Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand Tour Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Cruise, Vespa Ride, 3 Weeks

Overall, we were very impressed with Zicasso’s travel company, from our initial contact and planning, and throughout our trip to Southeast Asia. The organization, communication, and staff expertise were great. The travel company did a great job with planning, customized the trip after discussing our interests, arranged for local guides and drivers at each stop, and kept strong communication throughout. We would strongly recommend them.

Our first contact, from our Zicasso referral, was promptly answered by our travel specialist. She arranged video calls with us at our convenience (odd hours for her!) and worked to create an itinerary to our liking and budget. She promptly responded to our questions and adjustments, despite the time difference. She followed up on our questions up until our departure.

All of our guides and drivers were professional, knowledgeable, personable, and willing to engage our questions and conversations. Their English was excellent and easy for us to understand, although sometimes our questions were not clearly understood (perhaps too complex or “American”). They provided their personal stories, which enhanced the tour and allowed us to better understand the countries we were visiting and their history. Schedules were clearly explained and they were always punctual, but also flexible to our desires and how we were feeling.

Meeting us at the airports and walking us through ticketing after dropping us off for our next flight made our travel so much easier and stress-free. The drivers were awesome, getting us through heavy city traffic and small country roads. This allowed our guides to focus on us.

The daily excursions were a great mix of history, urban sites, and visits to non-touristy countryside villages to learn about daily life, agriculture, and crafts. They also helped us better understand the impacts and aftermath of the many wars and political changes within our own lifetimes. The walking tours were paced well and allowed us to set our pace based on how we felt. The breaks throughout for coffee, etc., were quite helpful to rest and sustain our energy. Driving tours were a nice balance of driving and getting out on foot. We always appreciated the water provided by our drivers at each stop.

We enjoyed the many chances to meet locals and artisans directly and talking with them via our guides’ personal connections and their translation. Seeing their homes, businesses, and temples was a special and memorable experience. They shared their skills, their works, and their homes. We got to try their work with them, better than just watching them work. We are grateful to them for sharing their lives with us.

We particularly enjoyed the third-party experiences that the travel company arranged for us, notably a river cruise, a Vespa ride in Ho Chi Minh City with a guide, plus a personalized cocktail and dining experience, and a Vespa experience in Hoi An. Their knowledge of and connections with these reputable companies really added to our travel experience.

The lodging was exceptional throughout our trip and exceeded our expectations for the level of hotels we requested. They were centrally located in each location for our guided tours and our free time. The hotel staffs everywhere were so accommodating and friendly. The dining was plentiful, varied, and delicious, particularly the breakfast buffets.

If we had one suggestion, it was that some guides spoke too quickly and overwhelmed us with information and details about what we were seeing. Their knowledge is so vast that we had trouble taking in the full narrative and the tour experience. At times, we needed to just raise our hand and pause the presentation.

One impressive note was the broad level of respect that many of our guides displayed for the organization and particularly its founder. They shared his impressive story and their personal experience with him, and it is clear they truly like working for this company. It is clear that this travel company is a special organization, a family as much as a business. We like being able to patronize companies like that. We plan to contact them again for our future travel.

India Tour Review: National Parks, Safari, Ganges River, Boat Ride, Wildlife, Culture, 3 Weeks

Zicasso’s travel specialist was masterful in planning our itinerary for our trip to India. His recommendations for the national parks and our accommodations were spot-on.

The reason we came to India was for the wildlife, and that was spectacular, but the varied itinerary the travel specialist provided added richness and wonderful cultural experiences to our stay in India.

Everything was well planned and executed by the travel company. The WhatsApp connection kept us in contact with their team and it was an added convenience that they attached our boarding passes for the internal flights. I think the travel specialist did an amazing job and it has been an absolute pleasure working with him and his team.

Thailand Trip Review: Bangkok, River Kwai, Chiang Mai, Krabi, 2 Weeks

If I could give Zicasso’s travel company six stars, I would. We had a flawless experience with them. After a few conversations with our travel agent, he gave us a perfect, adventurous itinerary of what we wanted to do in Thailand over our two-week trip.

The private drivers and guides (sometimes hard to understand with their Thai accents) were well worth the trouble, since they were all professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and fun!

I would heartily recommend the travel company to all my friends.

Costa Rica Vacation Review: La Fortuna, Ziplining, Hanging Bridges, River Rafting, Chocolate Farm, 7 Nights

Our trip in Costa Rica went off without a single hitch, thanks to Zicasso’s travel company! Our travel agent even came to meet us at the airport before we got in our transfer and checked in with us at one of our excursions to make sure everything was going well.

We did four outings in La Fortuna (hanging bridges, ziplining, chocolate farm tour, and river rafting) and had an amazing time. The hotel recommendation was also exactly what we were looking for; we can’t say enough good things!
