Your Italy and Sicily tour begins with your arrival in Rome, where your private transfer greets you at the airport. Once settled into your hotel, your guide meets you for an evening orientation tour of the city, taking you to the iconic locations of Rome, including the Colosseum.
The next day, embark on a full-day guided tour of the city, from the Vatican Museum to the ancient grounds of the Circus Maximus. The UNESCO World Heritage site contains five ancient Greek temples. The next day has you en route to Taormina, where you traverse the magnificent landscape of central Sicily, and can even stop for a wine tasting in the various valleys along the way to the seaside. Take a day at your leisure to bask in the beauty of the Bay of Naxos. You could hike around the undulating cliffs of the coastline or trek to the craters of Mount Etna. You could even lounge on the beach and indulge in the Mediterranean sunlight.
Then, you travel across the Strait of Messina by ferry into the region of Calabria, before arriving in Sorrento, located on the Bay of Naples. The following day, you have a full day excursion to the charming Island of Capri to take in the endless allures of the natural and breathtaking scenery. Consider visiting the tremendous monastery of Monte Cassino, which is perched atop a hill overlooking a lush valley. You return to Rome in the evening.
