Our first trip to Italy was a romantic anniversary celebration, and thanks to Zicasso’s travel specialist and our travel company, it became one of the most extraordinary and meaningful travel experiences of our lives. It was everything we had dreamed of, and so much more!

From our very first conversations, she took the time to understand who we are as travelers: our love of art, architecture, history, culture, food, wine, and lifelong learning. She translated those passions into an imaginative, beautifully personalized journey through Rome, Tuscany, Florence, and Venice.

One of her greatest gifts is her intuitive understanding of the rhythm of travel. We wanted days filled with discovery, learning, and new experiences, but also leisurely afternoons and evenings to wander cobblestone streets, linger over wonderful meals, and simply absorb the atmosphere of Italian life. She struck that balance perfectly. Our itinerary was wonderfully rich, yet never rushed or overscheduled.

The private guides she selected were exceptional: not simply knowledgeable, but gifted teachers and storytellers who brought centuries of Italian history, art, architecture, and culture vividly to life. In Florence, for example, our guide helped us explore the Renaissance through fascinating stories of the Medici family, Michelangelo’s creative process, and the philosophy of Humanism. Our visits to the great museums and historic landmarks became intellectually stimulating and deeply engaging experiences.

She also introduced us to Italy’s living traditions: a fabulous food tour in Rome, wine tasting in Tuscany, explorations of enchanting medieval towns and villages, and boat excursions to Murano and Burano, where we discovered the centuries-old artistry of glassblowing and lacemaking. These experiences gave us a wonderful sense of the richness and continuity of Italian culture.

Her choices of accommodations were equally inspired. Each was distinctive, beautifully located, and full of character, from a charming, peaceful boutique hotel near the Pantheon in Rome, to a magical stay in a medieval Tuscan village, an elegant Art Deco hotel in Florence, and a fairytale suite in Venice. Every setting added another layer of romance and delight to our anniversary celebration. And the cuisine was heavenly! Every meal was memorable, culminating in a dreamy farewell dinner beside a Venetian canal.

Behind all this magic was the travel specialist’s impeccable planning, extraordinary attention to detail, and genuinely proactive care. Every transition, from airports and private transfers to trains and boats, was seamlessly coordinated.

One small example perfectly captures her approach. When our train from Florence to Venice was delayed, we contacted the travel specialist to let her know. A wonderful 13-day private journey filled with extraordinary scenery, beautiful hotels, fascinating history, and exceptional personal service.

My husband and I recently returned from an incredible 13-day private tour of Morocco, arranged by Zicasso's travel company. Having traveled extensively internationally, we have fairly high expectations when it comes to accommodations, personalized service, and thoughtfully planned experiences. Morocco was a destination we had been looking forward to exploring and our travel company delivered a remarkable journey that exceeded our expectations in nearly every respect.

From the Atlantic coast to the ancient imperial cities, across the Atlas Mountains and into the Sahara Desert, we experienced an extraordinary variety of landscapes, cultures, and historical sites. Along the way, we stayed in some truly beautiful properties, enjoyed memorable meals, and met wonderful people.

The Planning Process

Our experience began with our travel specialist, who worked closely with us to develop a customized itinerary reflecting our interests and preferences.

We are particular about where we stay and how we travel. We prefer distinctive luxury accommodations over conventional chain hotels, appreciate excellent restaurants, and enjoy a combination of historical sightseeing, cultural experiences, and opportunities to explore independently.

The planning process involved several revisions as we refined the itinerary, evaluated different hotels, adjusted sightseeing arrangements, and discussed dining preferences. Throughout this process, our travel specialist was responsive, patient, and willing to accommodate our requests.

We especially appreciated his flexibility in arranging some exceptional properties, including the one in the Atlas Mountains and another in Marrakech. He also helped coordinate special dining arrangements and smaller details that made the trip feel personalized.

One of the advantages of working with this travel company was being able to create a journey around our interests rather than simply accepting a predetermined tour. The result was a well-organized itinerary that provided an excellent introduction to Morocco’s remarkable diversity.

Our Driver — Truly Exceptional

Without question, one of the greatest highlights of our journey was our driver.

We spent nearly two weeks traveling together, covering considerable distances through cities, villages, deserts, and mountains. During that time, he became much more than our driver. He was a knowledgeable companion, a dependable resource, and someone whose company we genuinely enjoyed.

He was exceptionally engaging, accommodating, and knowledgeable about his country. He was always happy to answer questions, share insights about Moroccan life and culture, or help us adjust our plans along the way.

