San Jose – Between East and West
Welcome to San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. The city resides in the Central Valley and contains the country’s heart and soul. Tortuguero – Tortuguero Canals and Pacuare Biological Reserve

You step onto a boat and begin the journey.

You can search the banks of the canals for the agami heron, which can grow to 30 inches tall with a neck and breast shining with chestnut plumage and a white line coursing down their neck. Their wings shimmer with emerald and their crown has hints of pale blue spreading to their lower back.
Monteverde Cloud Forest – Top of the Western Ridge

Monteverde Cloud Forest – Watching the Clouds from Above
The Cloud Forest Reserve is famous for its rich biodiversity. The moisture of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans converges on the hilltops and creates meandering bursts of graceful clouds.
