High-fashion is always in style, and you will mingle past haute-couture shops to make your way to the massive gothic cathedral that graces the center of the city. Your private guide will lead you through the Duomo and to the rooftop, where you will be amazed at unsurpassed views over the city. The sleek buildings of Italy’s banking industry will fade in the background as your driver transfers you to Lake Como, and you can gaze at emerald forests and a turquoise lake that sits among the snow-capped Alps. A private boat will whisk you around the stunning lake, and you will visit small villages and glamorous villas that dot the shoreline.

Afterward, you board the Bernina Express, which is a panoramic train that will escort you from the palm tree promenades of Lake Como, over glaciers, and to the spa town of St. Moritz, Switzerland. Here, you will spend the night and be pampered at an exclusive resort. In the morning, a private jet will fly you to the beautiful city of Verona, where you will sit in the lap of luxury as you view the glorious landscapes. Red rooftops and bell-towers will eventually come into view, symbolizing that you will be arriving in Verona shortly. Upon your arrival, you will indulge in a personalized tour through the most intriguing sites of the city, visiting the house of Shakespeare’s Juliet and attending a captivating show in the 2,000-year-old Roman amphitheater.

You will continue your tour in Padua, which is Northern Italy’s oldest city. Here, you will see the impressive Basilica of St. Anthony, which attracts thousands of pilgrims each year, and Giotto’s exquisite frescoes that blanket the walls of the 14th-century Scrovegni Chapel. The following day, your driver will lead you to the iconic city of Venice, where you will board a gondola and cruise down the canal, passing Gothic palaces and arched stone footbridges. After your gondola ride, you will enjoy a private tour of St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. Italy Travel Review: Sorrento, Taormina, Rome, Pompeii, Mount Etna, Wine Tasting, 2 Weeks

We had a fabulous trip to Italy, including to Sorrento, Taormina, and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist made sure every detail was taken care of, including stays in beautiful, well-located hotels and excursions that were interesting and fun for our family.

For example, she arranged for an airport host to assist us with our arrival to and departure from the Rome airport, and she was simply amazing, whisking us through the airport and eliminating stress for our family.

Switzerland Travel Review: Zermatt, Zurich, 10-Night Trip

Zicasso’s travel company was great. Invariably, there are always hiccups on every trip, but the travel company worked very hard to rectify any issues. The itinerary they put together was perfect for our family and met everyone’s needs. The only thing I would recommend for future clients is that the timelines were pretty tight, so we were not always able to experience each place as much as we would have liked because transit times ended up being longer than what was listed in the itinerary.

For travelers, something to keep in mind when traveling in Switzerland in the winter is the shortened daylight hours and many shops and restaurants being closed throughout the holiday season.

One of the best decisions we made was to buy first-class rail passes, as the second-class cars were very busy, which would have been especially difficult on days when we were shuttling luggage from one city to the next. I would also recommend pre-booking seats on trains from Zermatt to Zurich after New Year’s, as we had to sit in a stairwell because there were no seats left.

Zicasso’s travel company planned an amazing vacation for our family of five. Despite our late planning to go to Switzerland, they found us great accommodations in favorable locations and planned a two-week schedule that enabled us to see the sights and participate in varied winter activities, while leaving us the flexibility to determine what we wanted to do each day. It was a stress-free, adventurous family vacation.

Italy Tour Review: Vatican, Cooking Class, 1 Week

Zicasso’s travel specialist put together a perfect trip for us. We were a large group, with large age and ability ranges—in addition to traveling over the holidays, so places being closed for the holidays was also a challenge. She made magic happen and, honestly, our trip could not have been more seamless.
