We highly recommend this travel agency. We wanted to go to SE Asia for a month-long trip but didn't know where to start; it seemed so overwhelming. Then, thru Zicasso, we found this company. Soon after engaging with them, they gave us a good idea of where we should go and what we should based on our desires and constraints. Together, we designed a trip that was fantastic. We just returned from spending a month visiting five countries, and we loved our entire trip. And when we needed help or had questions along the way, they were readily available to support us.we are recommending them to all of our friends, and we will certainly use them again if we travel to that part of the world.Show More
The company we chose for our trip to Vietnam and Laos and the travel planner (and Branch Manager), did an excellent job planning and managing our trip. We wanted to visit Hanoi, HCMC (Saigon), Luang Prabang and Vientiane. Our planner took that basic request and turned it into a fascinating trip. We stayed in excellent hotels, had an interesting itinerary each day, were guided by very good English speaking guides, and were provided well chosen diversions along the way.I am a veteran of the war in Vietnam and wanted to visit some specific areas that would not be included on a normal small group tour so we were looking for a travel company that would plan the trip for only my wife and me. We were fortunate to find this travel company and planner who tailored the trip to meet our specific requests. We were met by knowledgable English speaking tour guides at each of the five destinations we selected and were provided our own guide, driver, vehicle and itinerary at each stop. We were delighted by the quality of the hotels. While all of them were very good, we particularly enjoyed the hotel in Ninh Ninh, the Cruise on Halong Bay, the hotel in Luang Prabang and the hotel in Saigon. The guides and drivers were all excellent. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were safe, comfortable and enjoying our trip. The itinerary included variations such as rides on motorbike rickshaws, rowing sampans, a rowboat trip up a beautiful, meandering river among scenic karst hills, and speedboat trips on Halong Bay and the Saigon River.A wonderful feature of our individually planned trip was the ability to adjust as we went along, canceling or shortening some visits while we extended or added some other events.Show More
The trip exceeded all expectations. Our trip planner and the entire travel team are excellent. Our trip planner was very responsive when we requested a few mid course changes during the trip. She was always available and responsive. The trip was arranged online and we never met the planner, but she listened to us and provided a near flawless trip. We would use her again and give her the highest recommendation. The guides were terrific as are all the people of Japan. I am usually a person of few words, but could go on and on about our experience and the quality of service.Show More
We had a great trip up until the last 4 days or so. This was no fault of the travel company but it was cut short buy the coronvirus. We started our trip near the end of February and the virus was somewhat limited to China and didn't seem to be a problem in the rest of the world. In fact, starting our Vietnam tour in Ho Chi Minh we found most of the attractions not very busy.We did kind of semi custom trip with it starting in Ho Chi Minh, going south to the Mekong Delta and then over to Cambodia. The hotels were very good in the first 2 stops but in Cambodia (Siem Reap) we had probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel by the Siem Reap river was exceptional with a couple of extras I had never seen before. Free laundry and a free massage (daily). The people in this hotel were also very friendly and helpful. Our next stop in Hoi Ann was a very nice stop as well. We spend a few days seeing the sights (a tour of Marble Mountain and a great Vespa tour around the countryside in Hoi Ann) but we also stayed in a hotel by the sea so we were able to add in a beach type vacation. The next stop in Hue was also very interesting seeing the Citadel. Also had my favourite lunch here at a french style restaurant.Going up to Hanoi we noticed things were changing as we couldn't do the tour of Ha Long/Lan Ha Bay. The government was closing tourist areas as the virus was spreading rapidly in the world. We did go down to Ninh Binh to see that area but temples and attractions were closing there as well. We changed our flights but almost got stuck at a hotel due to a potential virus spread in the hotel. Thankfully, the tests were negative and we were able to leave on schedule. The last few days required a number of changes to our plans as things were quickly and unexpectedly closing around us quickly. As you can imagine this caused a great deal of stress not knowing if we even be allowed to leave. All this required us to rely heavily on our travel planner of this company. We had to change tour plans, hotel reservations and even meal plans. I am so thankful that we got the advice, changes and support when we needed it. Not sure that a tour guide from back home would have been able to help us to the degree that we received from our planner. Overall it was a great vacation. The guides, drivers, attractions and hotels were all top notch. We were able to adjust the pace of the vacation for it to be relaxing as well as interesting. Unfortunately, things beyond our control forced us to cut it short.Show More
I really had an excellent time on this trip and enjoyed working with this travel agency. This was my first visit to India and visiting Kashmir and Ladakh was an extraordinary experience. I've been lucky to travel a lot and have visited Bhutan previously, so I was a bit concerned that Ladakh would feel too same-same. Not at all, Despite the commonalities of Buddhist culture, the scenery is very different and the preservation of Tibetan culture in Ladakh unique. I was also lucky to be one of the last foreign tourists to visit Kashmir before the state was closed due to the ongoing problems.I appreciated that my travel agent gave me a lot of options and I never felt pressured to spend more or less. While I like luxury, in the end, I chose the more moderate (still extremely nice and luxurious) option, which turned out to be the right choice for me. She seemed truly interested in making the trip match my interests and needs, which I very much appreciated. The hotels repeatedly exceeded my expectation and I felt my travel agent had steered me very