Detailed Description

Lisbon exudes romance. Colorful houses line cobbled streets, entire walls are covered in Azulejo tiles, and fado music emanates from mazy lanes with their strings of life floating into the sultry evening air. In the city, indulgence dominates the riverside, from majestic architecture to tasty morsels and cocktail bars. Of course, there are iconic romantic things to do here, such as indulging in the city’s incredible dining scene. This is a destination with so much more than just classic romance. It is a vibrant city of history and art that is surrounded by natural splendor and made even by great weather and an engrossing atmosphere.

Handcrafted for couples, this one-week Lisbon tour will provide you with an excellent blend of private time and exclusive activities. You will explore much of the best that the city has to offer, including the iconic highlights; however, you will also venture off the beaten path for more authentic experiences. Your accommodation will be in a stunning and recently converted heritage building. Here, you will have the entire top floor to yourself for sunset views and hot tub indulgence. All of your tours will be private, and the focus will be on seeing Lisbon that way you desire. You will also have customizable timings and dining recommendations tailored to your tastes.

You will begin your intimate exploration in the spa after your flight before your introductory culinary experience that will take the form of a private dinner on your penthouse rooftop. Day two will provide you with the opportunity to discover the city at your own pace before attending an ambient fado music performance in the evening. You will then escape to Alentejo on day three for an exclusive wine tasting before Lisbon’s palaces provide a dazzling experience throughout day four. On day five, you will cruise the river and indulge in Michelin-starred dining. Your final full day will present a private brunch picnic and a chance to create an Azulejo tile. That may sound like a lot for a week, but this is a city that moves to a slow rhythm, so you can take your time and absorb all of the city’s amorous ways.

Portugal Vacation Review: Lisbon, Porto, Sintra, Food Tour, Private Driver, 10-Night Trip

Zicasso’s tour company was quick to respond to our initial request, and was easy to work with to put together a trip around a family wedding my brother and I were attending on Portugal's west coast. Because we were traveling together, I asked for either 2 separate rooms or a 2-bedroom suite/apartment. They proposed two apartment-style accommodations.

The Lisbon apartment exceeded expectations. It seemed like a boutique hotel with apartments with full kitchens that were stocked with breakfast items and personalized daily fresh bread/pastry delivery to the door.

The only issues we had was with the apartment in Porto which seemed more like a regular short term rental. The location of the apartment in Porto was great, but it did not provide breakfast, which we were told ahead of time. However, we didn't really realize the impact that would make given our tour schedule and were lucky to have gone to a grocery store for a few staples.

The apartment was not well maintained, had a large stain on the rug in the TV room and stains on some towels. Also, I had to request service to unclog the slow/clogged drains in the bathroom sinks and showers, which was completed the following day. I provided pictures of the apartment and feedback, which the travel company seemed rather surprised by, as they had clients stay at this location previously and were very apologetic about it.

The was no comparison between the apartments in Lisbon and Porto, they were not on the same level, not even close.

The tours and drivers they set up were great, and we had a combo of private and small group. The travel company gave us a daily rundown of our itinerary and were quick to answer any questions.

Portugal Trip Review: Douro Valley, Algarve, Sao Miguel Island, Azores, Hiking, 3 Weeks

We have taken about 10 trips through Zicasso and this tour operator is among the two best we have worked with. The travel specialist is incredibly attentive, organized, and responsive. She and her team didn't miss a beat in a three-week trip all over Portugal and the Azores, and quickly accommodated changes resulting from weather, a flight cancellation, and our simply opting not to do a scheduled activity.

Our guides/drivers were punctual, knowledgeable, and pleasant.

Our travel specialists even insisted on taking us to the Lisbon airport at 4:30 a.m., even taking us directly to the security check-in. They definitely go the extra mile and will pay close attention to your travel style and interests.

Portugal Family Travel Review: Cooking Class, 1 Week

Our trip to Portugal was absolutely amazing. It exceeded our expectations, and everything felt so well-organized and executed. My family loved all of the tours and different activities, and we felt very well cared for and taken care of.

The best type of vacation, especially when traveling with kids, is the one where you don't have to worry about anything. This was exactly what we experienced on this trip. The drivers, tour guides, hotel staff, etc., were amazing, knowledgeable, and reliable. We would absolutely use this company the next time we travel!

Portugal Family Tour Review: Lisbon, Sintra, Evora, Porto, Algarve, Madeira, Douro Valley, Cooking Class, Tile-Painting Workshop, 13 Nights

The travel agent from Zicasso's tour company planned for my family of four the most spectacular and luxurious two-week trip around Portugal. We traveled to and enjoyed the highlights of Lisbon, the romantic architecture in Sintra, the incredible history of Évora, the beautiful coastline of the Algarve, the laid-back atmosphere and gorgeous scenery of Madeira, the beautiful, historical, bustling city of Porto, and the stunning scenery of the Douro Valley.

The travel agent's suggestions and bookings were all perfectly aligned with what we envisioned and the accommodations booked were all beautifully appointed and family-oriented – five-star hotels that catered to the entire family, with indoor pools and kids greeted with backpacks and toys at the door, and nightly treats on pillows.

The tour guides booked were all very knowledgeable and kind. They were patient with my two- and four-year-olds, and taught us all so many new, amazing things.

Every day was a highlight, but I would say my girls really enjoyed the tile painting as well as the pastel de nata-making workshops.

My husband and I really enjoyed Évora and Sintra, and truly seeing the beauty and history of it all.

We absolutely fell in love with Portugal, the culture, and the food. My only regret is not having more time so we could’ve seen the Azores as well and stayed even longer.

We so look forward to this travel agent planning us another perfect vacation in the near future!
