Detailed Description
Ancient Egypt will compel and confound you in equal measure. The experience immerses you in history as you will be surrounded by a forest of pillars in Karnak Temple, watch shards of light dance through Abu Simbel, and stand alone in a lavishly decorated tomb. From the Great Pyramids of Giza to the Valley of the Kings, Egypt’s ancient world is unparalleled. The history feels alive and the ambiance is as old as the pharaohs. Yet, there is something more recent that makes Egypt even more compelling. It is the serenity. Luxury travel to Egypt has an escapist element that is epitomized by a cruise up the River Nile. While there are many sights, the pace can be slow, which ensures that you will feel what the monuments mean to our planet.
This luxury tour will take a classic route through the country, as it will incorporate all the famous sites and experiences in ten days of travel. Most excursions will be privately led by skilled Egyptologist guides, who will plan your arrival to avoid congregations of tour buses. Hotels will be superbly located as you gaze out over the history, such as a boutique Giza hotel with a view of the pyramids. Guides will greet you at every airport and most days will be customized depending on your interests that day. Over ten days you will settle into the tranquil rhythm of Ancient Egypt, rather than be overwhelmed by the pace of the modern day, which will allow you to fully appreciate the wonders of antiquity.
You will start in Cairo where the pyramids are a timeless introduction to Ancient Egypt. Then, spend a day in the old lanes of Coptic Cairo before you will take a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum. The next day, you will fly to Luxor to explore where the sun rises on the eastern bank, home to two fabled temples. Afterward, you will take a hot air balloon above the Valley of the Kings at sunrise, then wander through an astonishing open-air museum. You will then start your two-day cruise to Aswan, your journey punctuated by ancient temples along the Nile’s banks. In Aswan you will have a day to discover the sights and a day dedicated to the atmosphere of the oasis. The next day you will fly to the Abu Simbel temples before you return to Cairo, where your hotel stands opulently above the River Nile.

Zicasso’s travel specialist more than lived up to the many favorable reviews the company has earned. He was receptive and responsive to my requests and used the considerable input I offered to create an itinerary that translated my goals into an itinerary that was flawlessly executed. The drivers and guides assigned all were excellent, and the pampering we received from our arrival to our departure made all of our travel comfortable and seamless.
We were treated to some VIP extras that elevated our experiences and when we encountered a problem onboard the river cruise part of our trip, he and his staff were able to address them on short notice and on a weekend. It is perhaps conventional to tell a customer one is available 24/7, but that truly was the case with the travel company. When circumstances warranted altering the planned itinerary, it was accomplished deftly. This flexibility was much appreciated and truly helped make our trip even more memorable than initially anticipated.
We have friends who expressed their envy at our trip plans and their desire to visit Egypt. My wife and I certainly will share with them our thoughts and views about the wonderful services the travel company provides.

The trip was excellent from start to finish. Zicasso’s travel specialist perfectly understood us—what we wanted to see, how we wanted to travel, and the types of places in which we wanted to stay. The travel company was outstanding. Their goal was that if there were any problem, it was theirs and not ours to handle.

The trip was excellent. We really had a great time! The "ground staff" (drivers, airport greeters, etc.) were terrific. We had four guides.
Our hotel in Abu Simbel and our hotel in Cairo were great.
The cruise ship, the ship in Egypt, was wonderful. The food could have been better, but the entertainment, cleanliness, and staff were all first-rate.
The lady who led the food tour was wonderful. Her English was very good and she was very personable.
Our guide at Abu Simbel was terrific and knowledgeable, and able to find shade on a hot day.
Our guide in Cairo was very knowledgeable, although we struggled to understand everything he said. (Although his English was much better than our Arabic.) As we went to many of the great sites in Egypt, I wanted to buy souvenirs, but I wasn't able to get near the shops. I have heard that souvenir shop owners will, at times, try to rip off tourists, but I don't know if that was the only reason he wouldn't let us near one.
Our fourth guide in Luxor was also very good, personable, and intelligent. However, it was hot and we could have used a break in the shade. He was a lot younger and more fit than we were and didn't seem to notice we were struggling.
Thank you for putting this trip of a lifetime together for us. Ron is taking his grandson to Rome and is using Zicasso.

Zicasso’s tour operator and our guide were incredible. The trip could not have been more perfect!
We had extremely high expectations coming into this trip and this travel company exceeded them tenfold! We had a packed itinerary, but how it was planned never made it feel over the top. We saw everything we wanted to see, the movement throughout the country was seamless, and everyone we interacted with was incredible!
Our guide was single-handedly the best I have ever had on any tour ever in the world. Not hyperbole. She was beyond knowledgeable, but her adaptability to our group needs and desires to pivot on the fly just added a level of white-glove service that deserves seven stars. If you're booking with the tour operator (which you should), you'll be in the most amazing hands with her!

Every aspect of the trip was well organized and well executed, and everyone we interacted with was courteous, considerate, and knowledgeable. With Zicasso's tour company, we never had a moment's doubt that we were in good hands.
The guides were excellent, the drivers skilled and safe, the cars well maintained, seemingly safe, and comfortable. The hotels and the boat were at a very high standard and everything along the way was very clean and well maintained. Every transition was seamless and punctual, and everyone always seemed to be on the same page.
It was first rate all the way and we trusted the system without exception.
