I could not be any happier with this travel company.
The travel planner was wonderful to work with and really listened to what we were looking for on our trip to Italy. She delivered what I expecting and so much more. I highly recommend using this company if you are looking for an unforgettable trip to Italy.
Our trip to Italy (33 days) was flawless. All of the
drivers and tour guides assigned to us were kind and enthusiastic. We are totally satisfied with what this travel company did for us. Our contact there were two travel designers. They both answered all our questions without hesitation. We found them both to be professional at what they did. We don’t think our trip could have gone any better.
My wife and I decided to go to Italy for our honeymoon.
Since neither of us has visited Italy before, we wanted to recruit professional help with the planning and execution. After having initial conversations with two agencies recommended by Zicasso, we went with this travel company. We were paired with our sales representative / consultant. There was an immediate connection between our consultant, my wife and myself. Her patience, attention to detail and overall great personality made the planning process not only smooth but fun and exciting. From the time we landed in Venice to the time we left for the States in Rome, the trip was everything we could have hoped for and more. The itinerary that the travel consultant built for us with our feedback, the hotel venues, the transportation and logistics and the tours were all perfect. Everything ran smoothly like clock work. We were never lost and in the event we had any questions or concerns, Our consultant's contacts at the local office were ready to assist. My wife and I always felt safe and taken care of that enabled us to enjoy our honeymoon fully and stress-free.
My husband and I worked closely with this travel agency
at this tour company to plan our first trip to Italy; in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the most amazing and memories forever time in Italy visiting Rome, Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Capri. A wonderful visit to this amazing country; all from the exquisite planning of this tour company; their expertise, knowledge and professional way was all top notch. Our chosen hotels were beyond beautiful and all of our adventures superb. I would highly recommend this travel company and we look forward to working with them again in the future; when we return for another adventure in Italy. Thank you again!
We have taken a number of custom tours through Zicasso,
including India, Southeast Asia, and Portugal. In each of these, our travel company was based in the area we were touring, and every detail of the trip was coordinated by that company. When we selected this travel company (from among several very fine companies proposed by Zicasso) to organize our tour of Northern Italy, our chief concern was that the company is based in the United States, far from where we would be should problems arise. We soon learned that our travel planner continually monitors her clients’ tours to ensure that all proceeds according to plan. A native Italian, she has comprehensive and intimate knowledge of every region of Italy, including areas quite off the beaten track where we intended to go. She has a vivacious personality and a genuine interest in getting to know her clients and understanding their travel styles and preferences. While she was charting out our itinerary, we stayed in touch by phone or email, working out all of the details. The trip she planned for us involved stays in seven cities, starting in Genoa, looping south through Cinque Terre and Florence, turning westward through Bologna and Parma, and finishing in Torino (all cities besides Florence were new to us). She booked all transfers and hotels, working with several local travel companies. The entire tour was indeed fantastic in every way, and went without a hitch. We had contact information for the local companies, and on the few occasions when we needed to be in touch with them (for example, when our boat tour of Cinque Terre had to be postponed because of bad weather), they were absolutely responsive and reliable. All of the drivers were punctual and personable, and even those who professed not to speak English spoke quite a bit and were eager to point out sites and provide interesting background information. Hotels were all first-rate and very well located (always an important criterion for us).
Our planner booked walking tours in each of the cities we visited, and all of these tours were wonderful and essential to our experience. Otherwise, we were on our own in each of the cities to explore as we saw fit. Since we know Europe quite well and are comfortable with European languages, this worked out very well. (It’s less likely that we’d try this approach in other parts of the world.) We took a fabulous day trip from Genoa exploring the western Italian Riviera and Monaco without a guide but only a driver, who took us from place to place and even to some places that he didn’t know but that we had read about. On days when we were transferring from one city to another we tried to stop at points of interest along the way. For example, on our way from Bologna to Parma we stopped in Modena to tour the Casa Pavarotti, the Ferrari Museum, and the medieval city center. It’s important to note that we could not have done such a tour on our own with a rental car. Parking would have been next to impossible in many of the places we visited. We were able to get out and explore while the driver waited and picked us up at a pre-appointed spot. our travel planner also booked several excellent specialty tours, including an unforgettable private sunset boat tour of Cinque Terre and a small-group tour outside Parma (just four people) featuring locations where Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto are produced.
