Detailed Description

The world is different “Down Under,” filled with adventure, tradition, culture and the natural wonders of Australia. On your 12-day family vacation to Australia, you will find the wonders of the coastline and the excitement of treetops, beginning with your arrival in Cairns. The city is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, situated in northeastern Queensland. Your private guide meets you at the airport and takes the family to your comfortable hotel situated near the coast. Take the rest of the day to relax. The following morning, your private transfer escorts you to nearby Port Douglas, where you board your vessel taking you out to the glorious reaches of the Great Barrier Reef.

Spend the day visiting a number of sites along the largest reef in the world, experiencing the vibrant life with your family, and guided by a marine biologist. After breakfast, you make your way into the lush tropical rainforest, visiting the charming village of Kuranda. In the afternoon, you glide down the mountainside on the skyrail before visiting Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures for a guaranteed look at the spirited reptile. Your private transfer guides you from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock.

Once you land, your guide tours you around the famous monolith, explaining the legends of the landscape. In the evening, the family can spend time under the unadulterated starlight, pointing out the constellations to one another. Spend the first half of the day visiting the rustic scenery of Kata Tjuta, before traveling by plane to the contemporary city of Sydney. Spend time in the morning traversing Sydney Harbour on a bicycle tour, followed by a cruise around the harbor for an optimum view of the cityscape.

End your day with a guided tour of architectural beauty at the Sydney Opera House. The morning comes with your private surfing lesson at the famous shores of Bondi Beach. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy Sydney however you please. Journey to Tasmania where your private transfer escorts you from the airport into the treetops of Freycinet National Park for an exciting zipline tour. The next day, you make your way to the waters of Coles Bay for a sea kayaking excursion, and an afternoon hike to the lookout of Wineglass Bay between Mount Amos and Mount Mayson.

Visit a charming organic farm known for its berries, and explore a family owned winery with a private tasting for the adults and fun-filled activities for the kids. Continue to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to visit rescued animals, and a chance to view a Tasmanian devil. On Saturdays, you can enjoy a morning at the celebrated Salamanca Market before venturing to the sensational coastline of Tasman National Park. In the afternoon, you have a guided tour of Port Arthur, to explore the history of the 19th-century city. On your final morning in Tasmania, your private transfer meets you at the hotel and escorts you to Hobart International Airport for your flight home.

Australia Travel Review: Melbourne, Tamborine Mountain,...

I would use our travel company again in a minute! Zicasso's travel consultant really “got me” and designed the perfect trip for us.

The highlights especially included picking perfect places for us to stay (close to most everything we were doing and in the heart of the cities). The tours, both private and small group, gave us not only what we asked for, but even more that we didn’t know existed.

The itinerary was as detailed as it could possibly be, describing the day, what to bring, names and phone numbers to call if there were issues, and who we needed to call to confirm future tour dates.

One of our highlights was the penguin experience. Our guide was great and our trip planner got us “plus” tickets, which I would definitely recommend. Finally, she provided us with the necessary info and guides (where necessary) for our amazing hikes.

Zicasso's travel specialists were fantastic! They provided excellent and unique recommendations. As a traveler seeking adventure and outdoor experiences, they completely understood my needs. Additionally, all accommodations were high quality, communication was very clear, and pricing was reasonable. I would strongly recommend them to anyone traveling to Australia/New Zealand.

Australia, New Zealand Trip Review: Tasmania, Rotorua, Uluru,...

We absolutely loved so much of our trip! My kids’ (ages 11 and eight) favorite activities were luging in Rotorua, NZ, and the sunset camel ride in Uluru, AU, while my husband and I were enchanted by Hobbiton and enjoyed exploring a glowworm cave with the owner's father! We all loved Tasmania.

There were a few hiccups. However, we were very happy with all the support the Zicasso travel company's team provided in real time to help us get back on track.

The overall trip was fantastic. My husband and I appreciated having the team support our adventures, both the highs and the lows. The team members were detailed-oriented. This trip exceeded our expectations and we’re incredibly grateful for their expertise in curating such memorable experiences.

Australia Trip Review: Sydney, Uluru, Kakadu, Freycinet...

Zicasso's tour planner did a superb job for us. She collaborated with us on working out our itinerary and had useful information on how to combine our desired destinations efficiently.

While we were in Australia, she was available via the company's app, including helping us on a late evening when our flight from Sydney to Hobart was canceled because of a cyclone and we needed a short-notice hotel in Sydney.

Australia Vacation Review: 2 Weeks

Zicasso's travel company and our agent's team were phenomenal and very supportive, even when certain events were out of their control. They made everything on my trip to Australia simple, with excellent accommodations and activities laid out for me. They restored my faith in travel agencies and trip advisors. I had full confidence in them while visiting another country and will continue to refer anyone who is planning a trip to contact my agent's team for booking a memorable experience. Thank you to her and her delightful team.

I would highly recommend Zicasso's trip coordinator. He planned an excellent and very enjoyable trip for us (a family of five, including two teenage boys). He was very easy and accommodating to work with. The trip went smoothly and we have many great memories.
