Talk about the trip of a lifetime. Our trip was magical, memorable, and worry-free. Our travel designer from the travel company helped us plan our two-week honeymoon and it was better than we could have ever imagined. He spent so much time and effort in creating the perfect and unique trip for us. He listened to our preferences, priorities, and concerns, and tailored the trip to what we were looking for. Even with COVID changing our initial plans, he was right there with a great backup option and was always available for a phone call to discuss and adjust our plans. When we wanted to change around a couple of aspects of the itinerary (for example, a different hotel for part of the trip) he had multiple backup options.Going to Africa a few days after getting married, during a global pandemic, was a challenge. However, the designer and the staff in Tanzania made the trip seamless and relaxing. Once we got to Tanzania, we felt like we were always being looked out for and always well taken care of. Our safari driver was exceptional. He was so fun to travel with and always found the best spots for us to view wildlife on our game drives. He was fun, kind, knowledgeable, and he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and protected. After a week of safari, we got to end our trip in Zanzibar. Although the weather was spotty, the resort had so much to offer. Our villa was beautiful with a private pool, the food was wonderful, and the pool/beach were incredible. Our honeymoon package included a massage and a private beachfront dinner. The staff was always available to help and went out of their way to be hospitable. Some family members decided to surprise us with additional experiences throughout our honeymoon as a wedding gift. We only learned after how helpful our travel designer was with putting the surprises together and helping them pick out memorable, special, and romantic experiences. We look back on our trip so fondly and highly recommend the travel team. We so appreciate that he made sure to follow up with us after our trip and couldn't wait to hear about it and help us relive our favorite moments.

This was a complicated trip to plan which we spent a year planning. The travel company planned the middle three weeks of a five week trip. We planned one week on either end, coordinating all the way on both ends for a smooth transition into the travel company middle portion at the beginning and out of the company portion at the beginning of our last week. All of the transitions were executed flawlessly, on both ends.Once we gained a greater appreciation how critical these interfaces were, we expressed over and over to ourselves how fortunate our choice of this travel company to help us plan this adventure for our family had been. Two weeks before our departure, developments with the Omicron variant over Thanksgiving weekend caused us concern, not over the virus but with travel bans various countries were imposing on visitors to certain Southern Africa countries. The travel company gave us non-hurried counsel and advice, leading us to make a strategic decision to substitute Jordan for South Africa in a move that enabled us to complete our entire journey without a single border-crossing problem. At a time when the trip details should already have been finalized, the company helped to make this last-minute change at a financial cost to them and expenditure of uncompensated time and effort.Even after the travel company portion of the trip was over, one person in our group of 12 tested positive, precluding that person and myself from moving to the next country. I contacted the travel company as well as other resources for advice and assistance. The company’s advice has been the most helpful.Even on routine planning for the trip, the principals of the company helped us plan a trip for our families that several expressed to us was flawless and far exceeded expectations. The travel company certainly exceeded our expectations. We could continue describing examples of how pleased we are with our decision to choose this company, but we hope these few will suffice. From beginning to end, the travel company was committed to doing what was best for us, not what was best for them.

The trip was great - everything we wanted it to be! The travel designer was very responsive in adjusting our itinerary to make sure that we got the experiences and accommodations that we wanted in each of the four locations we went. The transports that the designer arranged were very professional, friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable. This was the perfect way to plan and spend our honeymoon!

Our first Safari trip to South Africa fulfiled all of our dreams and expectations and then some. We had the trip of a lifetime and most of the credit goes to the travel team. From helping with the initial planning to making last minute changes they were fabulous. We were always made to feel very comfortable, from meeting us at every airport to assist with transport to reschedualing side trips to better meet our needs the travel team was on top of it all. We would not have had as good a trip as we did with out there help and guidence.

Cannot say enough good things. 5++. Originally I had thought about ending our safari time with a trip to Madagascar, but our travel planner steered us to Zanzibar and that turned out great. When we arrived at Arusha, our greeter met us at the plane doors at the top of the stairs. My wife was having some balance issues, so he helped her down the stairway and commandeered a wheelchair for her. He whisked us through the three health stations and helped retrieve our luggage before we met our driver who sped us off to a coffee lodge. We stayed were a couple of days to accustom ourselves to the time change. Our travel planner saw that we had the cabin closest to the restaurant. They communicated those instructions to the other lodges as well, so my wife didn’t have far to walk to our lodgings. All of the properties we used as safari bases were wonderful. The levels of service were outstanding – the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great time. Our travel planner had arranged for the same driver/guide to accompany us for the first three lodges. Ali was terrific in adjusting the touring to fit us and in finding game. Besides the usual big five and grazers, we spotted cheetah on the hunt, a python crossing the road, and flamingos (as well as countless other birds). Our favourite of the safari lodges was near the Ngorongoro Crater. Every night we had a fire in the fireplace. After daily safari outings, there was a hot bubble bath with flower petals waiting in the claw-foot tub, and sweet & savoury snacks. The dinners were white table cloth affairs with top-notch cuisine. Our internal flights were well managed. No major snafus. When we arrived at our Serengeti lodge, the welcome was even warmer. We really enjoyed sundowners on the upper terrace, even when a serval jumped on our table and helped himself to a chicken wing. Besides seeing the wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River (until the crocs brought one down), a leopard and her two cubs, and a lioness and her four cubs, we finally were lucky enough to see and touch a pangolin. That’s been on my list for a long time. Our final stop on Zanzibar was like a trip to paradise. Every morning we called our butler and let him know what to bring to our sitting room for breakfast. Our bedroom overlooked the Indian Ocean and one of our two plunge pools. We mainly relaxed for five glorious days. Our travel planner had even arranged for a doctor to come and administer our COVID tests in our room so we didn’t need to make the 45 minute journey to the nearest clinic. Usually my wife is ready to return home near the end of a long vacation, but on this trip she agreed that we could stay another week – no problem. If we return to Africa for a fourth safari, we definitely will be calling Danni and Karen .Danni and Karen are a great team.

