Ushuaia – Board your Luxury Cruise Ship to Set Sail
Ushuaia is a young city when compared to the capitals of South American countries. The settlement at the end of the South American continent dates back to the 1880s when an Argentine expedition arrived to establish a sub-prefecture. Along with the government envoy was 300 Anglican missionaries who built the first houses in the region and took to evangelizing the local native population. The city has grown leaps and bounds since its inception nearly 130 years ago, and colorful homes line the streets and weave between the snow-capped peaks of the Martial Range and the rippling cobalt waters of the Beagle Channel.
The greater region of Tierra del Fuego holds the secrets of the Patagonia region and remnants of the native population’s rich history that dates back nearly 10,000 years, long before the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan first sailed around the tip of the South American continent in the 16th century. Your flight will land at Malvinas Argentinas International Airport, where your private transfer will greet you upon arrival. You will soon reach the port to board your vessel bound for Antarctica, and likely stay on the deck of the ship to enjoy the view that encompasses the mountain slopes and sporadic pockets of lenga forest. The southern hemisphere summer averages a daytime warmth of 57 degrees, and your vessel offers luxurious accommodations and a hull protected and strengthened for travel through the icy channels.

Your Antarctica tour will begin with your arrival in Ushuaia, Argentina as your private transfer will escort you from the airport to the port to board your ship and set sail across the Beagle Channel.

The skies fill with an extraordinary amount of sub-Antarctic and Antarctic sea birds, including albatross and skuas.
As you travel over the Antarctic Convergence to reach the South Shetland Islands en route to the Antarctic Peninsula, you will relish the feeling of adventure as you venture out on your zodiac boat to explore the iceberg-laden waterways. We loved working with Zicasso’s travel specialist during the planning phase of this three-week trip to Argentina and Chile. She took the time to listen carefully to our trip goals, our “must-dos,” and our “don’t likes.” She helped us design our dream journey, put all the pieces together by working with her contacts in-country, was available for questions, provided her advice and guidance along the way, and made modifications as needed.
She was a pleasure to work with and we could tell that her main goal was to ensure we would have the trip we wanted and that everything would go as planned. She was also available during our trip in case anything went astray and ensured we had local contacts in case they were needed. We had the trip of a lifetime, and she made it happen for us. We are very grateful for her help and will definitely use her again for future trips.

We had a wonderful trip, thanks to Zicasso’s travel specialist and the tour operator. We had to skip Brazil due to personal schedules, but Chile and Argentina were great. All the hotels, drivers, and guides were outstanding. We were very pleased with everything!

This is the third trip we’ve booked through Zicasso and we’ve already booked our fourth for 2026.
Zicasso’s travel company did a great job.
We really enjoyed our trip to Argentina and Chile. All the hotels were great and the transfers went smoothly. We enjoyed the excursions. Some we liked better than others, but that’s to be expected. We really enjoyed our time in El Chalten, El Calafate, and Torres del Paine. The scenery was spectacular. Patagonia should be on everybody’s bucket list if they enjoy hiking and the great outdoors.
Thanks again to this travel company for setting everything up. We also really appreciated the service they provided during the trip. When we had a question or needed to move a couple of things around because of weather, they were easy to get a hold of and very helpful. That’s important, as there’s always something that comes up.
I would definitely recommend this travel company to anyone wanting a private, customized trip to Argentina and Chile.

Our Argentina trip was really fantastic! It's such a large country that it was hard to narrow down a few places to visit for our short time there. We decided on Buenos Aires, Salta Province, and Iguazú Falls (with a day trip to Uruguay).
Zicasso’s travel company was very easy to work with, being very open and accommodating to our ideas for the itinerary. They managed everything—booking hotels, car service, daily guides and tours, wineries, some restaurants, and our in-country flights. They were great in finding perfect guides to help us navigate where we went and offer lots of good historical information. The travel company was super-communicative, checking in with us almost daily and keeping track of our driver pick-ups and in-country flights.
I think the highlight for me was the Salta Province—it's such a remote area, but with the most beautiful and diverse scenery. The travel company found for us a fantastic driver/guide who did all the driving on some treacherous terrain, translated all our communication, and found some charming places to eat while on the road. He also was very thoughtful in downloading a playlist with music we had talked about liking and put together a short video of our travels as a keepsake. There were some fabulous wineries in the Salta region, so we felt like we experienced a large part of the province.
We also visited Iguazú Falls, which were spectacular from Argentina and Brazil. The travel company made it easy in booking us accommodations inside the national park so we could get an early start on our tour. Our guide there was also wonderful—she shared a lot of interesting information of the area and even told us about a restaurant back in Buenos Aires which we visited, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip.
I would highly recommend the travel company, which can plan a great trip from soup to nuts. The women we worked with were delightful to deal with and so welcoming and helpful.
