I worked with Charles and Jason. Charles helped me plan the trip and Jason helped with the day to day logistics once we were traveling. Both were excellent to work with. They were immediately responsive to texts & emails. During our 2 week trip to Thailand there was one hiccup with a hotel and Jason immediately responded to my text and handled it, finding us a new hotel. The local guides they arranged were excellent in both their knowledge & English skills. The guides met us at the airport and helped us navigate through check in lines when we were departing. Charles was very knowledgeable about Thailand and all of his recommendations were spot on. I would absolutely work with Charles & Jason again in the future and appreciate all they did in helping us plan a stellar trip to Thailand!

We just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip arranged by Vinh from the travel company. This was my third trip through Zicasso and once again, I returned home amazed and delighted. We went to Vietnam and Cambodia with 7 people for a 2-week trip. The youngest traveler was age 6 and the oldest was age 63. Vinh did an incredible job incorporating activities that appealed to all ages in the group while making us feel like adventurers. We also felt like we learned a lot about the local culture from our guides, the sites we visited, and the activities. All of the hotels were 5-star and some literally made our jaw drop when we saw our rooms. The food was amazing, and our guides did a nice job of addressing food allergies and preferences. Vinh also checked in with us throughout the trip. We were super impressed when he learned we were celebrating my parent's 40th anniversary and was able to arrange a nice surprise at the hotel the same day.

Our experience with this travel company was exceptional. Couldn’t be happier. The process of setting an itinerary was enjoyable as our travel agency provided personal attention to ensure we planned the trip we wanted and responded quickly to several requests for changes in location and activities. We definitely felt a connection with our representative. Once we started the trip, our accommodations were stellar, our guide an absolute treat, and our driver kept us safe in the chaos that is Hanoi traffic. The itinerary spanned the gamut of food, culture, history, and sublime geography. The individuals we worked with from our travel company were courteous, responsive, knowledgeable, and a joy to deal with. We are very much looking forward to another trip with them in the future.

From start to finish, the entire process of working with the travel company was exceptional. Many thanks to Vy, who responded quickly to emails despite the time difference and worked with me and my family for several last minute changes to our original plans. Guides in both countries were friendly, punctual and knowledgeable. Accommodations were lovely and in great locations. It was particularly helpful that the travel agency has offices in these countries as there was always a contact available to support. I received WhatsApp messages immediately upon arrival in Bali and a guide to navigate through the airport which was invaluable. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to this area of Asia.

I would give the trip and company 4.5 stars but that is not an option. Overall, the trip was interesting and we felt the program allowed us to get a good overview of both Vietnam and Cambodia. Ms. Ha at the travel agency was excellent to work with---she was very prompt in responding to our queries, helped us plan a great itinerary, and attended to glitches right away. The arrangements, especially in Vietnam, were very good. The guides were always punctual, they were knowledgeable about their cities and keen to share that knowledge with enthusiasm. We appreciated the fact that in Hanoi, our guide went out of his way to help us with money exchange and pharmacy purchases and also allowed us to fit in an unscheduled visit to the Hanoi Hilton (at our expense of course). It was also very nice to have dinner with Ha our final day in Vietnam. The cruise on Halong bay was a bit disappointing---for people who do not want to kayak or swim, there were very few activities, and the ship spent a lot of time anchored rather than cruising. The rooms on board however were very good. All hotel choices were very good, and we would like to give a shout out to the hotel in Hoi An, which was a charming place to stay at.We enjoyed Cambodia, but the 95+ degree heat detracted somewhat from our enjoyment and exploration of the temples in Siem Reap. Due to a mix up with the operator in Cambodia, and despite our mentioning this to the guide, we went to all the temples in a single day, which was somewhat exhausting. Our guide was knowledgeable, but seemed to go strictly by the book (parts of Angkor Wat were closed to tourists the first day because of the king's visit). The next day's excursion to Tonle Sap lake and Banteay Srei temple was slower paced and more enjoyable. On our free third day we hired a tuktuk and enjoyed a trip through the countryside to the Landmines museum. Our guide in Phnom Penh was great and made recent history come alive.

