Detailed Description
Costa Rica is pure nature. Ash spurts from active volcanos, turtles nest on incredible Caribbean beaches, and howler monkeys call boisterously from the treetops. Costa Rica is home to a vast array of waterfalls, natural hot springs, cloud forests, quetzals, and 200 other bird species. This is where you can spend one day gazing into a volcano before being surrounded by capuchin monkeys. It is difficult to find many places in Costa Rica that are not dominated by nature. Even the coffee fields have a wild feel to them, and small plantation restaurants epitomize organic farm to table cooking. This country of remarkable biodiversity is one of the best in the world for an immersion into nature. With this two-week Costa Rica tour, you will experience the different sides to Mother Nature.
Handcrafted around Costa Rica’s best national parks and natural experiences, your two-week vacation will begin with an overnight in San Jose. Afterward, you will fly to Tortuguero, where you will spend time on the Caribbean side. For three days, you will indulge in sea turtle conservation, beautiful beaches, and cruising down rivers in search of monkeys and rare birds. It will be a very relaxed beginning to your vacation. On day five, you will be able to gaze into the astonishing crater of Poas Volcano before connecting to a series of volcanos in Juan Castro Blanco National Park. Two nights in the Arenal Volcano area will provide you with opportunities for wilderness rafting, guided waterfall hikes, and therapeutic natural hot springs.
Rincon de la Vieja National Park is a little off the beaten track. Here, there will be adventure as you mountain bike on an active volcano before experiencing the life of the Costa Rican cowboy with a full-day hiking and horseback riding expedition. Your wild nature encounters will continue in Monteverde Cloud Forest with ziplines being the mode of exploration in this destination. During your time here, you can immerse yourself in the clouds and continue the wildlife encounters before concluding your incredible vacation with some quiet time on the Pacific coast at Conchal. In two weeks, you will have traveled to both coasts and seen a handful of volcanos with so much wildlife and wilderness along the way.