What impressed us most was his extraordinary dedication to making sure we were comfortable and well cared for. He made himself available to us at virtually any hour, whether we needed assistance with a restaurant, an unexpected request, or a change in our plans.

One particularly memorable example occurred when we accidentally left a personal item behind at one of our hotels. He went out of his way to help us address the situation, demonstrating a level of personal attention and commitment that went well beyond what we would ordinarily expect from a driver.

He was consistently professional, engaging, and genuinely interested in making our experience enjoyable.

Given the amount of time spent traveling between destinations, having someone as pleasant and capable as him made an enormous difference. Even the longer driving days became opportunities to learn more about Morocco and enjoy the changing scenery.

By the end of the journey, saying goodbye to him felt much more like saying goodbye to a friend than simply parting ways with our driver.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Anyone fortunate enough to have him as their driver will be in excellent hands.

Beautiful Hotels and Exceptional Accommodations

One of the aspects we enjoyed most was the variety and quality of the accommodations the travel company arranged.

Rather than staying in a series of similar luxury hotels, we experienced properties that reflected the architecture, history, and character of the different regions we visited.

Our journey began at a beautiful hotel in Rabat, an impressive oceanfront property that provided a luxurious introduction to Morocco.

In Fes, we stayed at an elegant traditional riad that offered a completely different atmosphere. Its architecture, intimate setting, and location made it a wonderful base for exploring this fascinating city.

As we traveled south, our accommodations became increasingly distinctive. The hotel near Erfoud introduced us to the desert region, followed by an unforgettable night at a luxury desert. camp in the Sahara. Spending the night among the magnificent dunes was certainly one of the most memorable experiences of the trip. We also appreciated the travel company arranging wine for us at the camp, a thoughtful detail that reflected our preferences.

The accommodation in Skoura offered another interesting experience, with its traditional kasbah-style architecture and peaceful surroundings.

One of our absolute favorites was a spectacular retreat in the Atlas Mountains. The setting was breathtaking, the property was beautiful, and our two-night stay gave us an opportunity to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It was a highlight of the entire trip.

We concluded our journey at at a magnificent boutique property in Marrakech featuring extraordinary Moroccan craftsmanship, beautiful courtyards, and an intimate atmosphere. It was a wonderful place to end our adventure.

The hotels were not simply places to sleep. Each became an important part of the experience, and their diversity added enormously to our appreciation of Morocco.

Fascinating History, Beautiful Scenery, and Memorable Experiences

Morocco is a country of remarkable contrasts, and one of the strengths of our itinerary was the opportunity to experience so many different regions.

We began with a visit to the spectacular Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca before continuing to Rabat, where we explored the capital’s historical landmarks and enjoyed its more relaxed atmosphere.

Our journey then took us through Meknes and the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis before arriving in Fes.

Exploring the medina of Fes was fascinating. Its maze of narrow streets, traditional workshops, historic architecture, and bustling markets offered a glimpse into a way of life that has endured for centuries. We especially enjoyed learning about the city’s history and seeing the traditional craftsmanship for which it is famous.

As we traveled toward the Sahara, the scenery changed dramatically. The cities and green landscapes gradually gave way to rugged mountains, desert towns, and vast stretches of open countryside.

The Sahara was extraordinary. The towering dunes of Erg Chebbi, our camel experience, and spending the night in the desert created memories that will stay with us for years.

Continuing westward, we visited the spectacular Todra Gorge, explored the historic kasbahs of southern Morocco, and experienced the remarkable fortified village of Aït Benhaddou.

We particularly enjoyed learning about the ancient caravan trade routes that once connected Morocco with Timbuktu and other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. Seeing these landscapes in person brought that history to life.

The drive through the Ounila Valley and across the High Atlas Mountains was another highlight. The dramatic mountain scenery, winding roads, traditional villages, and historic kasbahs made this one of the most visually impressive parts of our journey.

Marrakech provided a lively and colorful finale. We explored its historic sites and markets, visited the beautiful Jardin Majorelle and Yves Saint Laurent Museum, and enjoyed shopping for unique items, including some interesting antique daggers.

One particularly entertaining activity was exploring Marrakech by vintage sidecar. It was a fun and unusual way to experience the city and provided a welcome change from more traditional sightseeing.

We also enjoyed the opportunity to experience some of Marrakech’s excellent restaurants and cocktail lounges. Our dinner at a magnificent restaurant was especially memorable, and exploring the hotel’s beautiful public spaces added another dimension to the evening.