well. I also "discovered" one place in Ladakh that also turned out to be excellent and my travel agent investigated as well. The real highlight in terms of hotels was a Palace in Gurugram. It really is a royal palace and was just absolutely breathtaking. The rooms had authentic original Buddhist style paintings on them. I'm not one to video hotel rooms but I did this one! I felt incredibly lucky to have that experience as well as many others. I was grateful that my travel agent dissuaded me from basing myself in Leh and doing day trips. Leh is very touristy. Worth seeing the sights but not very enchanting to stay.My visit to Kashmir was great too. I never felt unsafe, though I wasn't terribly worried about safety. Frankly, the Kashmiris overall were thrilled to have a foreign tourist and would love to see more, though that won't be happening for awhile now. Obviously, it is important to be sensitive to the local mores but that's true everywhere and not particularly in Kashmir. I can't recall any problems that I had with anyone. The Indian military presence was strong but not a particular problem (for me). My travel agent had both prepared me for any formalities (less than I expected by a lot) and the local guides were ready as well. My guide in Kashmir was truly knowledgeable and arranged some special experiences geared to my personal interests. By the way, Kashmir is the place to buy souvenirs--excellent rugs and carvings. Not really much in Ladakh.Ladakh was truly special. I've seen plenty of Buddhist monasteries but still ended up amazed. Monasteries built into hillsides. For the first time, I got to see part of a religious festival. I appreciated that I was able to sit in a chair as I have a few back problems (arranged without any mention by me). I also had the opportunity to speak with Buddhist monks and observe several Buddhist ceremonies. I'm not Buddhist myself but I have an appreciation and respect for the religion and culture. My guide in Ladakh worked very hard to make sure I was happy. He really worked very hard as did the driver. They were careful of my safety but not restrictive or afraid to let this solo travel go solo as appropriate.I got around a lot of Ladakh and managed to avoid the tourist hordes (thanks to the agent's wise advice) that go to particular parts of Ladakh but avoid the rest. I'm glad I got up to Baltistan (Turtuk) near the Line of Control but I don't know that it would be for everyone. Different cuisine and people. It's a very long but stunning drive. This is the one bit that may've been a tad oversold. Meeting the local "king" (well, his son) in the tattered remains of their home/palace sounded exotic and interesting but was perhaps a bit melancholy and touristy. However, I loved the touristy camels in the desert in Nubra--though I got to be the last tourist of the day as the stars came out.I should mention that if you travel to this part of the world, you have to expect a few hiccups and roll with them. The pass between Kashmir and Ladakh was closed/open and we ended up waiting for hours and hours to get through. In retrospect, however, it became clear that my guides had handled it exactly correctly. Climate change means that there is more rain than previously so more mudslides than previously. My driver was incredibly skilled--the best I've had. The drive over the pass between Leh and the Nubra Valley -- the highest motorable road in the world -- was terrific and I loved it with no similar problems.Overall, I was enormously pleased with both the trip and the travel agent. I would be glad to work with this agency again.Show More
LOVED working with this travel company!! As a first time solo travel, I had a lot of questions and sent many emails about changes and different inquiries. I had a wonderful time in the beautiful country of Laos. Thanks to our travel planners at the travel company, I was able to enjoy a variety of activities without having to worry about planning! They did a fantastic job of organizing from start to finish.Show More
This travel company did an excellent job planning our trip. They organized everything from amazing private with private chefs to rafting trips in the mountains of Thailand. All we had to do was share our interests and desired locations and they took care of the rest. We originally tried to make the plans ourselves and were so overwhelmed with all the options available. As soon as this company got involved, everything went incredibly smoothly. The excursiouns were all top-notch. It was far better than we could have planned ourselves. Other families we met on vacation were jealous of the things that this travel company had planned for us. The hotels were great, the tour guides were fantastic and our needs were always met. All of the experiences in Thailand were curated perfectly and the travel company organized things that we would have never even known to ask for.Show More

My wife and I just returned from a 3-week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia organized by the travel company. We had used a company referred by Zicasso for a trip to Argentina in 2018 and were curious to see if we would be as satisfied after this trip as we had been after that one. Suffice it to say, we were not disappointed! This company did a terrific job in organizing our trip, securing comfortable, welcoming and well-located accommodations, setting us up with incredible guides with terrific local knowledge and very good English (we're from the US), arranging all our in-country flights and planning some extremely engaging and memorable outings and adventures.
While I can't be sure, I think they also dialed up the weather - we only experienced 1 day of light precipitation in 19 days in the country! They ensured we spent time in the North (Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Lan Ha Bay), Central (Hue and Hoi An), and South (Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta) parts of Vietnam and the temples (Siem Reap) in Cambodia. They also arranged an extensive array of food experiences and venues and provided many other memorable personal encounters with locals throughout Vietnam.
Without fail, every day revealed many interesting aspects of the culture and history of Vietnam and Cambodia. Our contact at the company was always responsive to our inquiries and requests - both before we left the US and while we were on our trip - and took time to meet with us personally in Ho Chi Minh City. We were happy to be able to express our appreciation for his efforts in designing such a personalized adventure. HIGHLY recommended.
