Lima – Colonial Squares to Seaside Cliffs

Lima is a city of intrigue and historical splendor, contemporary lifestyle and capital charm. Your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International Airport, where your private transfer greets you upon arrival. The city extends from the shores of the Pacific to the rising hills around the Rimac district. The aroma of freshly squeezed lime emanates from the central market. The alluring aroma drifts out of cevicherias, seafood restaurants, offering bowls of fresh seafood, brimming with crab and sea bass. Street vendors grill choclo, large kernel corn, and spread a spiced sauce called aji over the edges.

You check into the comforts of your luxurious hotel overlooking the charming waves splashing against the seaside cliffs of the Miraflores neighborhood. Your guide meets you in the lobby, eager to introduce you to the variety of districts in the city, each containing a distinctive connection to the city’s rich culture, whether from the Andes in the south, the desert to the east, or the nearby coastal plains. Walk along the Malecon, seaside boardwalk, to enjoy the stunning view of the cobalt waters. A statue of young lovers known as “El Beso,” decorates Love Park. Both Zicasso’s travel specialists truly listened to our desires for the trip and were respectful of the budget we gave at the beginning of our conversation. Their responsiveness was top-notch and we felt completely cared for the entire trip. We especially loved the surprise meet-up in person while in Quito! She is wonderful!

Zicasso’s travel company was the perfect company to partner with. The travel specialist helped our big group of eight couples, who wanted to charter a yacht for the Galápagos, feel excited and confident that we were planning the right trip for us. She was responsive and so well-versed in the area, and helped us plan and maximize our trip.

Peru, Ecuador Trip Review: Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Quito, Galapagos, Cruise, 12 Days

A group of six toured parts of Peru, including Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. When that portion of our trip was over, we went to Quito for one day and then onto a small cruise ship in the Galápagos. Every moment of the experience felt as if it were curated just for us. Most of the time, we went on tours with our guide and it was just the six of us. It was perfect because the guides could be flexible since it was just our group.

We had many guides and drivers in Peru, but we had a favorite guide and driver. The guide went so far above and beyond, it is hard to even explain. One example: we arrived by plane in Cusco around 8pm. None of us had been wise enough to eat lunch that day, so of course ,we were hungry. Unfortunately, we were not going to arrive at our hotel until just after 10, when the restaurant closed. Our driver called ahead, got the menu for us, helped us order, so it was ready when we arrived.

It was not just that. We were met after baggage at every destination and taken directly to our private van. Literally, every moment was accounted for from start to finish. We did so many tours in Peru and then went on a yacht in the Galápagos. This was an incredible yacht. The tour director accounted for our every need, even bringing us to a hospital because one member of the group was not feeling well due to a previous medical condition. The food was good. Our excursion guide was fantastic and seemed as excited about the animals as we were.

Zicasso’s travel company handcrafted the perfect adventure for our group. Our trip planner was fantastic and excellent at communicating with me throughout the process.

Peru Tour Review: Lake Titicaca, Puno, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Festivals, 11 Nights

Zicasso’s travel agent began our experience with a lot of good ideas and options based on our discussions with her about what we wanted to do and how we wanted to travel. We found her to be extremely responsive, with great attention to detail, innovative ideas, and flexibility to change things around so we could, for example, take advantage of a festival that was happening in one of the cities we planned to visit. We had a completely satisfying experience with the travel company and would recommend them to anyone who wants to travel to Peru.