These experiences, combined with the flexibility to explore independently, helped make the trip feel like a genuine vacation rather than simply a succession of scheduled sightseeing stops.

Two Experiences That Missed the Mark

Although the overwhelming majority of our trip was excellent, there were two activities that we felt were not particularly well suited to our interests.

The first occurred during our guided visit to the medina in Fes, where we found ourselves caught in an extended rug sales presentation.

We appreciate traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and enjoyed seeing artisans at work, but this particular experience felt primarily designed to sell carpets rather than provide meaningful cultural insight. It was not specifically identified as a rug sales presentation in our itinerary, and we would have preferred to spend that time exploring other aspects of the medina.

The second was a scheduled Gnawa musical performance in Khamlia shortly before entering the Sahara. While we enjoy local music and authentic cultural experiences, this particular performance felt overly staged for tourists and was not especially engaging.

Both activities seemed somewhat out of place in an otherwise thoughtfully curated private luxury itinerary.

Our suggestion to the travel company would be to discuss these types of experiences more explicitly during the planning process and allow guests to decide whether they are of interest. Some travelers may enjoy them, but they were not particularly appealing to us.

These were the only two significant planning missteps during an otherwise exceptional journey, and they certainly did not diminish our overall enjoyment of Morocco.

The Benefits of Private Travel

Having now experienced Morocco with a private driver and a customized itinerary, we believe this is an excellent way to explore the country.

Morocco is geographically diverse, and visiting its major highlights requires considerable travel. Some days involved several hours in the vehicle, particularly as we crossed the mountains and traveled between the desert and the major cities.

However, having a comfortable private vehicle, a knowledgeable driver, and the flexibility to stop along the way made these journeys much more enjoyable.

We especially appreciated being able to adjust our schedule, spend more time at places that interested us, and enjoy our evenings without being tied to a group itinerary.

We knew very little about Japan and even less about our travel company, having been referred to them by Zicasso. We explained to our assigned coordinators our interest in food, exercise, and culture. They diligently created an itinerary and then worked with us patiently as we evaluated the presented options, and efficiently helped us to evolve our travel plans all the way through our departure.

Based on the professional manner in which they listened to us and helped us plan our trip, we had a good feeling. Still, we left for Japan not fully knowing what to expect.

The outcome was a trip that far exceeded our expectations. Every aspect of the plan unfolded with impeccable professionalism, reliability, ease, and comfort. When we needed to move from one destination to another, the transportation was arranged with remarkable attention to detail. For example, on our two encounters with the Shinkansen (bullet train), with our prearranged reserved seats, we were pleasantly surprised to find that, each time, our seats were located exactly where it was easiest to store our luggage, in space available only to the four of us.

Our hotels and planned dining events were four- and five-star quality.

We received white-glove treatment throughout the trip, such as an unforgettable private tea ceremony with one of Kyoto’s preeminent hostesses. Our visits to shrines, onsens (hot springs), cultural events, and overnight stays at remote Buddhist monasteries were orchestrated with impeccable planning, delivering us to each locale with hospitable private drivers. Everywhere we went, we were always made to feel like VIPs.

Perhaps most impressive was the selection of our private guides. We had three during the course of our two-week trip, and each was well versed in English, incredibly knowledgeable, well prepared, and could not have been more accommodating and kind. They coordinated our adventures, which included biking around Mt. Fuji, canoeing in Lake Kawaguchi, hiking in the Wakayama mountains, visiting the Hakone hot springs, touring us through Koyasan at the top of a sacred mountain, and educating us on the many historical sites, such as the Imperial Palace and the Kongobuji Temple, the famous shrines of Fushimi, the burial grounds at Okunoin, and the innumerable sights, sounds, and dining pleasures of Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone, and Koyasan.

Our takeaway was that Japan is a land of wonder, with happy, kind people, a culture that values technology, hygiene, spirituality, sustainability, and discipline, and we look forward to returning to explore it further. When we do, we will again utilize the services of this travel company. Their remarkable choreography and orchestration, down to the finest detail, had us singing their praises at every turn of this trip.

We enjoyed the trip.

The hotels were excellent, with the exception of the one in Sitges. The entire hotel smelled like mildew and antibacterial spray, including our room and sheets.

The rental car was great, as were the tours.

We would recommend skipping the Aveiro tour, however. The boat went back and forth on a 1km path and we saw a few colored buildings. Everyone on board was bored. When we met the tour guide, he asked if we had a chauffeur or if we were going to drive our car. That was a complete shock and totally unprofessional.

