Lima – In the Image of Colonial Spain
The city of Lima shimmers with a mixture of colonial facades and high rises, traditional cevicherias (seafood restaurants) and remarkable cliffs ascending above the Pacific Ocean. Remnants of Pre-Columbian temples rise along the sands near chic cafes and 18th-century plazas. Your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International Airport, where your private transfer greets you upon arrival. The remarkable mixture of historic streets and contemporary life spread from the gold-sand beaches to the mesmeric hills rising along the edges of the urban sprawl. You embrace the welcoming semi-sweet aroma of the ocean as you settle into a luxurious hotel in the bohemian neighborhood of Miraflores.
Your introduction to the vibrant city takes you beyond the hints of lemon emanating from the restaurants, dressing the celebrated ceviche. Your guide leads you to the marvelous cathedral in the neighborhood of San Isidro. The structure was first erected in the 1530s upon Spanish arrival to the city. The main portal at the center of the tripartite doorway contains Lima’s coat-of-arms and two slate spires of neoclassical design. The interior contains hints of myrrh drifting through the 14 chapels, connecting to the Square of the Orange Trees. We loved working with Zicasso’s travel specialist during the planning phase of this three-week trip to Argentina and Chile. She took the time to listen carefully to our trip goals, our “must-dos,” and our “don’t likes.” She helped us design our dream journey, put all the pieces together by working with her contacts in-country, was available for questions, provided her advice and guidance along the way, and made modifications as needed.
She was a pleasure to work with and we could tell that her main goal was to ensure we would have the trip we wanted and that everything would go as planned. She was also available during our trip in case anything went astray and ensured we had local contacts in case they were needed. We had the trip of a lifetime, and she made it happen for us. We are very grateful for her help and will definitely use her again for future trips.

This is the third trip we’ve booked through Zicasso and we’ve already booked our fourth for 2026.
Zicasso’s travel company did a great job.
We really enjoyed our trip to Argentina and Chile. All the hotels were great and the transfers went smoothly. We enjoyed the excursions. Some we liked better than others, but that’s to be expected. We really enjoyed our time in El Chalten, El Calafate, and Torres del Paine. The scenery was spectacular. Patagonia should be on everybody’s bucket list if they enjoy hiking and the great outdoors.
Thanks again to this travel company for setting everything up. We also really appreciated the service they provided during the trip. When we had a question or needed to move a couple of things around because of weather, they were easy to get a hold of and very helpful. That’s important, as there’s always something that comes up.
I would definitely recommend this travel company to anyone wanting a private, customized trip to Argentina and Chile.
