Galapagos Islands Tours for Seniors

I was guided well in weighing the pros and cons for my style of travel by Zicasso’s travel specialist. The vessel was a relatively new catamaran with low guest numbers, which I appreciated. The catamaran was wonderful, the food was great and diverse, and the staff was very attentive. Our guide was knowledgeable and ALWAYS on the lookout for wildlife on land and sea. The outings were well planned. A+++

This was a trip of a lifetime for us and Zicasso’s travel specialist helped make it run smoothly, with great support throughout our stay. The on-site guides on the mainland and in the Galápagos let us know what to expect each day and handled entrance fees and other details. The advanced planning for the mainland tour included engaging, creative, hands-on experiences like a cooking class and chocolate tour.

It was a magical, full family trip. We had very specific/limited dates we could travel to the Galápagos and Zicasso’s travel specialist found us a wonderful boat that met all our needs and dates. The time on the boat and islands was spectacular.

Zicasso’s travel company was the perfect company to partner with. The travel specialist helped our big group of eight couples, who wanted to charter a yacht for the Galápagos, feel excited and confident that we were planning the right trip for us. She was responsive and so well-versed in the area, and helped us plan and maximize our trip.

A group of six toured parts of Peru, including Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. When that portion of our trip was over, we went to Quito for one day and then onto a small cruise ship in the Galápagos. Every moment of the experience felt as if it were curated just for us. Most of the time, we went on tours with our guide and it was just the six of us. It was perfect because the guides could be flexible since it was just our group.

We had many guides and drivers in Peru, but we had a favorite guide and driver. The guide went so far above and beyond, it is hard to even explain. One example: we arrived by plane in Cusco around 8pm. None of us had been wise enough to eat lunch that day, so of course ,we were hungry. Unfortunately, we were not going to arrive at our hotel until just after 10, when the restaurant closed. Our driver called ahead, got the menu for us, helped us order, so it was ready when we arrived.

It was not just that. We were met after baggage at every destination and taken directly to our private van. Literally, every moment was accounted for from start to finish. We did so many tours in Peru and then went on a yacht in the Galápagos. This was an incredible yacht. The tour director accounted for our every need, even bringing us to a hospital because one member of the group was not feeling well due to a previous medical condition. The food was good. Our excursion guide was fantastic and seemed as excited about the animals as we were.