In our experience, no extended travel to a foreign land is ever hiccup-free.

A storm caused our flight to be canceled, and she worked her magic! No complaints or anxious moments were revealed to us. We started in Split, spending two days exploring the area and visiting the beautiful Krka National Park. We then spent six unforgettable days aboard a private catamaran, visiting a different island each day for dinner and stopping along the way to swim, snorkel, and paddleboard in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea. Having our own skipper and hostess made the experience even more special. Our skipper took us to beautiful spots along the way and our hostess prepared delicious breakfasts and lunches every day. The catamaran portion was definitely the highlight of our trip! It was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and exploring the stunning Croatian islands.

We finished our trip with three days in Dubrovnik, staying at a beautiful hotel overlooking the Adriatic Sea. One of our favorite experiences was taking a cooking class, which was a wonderful way to immerse ourselves in Croatian culture and cuisine.

Just a first-rate job!

We visited Athens, Epidaurus, Nemea, Nafplion, Olympia, Nafpaktos, Delphi, the Temple of Poseidon, Naxos, Santorini, and Crete in 20 days. Our tour guides were exceptional, all hotels were exceptional except for a minor hiccup in one, and all of our drivers were fantastic. We enjoyed learning about the many ancient civilizations in Greece, including the Mycenaeans, the Minoans, and the ancient Greeks. We enjoyed the Venetian architecture in the islands and the diversity of Santorini.

The travel company, I think, picked the best available hotels and the best available tour guides and drivers. Not every transfer was perfect. There were about three instances where a driver did not meet us due to an incorrect pickup location or incorrect name, or there was confusion about whether we had tickets to one event. But the tour company was available on WhatsApp and responded within 15 minutes when problems occurred. The problems were resolved shortly afterward.

I do not believe there are any trip itineraries that are executed perfectly. In our case, the weather played a role in canceling one excursion and delaying our departure from Naxos to Santorini. While we were on Naxos, strong winds were persistent day and night, forcing the ferry service to cancel rides. Our last day in Naxos did not feel like a vacation. But the tour company commiserated with us, getting us on the last ferry off of Naxos and speaking with us on the phone about our options.

Well organized and executed. Setting up key transfers between hotels, airports, and train stations (as well as tour meeting points at times) was a huge relief.

Our trip was fantastic, even barring a couple of weather events. Our travel specialist was amazing! I actually gave her name to several people who asked who we used in Greece. She was very accessible and always calming and reassuring when weather changed our plans.

For the most part, we were pleased with the itinerary. Two scheduled day trips did not live up to our expectations. The winery tour was extremely disappointing. Our day trip to Kalamata was limited and somewhat disappointing.

When our day trip to Hydra was canceled due to weather, our travel specialist juggled the itinerary, hoping to find an alternate day for it.

Zicasso’s travel specialist and the travel company arranged a very memorable 22-day trip for us to China. It was a mix of their suggestions and our must-sees, integrated into a well-paced schedule that took us from Beijing to Tibet, Xi’an, Longsheng, Guilin, Yangshuo, Huangshan, and Shanghai.

Our guides were wonderful, some exceptional—taking us out on the town after the tour was over or switching up our itinerary to squeeze in some interesting additional items. The hotels were all great—a mix of exquisite boutiques, resorts, and larger hotels in great locations. Our drivers were very experienced, navigating busy Beijing streets or Tibetan passes, and the vehicles were extremely comfortable and well appointed.

Our only feedback is perhaps just a reality of China—a “private” tour in a densely populated country means long queues and, at major sites, crushing crowds.

Everything worked seamlessly, even when our visit to La Sagrada Familia was canceled due to Barcelona closing all monuments because of flood danger. There were two things that could have been better. One was the car in Ireland should have been one size smaller, since the roads are so narrow in some places, and the other was beyond your control. I didn't understand the relationship between Zicasso and its travel company, and it took me a while to get the triangular reporting scheme. It was easier for me to reach out to someone directly, but we managed.

The people at the travel company were very accommodating. However, I learned a lot about my own travel preferences through this trip. We spent four days in Porto, the first being arrival from the US via Lisbon, so we did not do any touring that day. We only had half a day to explore on our own given the activities that were planned for us. I would like to have had more downtime in Porto to get to know the city.

The foodie tour that we took was fabulous. Our guide took us on a very personal tour, introducing us to her favorites and including all the things we wanted to achieve. Please send her our regards and personal thanks.

We spent a day in Vinho Verde. As the harvest had been completed the day before we arrived, the experience felt contrived. We could easily have skipped this.

