Lima - International Arrival
Over the course of your week in this illustrious country, you will discover that Peru is a treasure trove of historical gems. Upon landing, you will meet your private ground transportation and journey to Lima's center, where you will settle in to your luxury hotel. You will spend the afternoon and evening hours traversing Lima's downtown at your leisure. You can amble along the shoreline in the city's opulent neighborhood of Miraflores. After visiting the beautiful Parque del Amor at sunset, you can choose from a variety of dining options, each with stunning views that overlook the Pacific.
Lima – Pisco Sour Tasting
This morning, you will join your expert guide in Lima's Plaza de Armas after breakfast for a comprehensive tour of the city's highlights. The first stop of your tour will bring you to the illuminated Plaza de Armas. During your tour, you will have the opportunity to step inside the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco of Lima to witness its elaborate interior and famed catacombs. You will then venture to the Torre Tagle Palace, which is an extraordinary example of Spanish architecture with its bright exterior and careful stonework. Lima – Discover Huaca Pucllana
In the morning, you will have a quick breakfast at your hotel before transferring to the ruins of Huaca Pucllana. This adobe and clay pyramid is reminiscent of the ancient culture, which pre-dates even the Incas and their most famous citadels, including Machu Picchu. After touring the pyramid, you will visit the central plaza and stone walls along the outer edge. Today, you will embark on a day-long cruise to the alluring island of Isla Palomino. Here, you will witness the island’s incredible scenery in addition to being provided with the unique opportunity to witness some of the region's most spectacular sea life. As the sun begins to wane in the sky, you will return to the mainland, where you can rest your feet and enjoy the panoramic views from a luxurious cafe. You can relax with a small sampling of tapas or ceviche before indulging in other local favorites, such as escabeche de pescado, which is a sauteed medley of fish, peppers, onion, and cumin.
Cusco - Downtown Exploration
Today, you will soon find yourself on the edge of the Sacred Valley, ascending to the captivating city of Cusco, which is the jumping-off point to the famed ruins of Machu Picchu, which you will see tomorrow. Once your plane lands, you will be escorted to your luxurious accommodation. In the afternoon, you will venture into the city to explore its wonder.
