiches because we mentioned wanting that for dinner. His favorite place was too far for us to get to from our hotel, so he drove there himself and delivered it to us as a final surprise. He perfectly embodied the Vietnamese people and how warm and inviting they are.

I highly recommend our travel company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again on our next trip to Vietnam!

We had an amazing trip which was pretty much faultless. Everything was easy and very well organized, and any small thing that we wanted addressing throughout the holiday was actioned immediately. Our travel specialist was great and frequently checked in throughout the holiday.

Before the holiday, our travel specialist offered many ideas of what to do but worked really closely with me on preparation as I liked many ideas but there were particular things and hotels we wanted to go to, and these were all incorporated. Our travel specialist also helped with Visa preparation, etc.

On our last day before we left for the airport, our travel specialist called the hotel for a final check-in, which was lovely. Both my husband and I have high standards, and we came away from this trip thinking it was one of our favorites, and we travel a fair bit. Thanks to the travel company and, in particular, our travel specialist.

After returning home from a month-long trip to Asia, I am still wowed by the service provided by the travel agency and our guides in Vietnam. Since this was our first visit to the country, I reached out to the agency for itinerary recommendations, and thankfully, I was connected with Albee. She was incredibly responsive before and during our trip, and she paired us with such knowledgeable and hospitable guides.

Our first guide during the trip hosted us in Hanoi and SaPa. We opted to stay a bit more off the beaten path at an ecolodge which we can highly recommend, which is about 30 minutes away from the SaPa village center. We let our guide know we were interested in learning more about the local culture and exploring the countryside, and wow, he delivered! 

We went on the most memorable hike through the rice terraces and stopped to chat with several villagers along the way. He knew everyone. On top of that, he taught us about local flora and customs while on the hike and then the bike ride. We are already looking forward to returning to the North and further exploring the Vietnam/China border, but only if we can do it with him! The mountains were truly the highlight of our trip, and it wouldn't have been possible without him as our guide. If you are lucky enough to add SaPa to your itinerary, do yourself a favor and request him.

Our guide in Saigon, which was the last leg of our Vietnam trip, was so accommodating to our changing needs. After a couple of weeks of travel, we arrived in Saigon wanting a more relaxing pace. She seamlessly made alternate arrangements for us that were a perfect end to the trip. The most hospitable moment from our entire trip to Asia came when we expressed an interest in visiting a local family. She immediately suggested that she and her family host us for lunch at their home in the Mekong Delta the next afternoon. This was such an unexpected yet memorable end to our time in Vietnam. Our guide’s and her family's hospitality were unmatched, and we were so fortunate to have her as our guide.

Overall, we had a great time. First, I want to thank our Zicasso travel consultant, who helped us plan an itinerary that met all of our needs. She was very prompt and incorporated our feedback.

Although frequent travelers, this was our first trip to Asia. We greatly wanted to visit Thailand, but were uncertain how to proceed in planning our trip. Through Zicasso, we came into contact with our travel agent. We had great conversations with him about our interests, what we were hoping to experience in Thailand, and our travel style. He put together an initial travel itinerary, which we subsequently modified in follow-up conversations. Our agent was great to work with and we felt very involved in the process of setting up our trip.

We have now returned from the trip and it was wonderful, or as my wife keeps telling people, magical. The attention to detail was impressive. The accommodations were first-rate. Travel occurred as planned, with air and land travel within Thailand going without a hitch.

My wife has food allergies and was very concerned about how she would manage in Thailand. Our agent made sure our hotels and excursion providers were well informed of her dietary restrictions ahead of time and she was able to relax and enjoy herself without worry. As an example, when we went to the breakfast buffet at our hotel in Bangkok, a staff member approached us and went over their buffet, telling my wife which dishes to avoid.

The best part of our trip was our guide. He was a wonderful person who took great joy in sharing his vast knowledge of Thailand with us. The excursions we took were enriched by his presence.

Our agent was readily available to answer any questions we had as our travels progressed. We felt that his company’s resources were available to us throughout our travels and that he had our backs. I would like to emphasize that we were extremely pleased with the company and are highly recommending them as we recount our trip with friends and family. I would not hesitate to work with them again in planning future travels.

Our family of four traveled to Japan, visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Hakone area. The Zicasso travel agency put together great properties. We loved the locations of each and their amenities. We had excellent seats on the bullet train. Our driver and tour guide in Kyoto were outstanding!

We felt there was definitely a communication misstep with our plans for Tokyo however. Our driver/guide was very lovely, but not very definitive on what we were doing each day. We felt we had communicated with the driver and the travel company as to what we wanted to do, but for example, when we went to do our food tour of Tokyo, it was paired with a visit to the fish market. We asked if the food tour was after the market, to which our guide said yes. However, about two hours into the fish market we realized that was his idea of the food tour. There was no specific plan of what we were to try and no explanation of the items. Instead, we walked around and bought a few things we wanted to try. We shared everything as we were saving room for the food tour that really never happened. It was frustrating as we felt our guide was more of a driver and less of a guide. Communication was definitely a factor, which is why we hired the travel agency.

We really enjoyed working with Zicasso’s tour company to plan the trip. Our agent took into account our research and made suggestions/recommendations that enhanced the itinerary. We spent 11 days visiting Vietnam (HCMC, Hi An, Hanoi, Pù Luông, Ninh Bình, and Lan Ha Bay). It was an ambitious agenda that was executed without a hitch.

The internal flights were arranged so we did not feel rushed (our guides walked us into the airport, helped us check in our bags, and stayed until we made it to security). Our driver during the latter half of the trip was extremely professional and kept an immaculate car, making sure we had water and whatever we needed during the multi-hour drives.

Some of our guides could have been more knowledgeable, but my husband is a history buff and we tend to like a lot of in-depth information. The exception was our guide in Hanoi (and for the rest of the trip). He was fantastic and we were delighted that we had such a high-quality guide during the parts of our trip we had to rely on a guide the most. We were a bit taken aback that we had two guides for certain activities, but at the end of the day, we did not feel it was extraneous.

The hotel selection was up to our standards. It was a mix of standard rooms in five-star luxury hotels and spectacular rooms in Pù Luông and on our Ha Long Bay cruise.