The Douro Valley exploration was more interesting to us. We visited two wineries, the second of which was more special, so we enjoyed the tasting more thoroughly. Again, the guide was delightful!

We took a train back to Lisbon feeling like we had missed much of Porto. As we expressed interest in Jewish history, we booked our first morning tour through a tour booking platform to supplement what the travel company provided. While they said their guides would be knowledgeable in this area, there was no guide that provided that background.

Our train ride to Lisbon ended in a surprise. We were about to descend the stairs to the Oriente platform when the doors closed suddenly and the train left. Fortunately, the next stop was not far and we were able to turn ourselves around and return to our awaiting driver.

Our day in Sintra and Cascais was disappointing. We drove to Cascais and had 25 minutes to explore. We then continued to Sintra. We were not sure what access we were provided, but another couple had full access and their admittance was for 12:00, so we had to be there by then. While it is a spectacular site, it was way too crowded to see anything, and a guided tour of the site would have been desirable.

We were able to include a visit to an estate due to a working relationship that exists with them. They have cork forests on their property, so there was no reason to visit Évora for that purpose.

All in all, the drivers and guides we were given were thoughtful, professional, helpful, and concerned… always helping us with doors, luggage, footing. Having them immediately available was extremely useful. On the other hand, we learned that we were not as interested in camp for adults, where all of our activities were planned for us, as we were in learning and feeling the culture and spirit of the country. The country is beautiful and its people quite warm and friendly.

From the initial planning to the end of the trip, our group of 13 family members were extremely pleased with everything. Zicasso's travel specialist was patient during the planning with our time change, ever-increasing numbers in our group, and accommodating our requests for added side trips to her presented agenda.

We were able to spend an entire day with Italian family members in a small village in Calabria, a visit that was a highlight for the youngest to the oldest in our family. The hotels chosen were always in a central location, where members could safely engage in varied activities on their own. The accommodations were different in each area, allowing us a variety of experiences. The excursions our travel specialist planned for us were top-notch and even those who had traveled previously to Italy enjoyed new experiences……Mt. Etna, the Clock Tower in Messina, a different gate at Pompeii, the chairlift ride in Capri, and the cooking class. The guides for each tour were not only very engaging, but so accommodating to the two elderly relatives with mobility issues.

The transportation provided was very prompt, generally comfortable and again, very considerate of the eldest in our group. One driver even let us stop at a bakery to pick up more delicious cookies we had at our family reunion in Seminara.

We were always able to contact our travel specialist or travel coordinator to answer any concerns we had while traveling. Minor issues were promptly addressed. We were so grateful when our travel coordinator greeted us at the train station to assist us! Overall, it was a trip of a lifetime for everyone in our group, from first-time travelers to Italy to seasoned travelers.

Zicasso’s travel company and its team provided a lifetime of memories, as we recently returned from our two-week trip to Scotland. Our travel specialist listened carefully to what we were looking for in this trip in the initial few weeks of planning (local and unique properties to stay, personalized guides for travel throughout the country, historical sites to visit and learn from, and individual activities). Since this was our 50th anniversary trip, we wanted to have a lifetime experience, “out of the ordinary.”

It was.

Each property we visited knew it was our anniversary, and at our first property, in Edinburgh, we were greeted with champagne, balloons, and chocolate. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view of Edinburgh and the castle. In fact, in each property we stayed at, we felt as if we had the best room, or close to it. In one property, in Inverness, the proprietor greeted us with some champagne, but then asked us to join him in the lounge room, where he congratulated us on our 50th anniversary and offered us a complimentary dram of Scotch of our choice. “Out of the ordinary”? I would say so. After an excellent meal in the dining room, our waiter delivered a panna cotta with “Happy Anniversary” written on the plate in chocolate.

The network of guides was knowledgeable, professional, and personable, providing us the history we were looking for in each location. One guide, at the end of our trip, knew we wanted to learn how to perform a handfasting ceremony in honor of our 50th. He said nothing until it was time for him to leave, and then he mentioned that he did not forget what we asked. He was a registered celebrant and not only offered to show us the ceremony, but he performed it by a river, filmed it for us, and sent our memory via WhatsApp. “Out of the ordinary”? You bet!

