Frankfurt – A Sublime Welcome to Germany
Different realms create a harmony in Frankfurt. Glass-fronted skyscrapers dominate at first glance with Germany's financial hub reflected in the futuristic design. Their pinnacles rise high above the medieval square of Römerplatz, the heartbeat of the city's past. Somehow, the juxtaposition works in imposing a sense of both old and new. Greeted at the airport and transferred to a five-star central hotel, you’ll find the atmosphere captures this fusion of eras. On a short walking tour, explore the city's major monuments and enjoy classic German culinary treats. Detailed Description
It is easy to mistake the stereotypes of modern Germany with notions of its past. From medieval villages to neoclassical palaces, crumbling fortresses to Renaissance towns, Germany hides a delightful past. It's not just the architecture and landscapes that come from a distant era, step inside some towns and you're completely enveloped in the atmosphere of yesteryear. And what diversity! Confounding the preconception of a monotone culture, Germany takes you on a riveting journey where every destination is an absolute alternative to the last. This unique luxury itinerary connects the most inspiring of the dots, offering a handcrafted trip into a patchwork of surprise.
Begin and end in Frankfurt, a city where the old and new collides with remarkable harmony. Cruise along the River Rhine, rolling past medieval castles to the majestic spires of Cologne Cathedral, markers of an old city doused in color and cobbles. Continue through Lower Saxony, stopping off at poetic Hamelin and entering Hamburg, the self-proclaimed Gateway to the World. Spend a couple of days in Berlin, a capital whose attractions blend the sublime and surreal. Fabulous palace complexes and artistic treasures meet the historical resonance of the Iron Curtain with the togetherness of a modern city.
Stay to the east as you travel down to Dresden, its Baroque wonders juxtaposed with colorful graffiti and urban character. Move onwards into the charms of Bavaria, stopping to discover the mystique of Mödlareuth, Nuremberg, and Rothenburg. Munich is the next stop, a relaxed city filled with fine museums, beautiful gardens, and the fabled beer halls. As in Berlin, a free day gives you an opportunity to tailor the sights to your interests. Skirting across Southern Germany, return to Frankfurt via the Black Forest. Castles hang above valleys of green while Renaissance fortresses stand beneath the imposing backdrop of the Alps. It is serene and spacious, an almost wild land that presents an immersive look at the landscapes of Europe's past.
This private tour includes five-star hotels and a specialist driver guide. Most journeys are by saloon vehicle, other than those along the River Rhine. There are many other tours of Germany, so be to sure to enjoy all of the options for your trip of a lifetime.

Zicasso’s travel specialist did a great job planning what we asked him for. We had a group with a 20 y/o, a 50 y/o, and an 80 y/o. There was just the right amount of touring, availability of free time/hiking, and outside for all of us.
Our driver and guide was attentive, took us to places he knew we would enjoy, interpreted some German for us when we were in a special service, and anticipated our needs before we did (food!).
My mother is 83 years old and just last night asked me if I had a phone number for the travel specialist so she could call him and tell him what a great trip she had! That is success for me! Thank you so much!

Every driver and tour guide was on time, informative, and willing to make changes. It was a worry-free trip of a lifetime. I will be using Zicasso for our next vacation.

We have done a number of trips with Zicasso and the travel agencies they recommend. We are never disappointed! I must say that this agency was by far the best we have experienced. The travel specialist was a delight to work with and her colleague put together amazing details. She called us every day to check in and had her colleague do the same when she was away. They were attentive to every detail and made the trip such a pleasure. We will definitely use them again. I highly, highly recommend!

Our trip to Austria and Germany was initiated with a desire to see the Christmas markets. And yes, these were magical, but Zicasso’s travel company also included guided trips at each location to fully enjoy our trip. The private ride through Bavaria to Neuschwanstein Castle was Christmas-card picturesque. Walking through Vienna on a guided tour was as if we were visiting Franz Joseph and Sisi. The travel company created an itinerary that balanced the needs of a group with different ages, interests, and budgets, and everyone had a magnificent time.

It was a fantastic trip! We had enough to do in every location, but still enough free time to explore on our own. I do wish we had been given a bit more detail on some of the tours; we were surprised a few times. It did not negatively impact us, but it would have been nice to be more prepared.

We started our planning with Zicasso’s travel specialist, and she was fabulous to work with in creating the perfect itinerary. We then transferred to another travel specialist, who completed the work and created a bucket-list trip for us. Every detail was perfect. The drivers and guides were incredible and very flexible with our pace of traveling. We reconnected with the travel specialist during our trip through WhatsApp. She again kept us informed on schedules and contacts during our travels. The selected hotels were perfect for us. This was our third trip with a Zicasso partner and I am sure we will be back for adventure.
