Day 1
Chobe – Stepping Under the Sky
Today you begin to understand the endless romance that sits in and under the African sky. Once in Johannesburg you will find yourself soaring through the day once more on a short journey to Kasane, Botswana. The town sits next to Chobe National Park, a mixture of elegant river, remarkable floodplains, and vibrant trees, where the landscape is equally as dynamic as the wildlife it houses. The entire park encompasses more than 19,700 square miles and is home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, numbering around 30,000.
From the graceful shimmer of sunlight along the riverfront to the swaying trees, you feel nothing but comfort within the charming landscape. When you come to Kubu Lodge, you find the majesty of the river at your doorstep, overlooking the sensational landscape from the restaurant or from your private balcony. Your room offers you the combination of romantic seclusion and the majesty of wildlife that stretches along the riverbank; from hippo to elephant, impala to buffalo, you can witness the elegant display of nature within the luxuries of the lodge.
In the late afternoon you can climb aboard a river cruise and venture out onto the water. The sunset brings a stunning wash of oranges and reds to the horizon while you watch over the boat to find wiggling ears and popping bubbles within the stretch of grassy marsh at the center of the wide waterway. The hippos sit submerged, soaking their bodies and protecting their delicate skin from the remaining sun as you watch the last of the day’s light retreat.

Detailed Description
Set along the riverbanks of Chobe River and winding through the waterways of the Okavango Delta is the natural majesty of Africa, the iconic images of a safari, and your romantic getaway. On this 7-day tour of Botswana you will journey through various forms of exploration, over land and water, to find the true romance of the wild. From secluded candlelit dinners to private guided canoe trips, you will discover lions and hyenas, giraffes and baboons within the marshlands and riverbanks. Experience the wonder and romance all beneath the unparalleled stretch of African sky.
Your fabulous getaway begins with your arrival in Kasane, located at the edges of Chobe National Park. The Chobe River runs along the lush landscape creating floodplains set beneath the woodlands. Within the park you will find the most concentrated population of elephants in all of Africa, giving you the opportunity to witness their regal stature up close. Your view of the riverbanks, whether on a boating tour or simply from the comforts of your room, will give you total romantic seclusion, and a personal panorama of the remarkable scenery.

From the marsh grass to the trees, you will venture through the watery paths on a canoe, enjoy walking tours along the delta’s highest island, and witness the unquestionable splendor apparent to you before the plane even lands. On the seventh day of your travels you will make the journey home by way of Johannesburg, but soaring through the African sky will always continue to bring extraordinary romantic memories.

Our special trip surpassed all of our expectations!
We had a large group wanting to go on safari and started planning around a year in advance. We also had small children coming with us and we were celebrating a milestone birthday! My first call was with Zicasso’s travel agent, who had the best enthusiasm and confidence in delivering what we wanted. The other travel partner was my main point of contact afterwards and she probably ended up answering at least 10,000 questions for me!
Each moment of the trip was specially curated and special. They did a great job finding camps that would give us a unique experience rather than becoming redundant. The hospitality at the camps and accommodations were unique and comfortable. We were all so happy with how everything went! We would definitely use this travel company again for our travel needs!

We had an amazing trip, planned by Zicasso's travel partner. This is the first time I've ever used a travel agent and I'll admit, I was nervous. She took all of our feedback into consideration while planning. I highly recommend!

The trip was carefully planned and we received optimal assistance throughout the trip and constant availability and monitoring during the journey. Our Zicasso travel agent was very professional and always available to respond to our requests and needs. The choice of hotels was excellent and reflected the expectations. The activities offered in the different locations were very well structured and the guides were of high quality, particularly those in Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta.

We’re still not over our trip! Everything was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for organizing such a great experience and making it so effortless for me. I already have family and friends asking who I went through, and I’m guessing some of them will be reaching out to you in the next year.
I do have one small piece of constructive feedback about our camp in the Olifants West Nature Reserve. The staff, lodge, and food were wonderful, but unfortunately, the safari guide fell short. We had just come from the camp in the Thornybush Game Reserve (where we left our hearts—the guide there was truly exceptional, with such a great personality), so the difference stood out even more. At the Olifants West Nature Reserve camp, we saw very few animals and the guide didn’t engage much—he barely spoke, and when he did, it wasn’t very professional or kind, especially toward my son. My son even said the trip might have worked better in reverse, since after Botswana it was hard to adjust to seeing only a few animals a day.
That said, I’m so grateful for how smoothly you planned everything, especially on such short notice. It really was a trip of a lifetime for us.
Thank you again!
