Bangkok – Flavors of Modernity and Tradition

With a cityscape that features grandiose skyscrapers that are topped with celebrated restaurants and streets that come to life with exuberant markets, Bangkok is a sight to behold that will serve as the finest first destination of your foodie tour through Northern Thailand. Your window seat will afford you views of the cultural landmarks that you will soon explore as you weave your way through Bangkok’s culinary hotspots. The energetic atmosphere will embrace you as soon as you have touched down and transferred to your accommodation.

An in-depth exploration of Bangkok’s delectable cuisine will begin shortly after you have unpacked your things. Your experienced guide will collect you in a spacious Tuk-Tuk, which is a traditional open-air vehicle that originated in Southeast Asia, and transfer you through the city on a behind-the-scenes food tour. The soundtrack of honking horns and shuffling feet will complement your journey as you slip through the infamous Bangkok traffic toward your first stop. An unassuming stall will sit alongside the street, and from yards away, you will catch the wafts of frying garlic. Drawing you closer and closer, those wafts will form stronger aromas as an authentic Pad Thai, which is a traditional rice noodle dish with meat, is brought to life and plated. You can sink your teeth into what is claimed to be the best Pad Thai in Thailand as your revered chef attends to other hungry visitors. After your meal, your chef will join you for a cup of Thai iced tea, and you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into their time-tested traditions. You will continue to more adored local eateries that are each firmly rooted in ancient Thai culinary practices for a rigorous exploration of the wonderful flavors that make up the cuisine.

The following day will bring with it a spectacular sunrise over the sky-high cityscape and will embellish the streets in a golden glow. Your private guide will meet you in the morning and will lead you on an inspiring cultural and food tour. After breakfast, you will wrap around toward the multi-colored, pottery encrusted walls of Wat Arun, which is an imposing temple that stands tall within the heritage hub of Bangkok. You will be able to feel the spiritual ambiance as it resonates from the ornately decorated walls while you wander through sacred buildings and peer into the elaborate main hall. You will continue to learn more about the endearing history at a select set of distinguished temples before setting off on a luxurious food tour of the cities classiest establishments. During your tour, you will luxuriate amongst the clouds at white-lined, coated tables as sophisticated meals are served to your table and paired with world-class wines. Michelin-stars cannot even begin to capture the premium atmosphere and exceptional taste that is exalted by the restaurants in which you will delight. This will bring your stay in Bangkok to an idyllic close.

Jon and I want Zicasso’s travel specialist to know how much we enjoyed and benefitted from the wonderful itinerary, great seats on domestic flights, caring and thoughtful tour guides, and more. What a great trip!

We spent three weeks in Vietnam and Thailand. The highlight of the trip was the wonderful guides and the unique itinerary. Great care was taken to arrive at destinations before the crowds and fast-track entrance with a personal guide with knowledge of the culture and history.

With six domestic flights throughout Vietnam and Thailand, we experienced the best of both countries. We loved the cooking classes and elephant sanctuary. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Thailand Vacation Review: Bangkok, Food Tour, Kayaking, Waterfall Hikes, 2 Weeks

Initially, I was hesitant to plan a private trip to Thailand, as we have always used organized, small-group tours. Since we were traveling as a family group of five adults, each with a very different agenda, I figured it was worth looking into. Zicasso was great and provided three itineraries, but it was one travel specialist who really listened to what we wanted and provided what turned out to be an absolutely perfect experience.

The whole itinerary was so well thought out. Days with heavy physical activities were balanced with a calmer day following. The itinerary was arranged to accommodate specific markets and events we wanted to experience. Our travel specialist or a team member checked in with us every night to let us know pick-up times and the names of our drivers and guides. Choosing hotels alone can be a daunting task and the travel specialist made great choices for us, with our floating hotel in Thailand being an absolute highlight.

As a traveler, I have learned to expect the unexpected and be flexible, yet this trip went perfectly, from communication to airport pick-ups to the guides and the itinerary itself. We were able to enjoy Thailand and our time together without any of the stress that usually accompanies a trip like this. The only thing that could have made this experience better would have been if we could have stayed longer.

Thailand, Vietnam Vacation Review: Lan Ha Bay, Cruise, 2 Weeks

Our trip planning and experience with Zicasso’s travel specialist was perfect from start to finish. The travel specialist was knowledgeable, professional, listened to our needs and wants, and offered valuable suggestions. The handoff to another team member was seamless—he followed up on all the little details (visas, etc.) so we didn't have to. Our domestic coordinator contacted us periodically to check in and give us reminders, but wasn't obtrusive.

The itinerary was catered to our pace; the hotels were all fabulous and within walking distance to other activities that we might want at the end of the day.

Our guides were all knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience feel personal. Exactly what we were looking for. They were flexible with our schedules and offered suggestions for other experiences when asked (where to have dinner, massages, etc.).

Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand Trip Review: Siem Reap, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Angkor Wat, Elephant Experience, Food Tour, 17 Days

The trip was wonderful. We went to five different places in 17 days. We got to see the best of Singapore, Siem Reap (including a wonderful show that was there just for us), Bangkok, Chiang Mai (where we bathed the elephants), and Krabi. All the stops were great and our guides were all fabulous. We had high tea with Zicasso’s travel specialist and his assistant in Siem Reap. It was nice to meet him. Any minor issue we had, the travel company stepped in and helped immediately. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
