Malaga - Enjoy Your Arrival in Malaga

Malaga is a classic, southern, coastal city in Spain, embodying the nickname “Costa del Sol”. Its soulful and colorful history spreads across beaches shimmering with golden sand and the history displayed in museums and art galleries exuded confidence grown from the refurbished port. Your private transfer will meet you at the airport upon your arrival and escort you to your centrally located accommodations for your first glimpse of life in the seaside city.

Energetic with life, the food culture combines traditional fishers’ shacks with Michelin-starred restaurants, local wine intertwines with a heritage of creativity, while Roman ruins overlook Moorish architecture. For an introduction to Malaga, you can visit Picasso’s birthplace at Casa Natal Picasso.

The house in Plaza de la Merced stands between the Roman Theater and Gibralfaro Castle, with the impressive history looming large over the neighborhood. The first floor features works by Jose Ruiz Blasco, Picasso’s father, offering a glimpse into the personal life and influences of the painter from a young age, leading to the family mementos and a third-floor library with aged leather-bound books, papers, and archive material of Picasso’s work and life.

In the evening, you can visit a famous wine and tapas restaurant to enjoy traditional cuisine using local, seasonal ingredients inside an 18th-century mansion. Musicians may play through the night, adding to the ambiance, as you find Picasso’s signature decorating one of the wine barrels lining the wall.

Spain Travel Review: Granada, Barcelona, Cordoba, Alhambra, Holy Week, Hiking, 1 Week

This was my second trip with Zicasso and I love this platform! We chose to work with this travel agency and our agent could not have been a better match. She assured that the trip was tailored to our needs and added all the elements we did not even know we needed when visiting Spain. We had a couple of calls throughout the planning process and every inquiry was replied to immediately.

Our travel agent checked in with us once the trip began to ensure we were having the best time (we were!) and also made sure we had access to all contact numbers and emergency numbers should they be needed.

Our experience in Spain with Zicasso’s tour operator was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, every detail was handled with precision, care, and a genuine passion for creating a memorable journey.

The guides were not only deeply knowledgeable, but also engaging and intuitive, striking the perfect balance between historical insight and relaxed, personalized exploration. What truly set this experience apart was the level of service. The team anticipated needs before we even voiced them, adjusted plans fluidly, and made us feel like privileged insiders rather than tourists. The pacing was perfect, allowing us to soak in the culture, cuisine, and beauty of Spain without ever feeling rushed.

Spain Trip Review: Seville, Malaga, Ronda, Granada, Alhambra, 10 Nights

This was our third time utilizing Zicasso for an international trip. For our Spain vacation, Zicasso provided two solid choices and we chose this tour operator. The travel specialists were excellent to work with and we spent almost a year with them planning.

After an initial itinerary, we didn't have much to change and they provided us with multiple choices to pick from each day before deciding on a final plan. We had some personal complications, but the team was very accommodating and willing to update our plans as needed.

We had two home bases in Seville and Málaga. Both hotels were in excellent locations, each within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and shops. The guided tours they recommended all were excellent and provided great history of each town visited, as well as Spain in general. We appreciated everything the team did for us and would highly recommend them to others.