A Miracle Worker in the Nic of TimeAn adventure traveler I have always been, but now as an octogenarian, I found myself somewhat apprehensive about traveling solo in Vietnam. On the advice of an acquaintance, only two weeks before "lift off", I reached out to Zicasso Travel who put me in touch with this travel company, where Allison, travel expert in South Asia custom tours, designed a 15-day itinerary with guide and driver that covered highlights of Hanoi in the north to Saigon in the south. Recently returned, I have only the most glowing comments of what a delightful and informative trip it was. I soon realized that the Vietnamese are some of the most hospitable, caring folk I have ever encountered. All arrangements worked smoothly and my guides in each location were most friendly and efficient, informative and caring. In fact, my guide in Saigon invited me to spend my last day with his family in the suburbs, a special opportunity to view the life of a Vietnamese family from the inside out.The hotel in Saigon was a jewel of a boutique accommodation with rooftop swimming pool and bar, and a breakfast each morning that was varied and tasty. The concierge could not have been more pleasant and helpful, greeting me by name upon my return from sight-seeing each day, and offering me an iced ginger-lemon tea to refresh myself.Thank you Allison for knowing exactly what would suit my needs ... just in the nic of time for me to enjoy a beautiful trip through Vietnam!

We worked with Ambrose at this travel company and had an amazing trip to Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. We were planning our trip around a wedding in Khao Lak, Thailand, and were looking to squeeze in a lot in the week and a half before. Working with Ambrose and his team was so easy from start to finish. Ambrose is super responsive which was something I noticed from the moment we were paired via Zicasso. My fiancé and I had a ton of questions which he patiently and thoroughly answered. The only thing we booked ourself was our departure and return flight to the trip and the hotel for the wedding (which was outside our travel with our travel agency). Everything else was handled by our travel team. Our itinerary was incredibly thorough, and included all of our flights and transportation during the trip which was amazing. The itinerary also included information about e-visa applications, local culture and tipping, and other handy information. Ambrose consolidated all of our information into a neat package within the itinerary which was easily accessible online and via the travel App. He was super accommodating when we had to make a last minute change about a month before the trip because the bride changed the wedding dates. While on the trip everything was seamless and we did some really incredible activities. Our local guides and drivers were always on time and waiting when we arrived and for every activity planned. Ambrose and his team were also available via chat in the travel app while we were on our trip. Just one thing to note is that once the trip starts any changes are liable to the customer. We had a minor miscommunication at the end of our trip and did not realize that by cancelling a transportation we no longer required would not be refunded. Overall Ambrose and his team were excellent to work with and we had an incredible trip. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again if/when we take another Asia trip.

We had an amazing trip. Pretty much faultless, everything was easy and very well organised and any small thing that we wanted addressing throughout the holiday was actioned immediately. Our travel specialist was great and frequently checked in as well throughout the holiday. Before the holiday our travel specialist offered many ideas of what to do but worked really closely with me on preparation as I liked many ideas but there were particular things/hotels we wanted to go to and these were all incorporated. Our travel specialist also helped with Visa preparation etc. On our last day before we left for the airport our travel specialist called the hotel for a final check in which was lovely. We (my husband and I) both have high standards and we came away having what I think was one of our favourite trips, and we travel a fair bit. Thanks to the travel company and in particular our travel specialist.

