Zicasso's tour partner was a true professional. Even in this time of post-Covid, White Lotus tourism demand in Italy, she constructed a perfect 14-day, eight-city tour. If you work with her, get an idea of what you envision and then put the planning in her hands. Do not let the advice of friends or guide books overrule this. The "road book" you will receive will detail your experience, but you will begin to realize the expertise she brings to this as you live it, and I have told her so.

The drivers and guides were spot-on; some were exceptional, all were very pleasant. You learn as you chat that the agency demands the best. It’s not inexpensive, but as I began to notice not one available parking space in some cities for days, I knew this was the right way to travel, even in this tourist-friendly place.

The cooking class in Taormina, which I feared would be touristy, was an entertaining group experience. Oh, this is a little embarrassing as we are very well traveled, but the lady who whisks you through Fiumicino airport in Rome, acquiring a VAT refund and all, was a saint.

All together, well done.

The Zicasso tour company did a nice job planning out the trip and had a person available on WhatsApp until 7pm each day if there were any questions. They were responsive and handled things.

There was a little bit of confusion with the guides about what was included and already paid for on a particular day tour, but it was cleared up when we contacted the agency. It happened a few times, so I am not sure if it was a mistake on the driver's or the agency’s part.

When it comes to flights, I understand that erring on the side of caution is good, but having us get to the airport three hours early was overkill. At Inverness airport, they wouldn't even let us check in at Logan Air until two hours before the flight. When we flew out of Shannon at the end, we insisted they change the pick-up for the airport so we would get there two hours beforehand, which was plenty of time. I don't fault the company for this, but it may be good for them to consider not having their clients arrive too early at the airports unless the clients prefer that.

All that being said, I would use this travel agency again and appreciated the itinerary they put together, the friendly guides for our daily excursions, and their responsiveness when we reached out to them.

Zicasso’s travel company was outstanding. I highly recommend our travel agent. She listened to our ideas and provided good ones of her own based on her wealth of experience living and traveling in Italy. Every tour she planned was educational and enjoyable. The drivers she reserved for us were safe and drove comfortable cars.

We especially appreciated having the train and tour tickets all purchased ahead of time and the car rental and hotels prepaid. Our agent even checked us in ahead of time for the one train that required check-in. She also found perfect, well-run hotels and inns for us, located within five to 10 minutes of restaurants.

We would use our agent again in a heartbeat.

This was a bucket-list trip for me and the Zicasso travel company truly took it over the top. They were responsive to my many questions and handled any hiccups with ease (like me misreading an email to be a certain amount total instead of per person).

When we discussed dates, they made recommendations to ensure we could pack in as much as possible without being affected by free museum days.

While on the trip, we experienced train delays and they made sure we were settled in getting on the right train and that the hotel was ready for our late check-in.

The communication was seamless, the activities were perfect, the hotels were beautiful and didn't feel like a chain, and the food recommendations were divine.

I cannot praise them enough. They will be my first call when we return to Italy and I have told everybody how wonderful the company is.

My sister and I had a wonderful trip to Italy thanks to our travel agent. He accommodated our specific requests and put together a very busy itinerary that allowed us to see a great deal in 11 days, which is exactly what we wanted.

He selected individual tours that were excellent and offered more than the typical tours I have experienced in Italy. That made a big difference to the quality of our experience.

I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to Zicasso’s travel agent and her company. I began the process of planning this trip over a year ago. She walked me through every step and was very patient with me as I changed the itinerary. We had two pre-departure meetings, which were very helpful. Our agent had every detail well planned out and basically organized a dream vacation for my mom and me. It was all well balanced between the touristy sights, off-the-beaten-path experiences, and having time getting lost in the streets. Physically I'm back home, but mentally I'm still in Italy living la dolce vita.

Our trip was extremely well organized and all the tour guides did a wonderful job. We loved the hotel in Syracuse and Taormina was stunning. We are sorry we did not take the tour of Mount Etna.

We enjoyed the cooking class, but have not received the info promised from the class.

Our driver was extremely professional and pleasant, and her driving skills were perfect.

We did not enjoy Palermo. I guess we should have done more research as I thought Palermo was going to be like Rome. We did not like the staff at the hotel in Palermo. They had a totally different attitude to those in the previous two cities.

The food was very good and breakfast at the first two hotels was amazing.

My husband played gold in all three cities and enjoyed it.

Zicasso’s tour company attended to every detail of our trip to Italy with evident care and consideration based on our pre-travel discussions.
