The overall trip was great because the country was lovely and those in the group enjoyed each other. We had many different experiences and felt like Zicasso’s travel company tried their best. Their best was a little baffling because there were a few times when they did not make the correct judgment call. Instead of rectifying the issue, they just insisted they were right. The customer service for the price we paid was not commensurate.
For example, at one point they had us in a small children's school bus with suitcases surrounding us and it wasn't until some folks strongly expressed their displeasure that the company did anything about it. We had 22 folks by the end and the company provided only one guide, which was a big mistake. As a result, we didn't get a lot of historical information about the sites. There were too many people for one person to manage well and some excursions were missed because of this. They corrected this for us in Cambodia and it made a huge difference to our experience, but we were only there for a couple of days.

The trip exceeded expectations, especially as it was my first to Asia. When I first contacted Zicasso's travel agent, he responded immediately and spent time listening to my thoughts regarding the trip. He developed an itinerary based on our conversation. After several back-and-forth e-mails and calls, a final itinerary was developed. It provided the flexibility required and met all of my needs.
Our agent was most helpful in facilitating all of the arrangements, including hotels, flights within Thailand and Cambodia, and finding guides and drivers. The guides across the board were knowledgeable, responsive to my needs, cordial, and helpful. They accommodated any changes I requested, smiling the whole time.
The entire team was responsive through WhatsApp whenever a need arose during the trip.
I highly recommend our travel agency.

Our family of four traveled to Japan, visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Hakone area. The Zicasso travel agency put together great properties. We loved the locations of each and their amenities. We had excellent seats on the bullet train. Our driver and tour guide in Kyoto were outstanding!
We felt there was definitely a communication misstep with our plans for Tokyo however. Our driver/guide was very lovely, but not very definitive on what we were doing each day. We felt we had communicated with the driver and the travel company as to what we wanted to do, but for example, when we went to do our food tour of Tokyo, it was paired with a visit to the fish market. We asked if the food tour was after the market, to which our guide said yes. However, about two hours into the fish market we realized that was his idea of the food tour. There was no specific plan of what we were to try and no explanation of the items. Instead, we walked around and bought a few things we wanted to try. We shared everything as we were saving room for the food tour that really never happened. It was frustrating as we felt our guide was more of a driver and less of a guide. Communication was definitely a factor, which is why we hired the travel agency.

This was a very memorable trip and we enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. This was our first trip to Southeast Asia as a family of four and each of our Zicasso guides, in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, was kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and a pleasure to spend time with.
When we wanted to make adjustments to the schedule, they were accommodating and lovely. When our 25-year-old fell ill in Phuket, our guide made sure to stop by a pharmacy to help us get medicine. When my husband was unwell with a stomach ailment on our first day in Bangkok, our guide advised him to eat yogurt, which was a tremendous help. Our guide was very helpful in advising on the proper protocol in the temples and in interacting with the people in Hmong village.
Overall, I think we were well matched with our guides and they made our trip so much more enjoyable.

Zicasso's travel company was great to work with! I never had to worry about transportation from airports or to and from excursions. The tour guides they connected me with were amazing and hospitable. I also never had any trouble with ticketing during any of my excursions. Everything was well planned out and taken care of, which relieved me of a lot of stress and anxiety.

As first-time travelers to Southeast Asia, we wanted a travel company that would tailor a trip to our wishes, provide seamlessness as we moved among the countries, and be responsive to daily changes that might occur. Zicasso's travel operator was all that and more.
From the extremely helpful pre-trip consult to the back and forth regarding various possibilities, the proactive recommendations based upon deep experience in the areas, the carefully selected guides and drivers, and handling little wrinkles as they occurred, our travel agent and his team were absolutely tops.
We loved each stop and, as a result, have become promoters of visiting such a fascinating and welcoming part of our world.

Our experience with this travel company was exceptional. We couldn't be happier. The process of setting an itinerary was enjoyable as our travel agency provided personal attention to ensure we planned the trip we wanted and responded quickly to several requests for changes in both location and activities. We definitely felt a connection with our representative.
Once we started the trip, our accommodations were stellar, our guide an absolute treat, and our driver kept us safe in the chaos that is Hanoi traffic. The itinerary spanned the gamut of food, culture, history, and sublime geography. The individuals we worked with from the travel company were courteous, responsive, knowledgeable, and a joy to deal with.
We are very much looking forward to another trip with them in the future.

I would give the trip and company 4.5 stars, but that is not an option. Overall, the trip was interesting, and we felt the program allowed us to get a good overview of both Vietnam and Cambodia. Ms. Ha at the travel agency was excellent to work with. She was very prompt in responding to our queries, helped us plan a great itinerary, and attended to glitches right away. The arrangements, especially in Vietnam, were very good, our guides were always punctual, knowledgeable about their cities, and keen to share that knowledge with enthusiasm. We appreciated the fact that in Hanoi, our guide went out of his way to help us with money exchange and pharmacy purchases and also allowed us to fit in an unscheduled visit to the Hanoi Hilton (at our expense, of course). It was also very nice to have dinner with Ha on our final day in Vietnam.
The cruise on Halong Bay was a bit disappointing. For people who do not want to kayak or swim, there were very few activities, and the ship spent a lot of time anchored rather than cruising. The rooms on board, however, were very good. All hotel choices were very good, and we would like to give a shout out to the hotel in Hoi An, which was a charming place to stay at.
We enjoyed Cambodia, but the 95+ degree heat detracted somewhat from our enjoyment and exploration of the temples in Siem Reap. Due to a mix-up with the operator in Cambodia, and despite our mentioning this to the guide, we went to all the temples in a single day, which was somewhat exhausting. Our guide was knowledgeable but seemed to go strictly by the book. Unfortunately parts of Angkor Wat were closed to tourists the first day because of the king's visit. The next day's excursion to Tonle Sap Lake and Banteay Srei temple was slower-paced and more enjoyable, and on our free third day, we rented a tuktuk and enjoyed a trip through the countryside to the Landmines Museum. Our guide in Phnom Penh was great and made recent history come alive.
