One Week South Island, New Zealand Itineraries

Zicasso’s travel company planned an amazing honeymoon for us. We worked with our travel agent and all her recommendations were great! We had several phone calls with her and communicated a lot via email to fine-tune our itinerary ahead of time. She was very patient with all our changes.

We also enjoyed the app, which helped us keep track of everything in one place (flights, tours, hotel details, documents).

If we were to do it over, we would probably reduce the hours on buses and vans by perhaps flying, for example, from Christchurch to Queenstown.

We loved our Māori cultural evening and the Redwoods evening light show in Rotorua.

We wondered why we were collected at 8am and driven to the airport in Rotorua, where we ended up spending over six hours at the airport, leaving little time to spend in Christchurch that day. It did not make any sense to us.

We loved Queenstown and the accommodation at our hotel in Queenstown. Queenstown was the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, and beyond anyone's control, our kayaking trip was cut short due to windy weather and we were unable to do the glacier heli-hike in Franz Josef, also due to weather conditions, leaving us with a lot of time in a much less desirable town and our worst accommodation for nearly two days.

The rail adventure was superb.

Zicasso’s travel specialist (and her travel company) were great! She crafted an itinerary specific to what we were looking for and it certainly delivered! We had a great time, with no hiccups, other than a rainout of a kayak trip, and you can’t control the weather. Even then, she acted quickly to work with us on an alternate plan.

Zicasso’s travel agent really listened to what we were looking for and tailored the trip accordingly. She offered multiple choices for accommodations and activities, and adjusted the itinerary until we were satisfied. When there was an issue with a booking, the travel company went above and beyond to fix it. The travel company was also available during our trip to help problem-solve as the need arose. She was flexible when we asked to change the itinerary mid-trip and was very accommodating.

Zicasso’s travel agent did a great job setting up our itinerary to meet our wants and adjusted it as we requested. They also selected excellent hotel locations, with most of them being walkable to our activities or nearby dinner spots.