We came home with a part of Scotland that will always remain in our hearts, and the owner, our travel specialist, and the entire back office managed to provide additional items we asked for throughout the trip. Our time in Italy was great! One of the things we remarked about was how easy it was and how much we did not have to worry about. The transfers to and from the airport were punctual and the drivers were nice. The tours of the Colosseum and Pompeii were fantastic and we enjoyed our tour guides. The hotels were nice and the trip to Capri was smooth. It was nice not having to worry about making hotel reservations or arranging for transport from the airport and train station. And gelato every night was quite tasty! Zicasso's travel company did a great job planning our trip!

Fabulous experiences everywhere we went! Tour guides were excellent. Drivers were prompt, courteous, accommodating, and drove safely. Accommodations were clean, comfortable, mostly well-located for our activities, and breakfasts were beyond expectations. We had a wonderful time in Greece. Zicasso's travel company did a great job of listening to what we wanted in terms of interests, logistics, and time. The proposed itinerary was a good balance of what we wanted and what they suggested. Communication was always prompt both before and during the trip. During the planning process, they were very clear about the cost/time impacts of itinerary changes, which helped us make decisions. It was very useful that during the trip they had a WhatsApp group created where we received daily reminders and last-minute changes.

Our final plans included seeing Athens (Acropolis/Museum/free time), Corinth, Nafplio, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Delphi, Meteora, Thessaloniki (food tour/free time), and Philippi/Kavala. We traveled with a private driver up through the Greek countryside to all our locations.

The choice of having private guides and drivers made our trip truly a worry-free vacation and let us enjoy all the sites visited. Having licensed guides was nice because of their consistent understanding of all the sites we saw. For example, we could have a conversation with our guide in Thessaloniki about what we saw in Athens, and they knew exactly what we were referencing and then were able to tie it into the other sites we were visiting.

The mark of good customer service is how a company responds when things don't go according to plan. In our case, a tour guide got sick at the last minute, but our travel company communicated this to us immediately and had a replacement guide assigned. They were also flexible about changing our car pickup time. The guides were attentive about what we wanted to see and were good about not repeating information that we already had been given.

We would definitely recommend visiting Greece and our travel company to others.

Our trip to Portugal was nothing short of amazing! Everything was planned to perfection, and our tour guides and driver were absolutely outstanding. We had a great trip; there was not a single issue. The communication with the Zicasso travel company was perfect and very responsive. Our driver for most of the trip was an incredible guy; very dedicated to our happy journey. I definitely recommend this travel company 100% if you are traveling to Morocco. Zicasso’s travel company created an amazing trip! Travel was fortunately seamless, and our travel company’s meet-and-greet partners were very helpful, especially in Rwanda when getting the visa and handling the luggage. Their travel advice prior to travel was invaluable, and they provided an app, which was extremely handy throughout the trip, even though we had a hard copy on hand if needed.

Kudos for arranging incredible accommodations. Our hotel in Nairobi was lovely, and the staff friendly and very helpful. We had a cold, cloudy day during our one day in Nairobi, so we were not able to fully enjoy the hotel’s outdoor space. One regret was not allowing one more day to enjoy the hotel.

Our first camp, although a bit of a drive, was worth every minute of time it took to get there. The tents were well appointed and comfortable. We had an amazing guide. The walking safari was such an amazing experience from the typical safari drive, as we were a part of the tracking experience. The walk was also invigorating from a physical and visual perspective. And the nighttime safari drive enabled us to see very different animal life and enjoy stunning sundowner locations. The camp also did an amazing job with dining, from breakfast along the river watching the baboons to lunch poolside and dinner gazing out at the watering hole. I will never forget waking from a nap the afternoon of arriving, sitting up in bed, and watching a family of elephants play at the watering hole.

Our next camp was another amazing camp. Again, the location along the river was an opportunity to continuously watch wildlife in and along the river. And such fun to hear the hippos outside the tent at night. The camp manager was welcoming and fun. We had fun dinners shared with him and his right-hand gals. Again, we had a great guide and an amazing tracker. We were able to enjoy many animal engagements without the crowd. We did do the hot-air balloon ride. Although the ride was fun, the best part is it got us to the farther side of the Maasai Mara. Therefore, we were able to see the mass migration on the return trek, which was a long drive. But once again, the animal viewing was amazing and worth every minute.

And finally, the gorillas in Rwanda! The experience was magical. We had a two-and-a-half-hour hike (not too arduous) to see the Titus family. We were told we were very fortunate, as they are related to Dian Fossey’s original family. Although we got some amazing pictures, just to stand and be in the moment with these creatures is a memory I will never forget. We were impressed with how clean a country Rwanda is. Our stay at our hotel enabled us to be close to the park, and the rooms were comfortable.