Our planner was very helpful and patient with us as our plans developed. When we found out that tickets were available for a performance of Aida at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto (outside Parma) on a certain date, she reworked the schedule to make sure we would be there. This was not a trivial matter, since the timeframe was narrow and hotel reservations for the hotels we wanted were not readily available. We appreciated the way she willingly took on the challenge and got back to us quickly with a revised schedule that worked out perfectly. She is truly a gem.
The cost for this trip, not inexpensive, was nevertheless a very good value. The planner worked with us to tweak the program so as to keep it reasonably on budget. Our tour of Northern Italy was truly a dream vacation. Having been to Italy a number of times, there are still areas that we have not explored. If and when we plan another trip, we hope to do it through the travel company.
We had a fantastic time in Milan and Florence. Hotels were
right in the historic districts and walkable to everything. Tours were informative and all skip the line. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Van drivers were always on time, courteous, and spoke English.
our trip to Italy. We began our visit in Venice. Our hotel was in St. Marks Square - the perfect location to dine, shop, walk, and see the sights. We enjoyed a private Gondola ride with a knowlegable guide. Spent an afternoon on Murano island and watched glass blowing specialists. Our absolute favorite experience in Venice was our private tour of the Doges Palace by a gentleman. He was engaging, excited, passionate, and experienced. Our next stop was Florence. (our favorite location) Our hotel was perfect. We had a wonderful rooftop restuarant and excellent service. Nightly we could step outside, walk to get some gelato and listen to street perfomers who played string instruments. It was like being at a private concert on the streets of Florence. We visited some wineries, a monastary, had wonderful meals, walked in a small town marketplace, and immersed ourselves in the culture of Italy. We went on a walking tour of Florence and learned of artists, government officals, princesses, and soccer teams. We could have walked all night. Our next stop was Rome. We had a nice hotel (more modern than the other hotels) close to the Tiber river. We walked through Rome, enjoyed the Colosseum, was fasinated by the Vatican, and enjoyed more gelato. In our 9 days of travel, we fell in love with the culture and people of Italy. We hope to return one day and spend some more time in Florence and is surrounding areas.
Our travel planner walked us through everything. My now
husband and I started planning this honeymoon a year before we left for the trip. She asked what we wanted to do while in Italy but always kept in mind that we were on our honeymoon and gave us free time while packing in the tours we wanted to do. She gave us multiple options to fit our price range and even made 2 itineraries for us that included 3 star and 4 star hotels. The travel planner was always telling us that if we needed anything to let her know and relied to our emails promptly even with the 7 hour difference between us. The itinerary that we received was laid our day by day and accommodation by accommodation. Each tour, hotel, and train ticket was on a different page and every ticket/voucher that we needed was with the accommodation that it corresponded to. If we ever do make it back to Italy we will be using this travel agency again.Thank you, travel planner, for all of our help.
We had the best time in Italy! Everyone we worked with at
the company was responsive, very helpful and so friendly! We wanted to specifically take a food and wine trip, and everything they lined up for this was perfect. I was afraid some of the tours would be a bit cheesy or super touristy, and they were neither! Everything was super fun!
Zicasso and this tour company helped us to experience a
fantastic vacation in the south of Italy. Every detail was planned and nothing was missed. The hotels were beautiful and well located in the cities we visited. The guides and drivers were professional and informative. We most certainly never went hungry or thirsty. We were treated to very authentic experiences not otherwise available. The company was very responsive when we experienced a minor hiccup when our scheduled train was cancelled. It was nice to know that we were well supported if anything went awry. I highly recommend both Zicasso and this tour company.