Our trip to South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia was an amazing trip having a large variety of sites, from cities to waterfalls (Victoria Falls) to wild animals in three different game parks and amazing desert colors. We did a lot of travelling, mostly by small charter planes. The basic itinerary was developed by us with a lot of input from our agent, Tanya, who finalized it and arranged all the accommodations, guides, travel arrangements, hotels, game parks etc. Not only were all the arrangements complete and met our requirements, but during the trip she constantly stayed in touch with us and was on top of every step of the way, including unforeseen changes (e.g., delay in flights). We travel frequently around the world, and this was one of our most successful trips.

Our trip was beyond amazing and despite all the issues we could have had traveling during COVID, because of Simon and his team’s help, everything went absolutely perfectly!! I would book with them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to others!! We had never used a travel agent before but thought due to COVID and the fact that this trip was more involved than previous trips we have taken, it might be helpful to have someone guide us through each step. I absolutely know this trip would not have even come close to comparing to the incredible experience we had without the help of this travel company.

This Africa travel company provided excellent communication, recommendations, and service from our initial contact through a follow-up post-trip. We originally booked this trip in 2019 for 2020 prior to the onset of Covid, which led to many uncertainties and changes until it was finally executed in 2021. Canceled flights and changes by a Zambia carrier proved to be challenging for all, but our travel company was monitoring this and took immediate action to resolve connections and lodging issues with each change. Flights going and coming from Africa were not full and the same was true for many internal flights. The exception was for the Zambia flights so one might presume that a canceled flight today would mean a fuller flight tomorrow. The actual execution of our trip went off perfectly and we were very pleased. We felt we were in great hands and well supported if there had been flight issues etc. while en route.
This was our third trip to Africa and we've been on safari for all three. This trip was well organized and there were many transfers and flights involving four different countries in Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). At this time, each border crossing required a PCR test for Covid, so our travel planner had to help us coordinate this as well, in order to make this trip possible. At every transfer point, a representative met us to help navigate the local procedures and facilitate movement to our next flight, hotel, border crossing, etc. If we'd been on our own we'd likely have figured this out, but not with the efficiency and knowledge of the processes and procedures that this staff had. Their presence provided an enormous time saving, efficiency, and made the trip less stressful because we knew someone would tell us what to do next. Who would expect for example that we'd be required to clear security prior to checking in for our next flight? Or that baggage would be dropped at the door we'd just entered in the airport vs. another baggage claim area. In Johannesburg, we were quickly escorted for about a 15 minute walk to the lobby of our hotel. It's a large airport and not having to figure it out after a lengthy flight from the USA made this easy and added value.
Team Charles, Sarah, and Karen listened to what we wanted on our trip, and instead of focusing just on Botswana and Victoria Falls, they recommended Zambia as well. For Victoria Falls, we were told Zimbabwe is where we wanted to be. Advice was also provided for the Visa for Zambia/Zimbabwe. Our accommodations were all excellent. We actually benefited substantially with lodging upgrades and private vehicles and guides by traveling to Africa while most are staying home due to Covid. We were comfortable at camps with staff that were vaccinated at all but one of our five camps, masking, social distancing, and sanitization. Significant effort is being made to keep the few travelers visiting safe, so tourism may return sooner vs. later. At one of our airports, the restroom stalls in either Botswana or Zambia were being cleaned after every use! With this said, we've encouraged friends to mask up and consider travel now or in the next six months if they have the opportunity.
We strongly recommend working with this Africa travel company and felt that the presence of staff both in the USA and Africa helped. For this trip, we took a chance as our decision was between doing a trip with this company and with another travel company we've booked with numerous times. We went with this company because it was based on our desired itinerary and we'd be on our own in camps vs. being with a group. My spouse was particularly concerned about this aspect with covid and all the itinerary changes we'd seen prior to the trip, but in the end, we were both extremely satisfied with the end result and format of the trip. We would gladly book another trip through this company.

Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe Luxury Safari Review: Cape Town, Robbin Island, Table Mesa Mountain, Victoria Falls
From the moment I talked with Charles, I knew I made the right decision on a travel agent. He was extremely helpful in coming up with an itinerary that would cover everything that I wanted to do plus a few other suggestions. Since our trip was scheduled for 2020, we of course needed to postpone due to COVID and Charles was very helpful about getting our trip postponed to 2021. There was so much angst about whether we should postpone again till 2022 but with Charles' gentle nudging and reassurance we decided to go this year and I am so happy we did. I think we had an experience that was probably pretty unique because literally there is no one traveling to Africa. We were upgraded at many places, were the only ones at the camp on a few occasions, and there were some flights where we were the only ones or maybe a couple of other people with us.
We had a wonderful time in Cape Town exploring the wine country, a drive down to Cape of Good Hope, a ferry ride to Robbin Island (where Nelson Mandela served part of his prison sentence), and visited the prison. We also visited Table Mesa Mountain and the botanical gardens. I think we spent just the right amount of time there, three and half days.
From there we traveled to Botswana and stayed in three different safari camps for eight nights. This being our first trip to Africa, I think Botswana was the perfect place for our introduction. We were to see so many animals; each day was so exciting because every day you don't know what you are going to see.
From Botswana, we traveled to Zambia where we saw Victoria Falls; one of the seven wonders of the world. It is an amazing sight!!
Then it was on to Zimbabwe, where we stayed at our final safari camp.
By far, this has been one of the best trips we have ever taken. We have been to many countries around the world, but this is at the top of the best.