My family and I are grateful for the memorable experience our travel company assembled for us. They were very patient with our questions and resolving the Rwanda flight reschedule. I can be a little over the top, “dotting my i’s and crossing my t’s,” trying to get things correct. We also brought home some amazing mementos of our travels. In both Nairobi and Rwanda, the driver/guide introduced us to “women’s villages,” where women (and others) engaged in handcrafts (beading, art, woodworking, etc.). It felt good to support these artists. And shopping at the airstrip in the Maasai Mara was quite the experience!

We had an unbelievable trip to Iceland in September 2026. Zicasso's travel specialist did an amazing job building a custom itinerary. We were able to explore Reykjavík and its history, and also the wonders of the Golden Circle and the South Coast.

We had the most wonderful private guide/chauffeur, who showed us all of the best sights and restaurants, gave us the history and facts about the country, and even closely watched the pending weather so that we could see and do everything! We laughed a lot and had a great time with him. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our adventure in Italy. Zicasso's travel specialist and the support team at our tour company were outstanding. Zicasso's travel specialist was on top of every detail of our trip. We had a group of six people and spent 14 days in northern Italy. Our travel specialist listened to our wants, made suggestions, and helped us settle on an itinerary. We chose to have our specialist arrange our in-country transportation for us and book boutique hotels and guided tours at the locations we visited. Every aspect worked perfectly. Our guides spoke English and were very well credentialed. Every transfer, hotel, and guide worked out well. We had an amazing trip!

The trip was great and the app worked perfectly. Zicasso's travel specialist did a nice job planning the trip for us. The only thing I can say that didn't work for us was doing Montenegro. It was too long of a day in the van and the traffic was one delay after another. Other than that, it was a terrific trip.

Everything worked like clockwork. Very pleased. Zicasso's travel specialist negotiated free room upgrades at each hotel. Tour guides were always on time and outstanding. The itinerary met all of our expectations. It was clearly one of the best trips that we have ever taken. Would use the travel company again for Spain or Portugal.

Overall, we were extremely happy with our Camino experience and the service provided through Zicasso. The team was responsive, helpful, and attentive throughout the planning process, and we were very pleased with the route selected and the quality of the accommodations along the way.

We walked approximately 220 km over nine days. It was a wonderful experience, with beautiful coastal scenery, charming towns, and a great mix of walking and cultural highlights. The accommodations were well chosen and provided comfortable places to rest and recharge after long days on the trail.

A couple of suggestions for future travelers:

Build in a rest day: For travelers planning to walk for more than five consecutive days, we would recommend suggesting a rest day partway through the itinerary. Walking nine days and covering 220 km was rewarding, but physically demanding.

Offer massage recommendations or booking assistance: After several consecutive days of walking, access to a massage would have been very welcome! It would be helpful to provide recommendations for massage therapists or spas along the route, ideally with the option to arrange appointments in advance in towns where travelers have an overnight stay.

These are relatively small suggestions that could make an already excellent experience even better.

We would happily recommend Zicasso to others considering the Camino. The responsiveness, thoughtful route selection, and accommodations contributed significantly to a memorable trip, and we are very grateful for the care that went into organizing it.

We just completed our amazing 11-day journey to Japan with Zicasso's travel company. The travel specialist was an exceptional travel planner who worked tirelessly to make this a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We asked her to focus on art and culture, and the trip provided a great mix of both.

The guides she selected took us out of the "touristy" node and gave us some backroad perspectives on people, traditions, and neighborhoods that we wouldn't have found on our own.

The accommodations were varied, from a lantern-lit river resort to a funky boutique hotel, all of which provided memorable stays.

We would definitely recommend this travel company to friends and family traveling to Japan.

Our trip to the Amalfi Coast was outstanding. Our Zicasso travel specialist and her group did an amazing job coordinating every detail for us. It was a pleasure to not have to worry about a thing. The hotels she recommended were top-quality, so any choice would have been wonderful. The guides were the best! If there is a question or concern, they have a monitored WhatsApp number that also allows them to check in with you as the trip progresses. We can't recommend them enough.

I contacted Zicasso's travel company to plan a trip for my parents. The travel specialist was exceptional from A to Z and provided my parents with a great itinerary. My parents thoroughly enjoyed their experience and would recommend the travel company to anyone traveling to France.

The trip was amazing. We were met at the Nairobi airport and were looked after from that point. Everything went smoothly and we were able to have amazing game drives where we saw a multitude of animals in their natural habitat.