Thankfully they got the most important things right: we were reliably met at airports by guides who could communicate with us in our language (English); we always had our lodgings with included breakfast arranged; we had guides, vehicles and drivers, and really interesting activities arranged. The trip itself, 33 days in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, was an outstanding life experience full of a wonderful and fascinating array of sights, people, food, culture. There were some issues that came up which could have been avoided if the tour operator had been more attentive, and which caused us annoyance and occasional stress. It started with our first guide, in Hanoi; they never told us they were switching us to a different guide than the one listed in our itinerary; they never gave our guide a copy of our itinerary; the guide we got was sweet enough but very inexperienced, did not adequately understand her responsibility to keep us safe, did not manage our time well, lost her phone and led us to feel we needed to take care of her instead of vice versa, deviated from our itinerary although that was really the fault of the tour operator who never gave her a copy of it (which we did when we realized the problem), and - probably due to a language skills gap - lied about whether we would get a bathroom stop in a 3-hour car ride and then tried to fix it so she made a stupid fruitless detour through Hanoi in rush hour en route to the airport to unsuccessfully look for a restroom even though she was told not to, and fail to adequately adjust to accommodate a member of our tour group with balance issues.
Another issue was van transportation. We invariably got very comfortable vans for short trips between sites within a city, when it least mattered. But even though it was a luxury level vacation, several times we were provided with uncomfortable lower end older transit vans for longer road trips, and a couple of them didn’t have a full complement of seat belts - even after we complained and they told us it wouldn’t happen again. Also, none of the guides had microphones and my partner, who has hearing loss issues, often could not hear what they said on the vans. Our daily activity schedule proved to be unrealistic at times. Several times it was simply impossible to get to all the itinerary destinations, and even more often it was impossible to get the scheduled rest breaks in the middle of the day, and/or the daily activities ended much later at night than the itinerary schedule showed. As a result, we were often frazzled and tired, which undermined our ability to fully enjoy the trip. Some of the lodgings recommended by the tour operator, which we booked through them, were truly wonderful and memorable, but some were very disappointing and made us wonder if the tour operator had ever actually spent time checking them out in person. The resort in Ninh Binh in Vietnam was fabulous, with a terrific restaurant, but we didn’t get to enjoy it adequately because our guide didn’t get us there until almost 9 pm - when we were starving because we had again been unable to get through the itinerary schedule on time - and we had to leave right after breakfast the next morning. The hotel in Siem Reap is out of this world wonderful, with a good location, incredible decor, extraordinary service and excellent food; we were lucky to spend 4 nights there. We ended our trip at a resort on a cliff at Kata Noi beach in Phuket, where we got an upgrade to a huge comfortable suite with sunset views from its private porch. We also liked the hotel in Hue. But some of the other hotels were very disappointing, with mediocre (although always ample) breakfast food and spotty restaurant service (and due to our busy schedules we had to rely on eating in the hotels at times, as there was no time to venture further). The worst was the hotel in Chiang Mai in Thailand: location not near other restaurants and their dinner service very poor, room very dark and small; after one night, we checked ourselves out and moved to a more reliable luxury hotel at our own expense even though we had already paid for the other hotel and we understood we could not get a refund.
Most of our scheduled prepaid activities were fabulous bu there were a few glitches that could have been avoided by a more attentive tour operator. The first glitch was the water puppet show; we were promised that we could meet with puppeteers to learn more about it afterwards but this didn’t happen (nor could it because another show was scheduled to start right after ours), and the Hanoi guide didn’t know it was on the itinerary nor even that it could be arranged. This was a highlight experience much anticipated by my partner, a retired theater and TV designer/technician with experience in puppetry, and had been personally discussed beforehand on the phone with the tour operator, who had assured us it would be included. The tour guide said it was impossible and even laughed (nervously) at my partner when he insisted; he got angry at her, which was very awkward; she then called her contact with the tour operator company and they got us tickets to another water puppet show, with a backstage interview with puppeteers afterwards, the next night. In the end, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing two different water puppet companies and the backstage interview, but the whole snafu was extremely awkward with the tour guide caught in the middle - and also meant our scheduled Hanoi street food tour the second night had to be abbreviated to a stop in a crowded restaurant for a $3-4 bowl of pho after the second show.We totally enjoyed the many performance opportunities we had in our schedule: two fantastic circuses (in Saigon and Siem Reap), a couple of traditional dance performances with dinners, etc. The Royal Lunch in Hue was really a sort of theatrical experience, with artistically presented food that was also top quality.
A highlight for us was the 2-day boat cruise on the Mekong River from Luang Prabang to the Thai border. I enjoyed the beautiful hotel on the hill in Pak Beng, but the tour operators should have warned us that it was on a steep mountain with many stairs and could present accessibility issues - which it did for my travel companions, one of whom fell and was pretty badly bruised with a loosened tooth.
