Detailed Description
Southern Tanzania's treasures remain completely unspoiled and untouched. They offer an unforgettable adventure for couples, affording opportunities to completely escape amidst the most dramatic big game landscapes on the planet. On this sublime 12 night luxury Tanzania trip, you'll explore Africa's largest game reserve, Tanzania's most remote national park, and a concoction of surreal destinations that dazzle with untamed abundance. This is a real African adventure for two. Yet it's also unrestricted you-and-me time. There are no tourists and the romance is elevated by dozens of little touches. Spa treatments overlook hippo-filled plains, luxurious camps stand miles from any other building, candlelit dinners for two are part of the daily itinerary and they always come with a bewitchingly wild soundtrack. And while it's not as famous as other destination, Southern Tanzania doesn't have any less of the wildlife. These unexplored landscapes not only combine an abundance of classic sights with elusive delights, it's more intimate when there are no other people around.
Kick off the adventure in Mikumi National Park, an iconic African landscape that feels a little like an undiscovered Serengeti. Tree-climbing lions, giraffe towers, wildebeest, zebra; Mikumi is alive with sublime first safari impressions, including an incredible abundance of eland, the world's largest antelope. The Udzungwa Mountains frame your safari adventure, a delightful backdrop of lush forested slopes; journey into these hills on day four. Black and white colobus monkeys cover the beautiful eco-camp, private walks reveal hypnotic scenes, and a tailored itinerary can include rock climbing, village tours, or wallowing in remote rainforest wilderness.
It's silent in Ruaha National Park. Then you turn a corner and a huge elephant herd emerges through the baobab trees, or a leopard brings a spine-tingling moment to the safari. This is the largest national park in Tanzania, an untrammeled terrain of safari adventure for two. Starlit dinners, cocktails in the bush, lions on a hunt, remote journeys; this is African safari encapsulated in three days of romance and unforgettable big game. And it's an almost completely exclusive experience. You and your partner are virtually alone in a national park widely regarded as Tanzania's best kept safari secret.
It gets better. A short scheduled flight catapults you into Africa's largest game reserve. Welcome to 50,000 square kilometers of undisturbed wilderness and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that bursts with authenticity. Leopards, cheetahs, lions, buffalo, hippos, elephants; the reserve offers a seemingly unlimited supply of the continent's classic sights. But Selous is also where you discover the rare and elusive, like Black rhino, wild dog, and endemic bird species. Explore on foot, by boat, and take long game drives that heighten the senses to the drama of the wild. As always, safari thrill mingles with classic scenes of romance. Dip in a private pool beneath the stars, enjoy massages with views over the plains, and clink the glasses to four days of exquisite safari adventure.

The travel company was outstanding. We received Exceptional service and attention to detail. Zicasso's tour company absolutely delivered on everything they promised. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, courteous, and professional guide than ours. He was simply extraordinary. The travel company and our trip coordinator had the entire trip meticulously organized.

Zicasso’s trip coordinator was very easy to work with. I asked for several modifications to the itinerary, which she handled expediently and everything went on without a hitch. The tour operator was excellent. They met with us "in the field" to answer any questions and I had a direct line to them in Tanzania for any issues. It was nice to deal with someone in the U.S. while in the planning stage. Not necessary, but definitely a luxury.

The trip was the best we have ever had. Africa is a very special place. Zicasso's travel expert did a fantastic job of organizing the itinerary. The only disappointment was that we were not scheduled to see the mass migration across the river.

The trip was exhilarating and the job done by our Zicasso travel agent was second to none.
Our trip was 20 days, with multiple locations, flights, and activities. Our agent arranged things so well, we hardly had to do anything. Guides and contacts always arrived on time and led us through each location efficiently and safely.
The gorilla trek in Rwanda was amazing. On safari, we saw the Big Five by the end of day two and saw many, many unique animal encounters. We did a walking safari one day, which was also a highlight. Our agent recommended the Lewa Conservancy as a stop and this was wonderful for seeing many black and white rhinos.
I would give our travel company a 10/10 for personal care and attention. I highly recommended them for a high-quality, memorable African adventure!