Overall, the trip was culturally enriching, enjoyable, and educational. The guides were outstanding. The communications through the app with Zicasso’s travel company were easy and prompt. Having the tickets for the Shinkansen took away any stress with navigating the system, and the reserved seats were always at the end of the car with the extra luggage storage, so thoughtful! Everyone did their best to help me navigate restaurant dining, and for that we are so thankful. It was a challenge!

Kanazawa was delightful. The restaurant suggested by our travel company was terrific. Kyoto is magical. Concluding the trip at our hotel near Mount Fuji was wonderful, restful, and beautiful. Quite a contrast to Tokyo.

We have a couple of observations. We struggled with jet lag, which made the first 2.5 days of guided tours exhausting. We arrived on Monday afternoon and would have been better served with a free day on Wednesday or Thursday instead of Friday. By the time we arrived in Kanazawa on Saturday, we were hungry and tired.

While we appreciate the uniquely Japanese onsen experience, it was not to our liking. The chef did an amazing job accommodating my food restrictions, but set multi-course dining is not our style. And to have huge meals for dinner and then again breakfast in an environment with little opportunity for activity was uncomfortable. This experience is not for everyone, and it is expensive.

We would prefer to have stayed another night in Kyoto and made a day trip to Hiroshima. The guide and driver were not needed in Hiroshima.

We would recommend our travel company to friends and family. The guides and ease of train travel made the trip!

We had an exceptional experience in Portugal and loved our time there. Much of the curation of our trip was thanks to Zicasso's travel specialist. She listened to us and provided incredibly helpful guidance and support from planning right through to the end of our visit. We highly recommend.

The trip was amazing! Zicasso's travel company did an amazing job planning and organizing, from the moment we arrived, to selecting outstanding hotels, to planning activities. The planning process was excellent. I reviewed what we liked and the pace we liked, and what was provided back to me was that and more.

What we especially liked was that our planner met us in Oslo for a two-hour walking tour. To meet her was so special because she worked so hard for us, then took the time to educate us on the history of the country and pointed out places to go if we wanted to see things on our own. She even showed us where Munch painted "The Scream."

Norway is a magical place. The scenic train ride to Flåm was spectacular. The fjord cruise in Flåm was majestic. The second scenic train ride to Bergen was equally as spectacular. Bergen's architecture, history, and vitality were so enjoyable.

Alta was absolutely beautiful. We would go back to our lodge there again. We saw the Northern Lights three out of three nights there, whereas Tromsø was hit or miss. Lofoten was unbelievably beautiful despite rain and wind!

Our experience was so positive that we plan to visit Norway again, and when we do, we would definitely work with our travel company and its travel specialist! There is none better.

Zicasso's travel specialist and his colleague planned a trip to Austria that was our dream come true. We had very specific requests, and they arranged an itinerary that captured all the beautiful music, sights, and tastes that we had hoped to experience. The hotels, private tour guides and drivers were excellent. And it gave us peace of mind to have in hand all the tickets to attractions and concerts that the company obtained for us in advance. Trip was excellent and matched what we wanted very well. We had lots of great excursions that the Zicasso travel company helped us select based on an easy interview at the beginning. Great tour operators and the agent was in contact with us in case of any issues. And there were some issues...

We had one guide who was late (traffic), so I texted the agent, and I received, almost immediately, the guide's personal contact info to help us find them. After that, without asking, I got contact info for all of the excursions (though it was never needed).

Hotels were beautiful.

At the very end of the trip, Mt. Etna was erupting. Great pictures, but it closed the local airport we were departing from. The agent made sure we had alternate transportation to Palermo to take a different flight out. I was amazed at the additional help beyond what the original planned itinerary was. This company makes sure your trip works out no matter what happens.

Zicasso’s travel company did a phenomenal job planning and executing on our trip to Scotland and England. The trip was celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and was for 18 days.

After explaining to Zicasso’s travel specialists what we had in mind, the first put together a starting point for us to expand on. After a few tweaks and changes, we settled on what we thought was a perfect itinerary for our trip. Once all the finer details were agreed on, a second specialist took over and made sure all the logistics were in place. We worked closely with him until it was time for us to depart and had numerous Zoom calls along the way.

Our travel company did not disappoint! Not only did they plan, arrange, and advise us during the lead-up to our departure, they made sure everything went well while we were traveling. They even have a 24/7 phone number to call should anything go wrong while we were away. Because of their tedious planning, everything went perfectly, and we did not have to use the emergency number. Every transfer, reservation, hotel room, tickets, etc. were perfectly coordinated, which kept our stress level very low.
