Paris - Unfettered Romance of Paris

Paris radiates with the romance of iconic monuments and Bohemian allure. Cobblestones pave wide avenues. Diamond necklaces glint in sensational display windows of Cartier, located on the Champs Elysees. Parisians linger in candlelit restaurants at dinner and sip glasses of red wine. Paris embodies romance with its elegantly lit streets, historic buildings, and passionate mythology, which lends itself to the name, “City of Love.” Your flight lands at Charles de Gaulle Airport, where your private transfer awaits your arrival. The pearled façade of Basilique du Sacre Coeur glows in the evening light crowning the hill of Montmartre.

You settle into your luxurious hotel located near the heart of Paris. Spend your first night strolling around the city to get acquainted with the embracing streets. The Eiffel Tower twinkles with light, rising above the public space of the Champs du Mars. The tower was erected in 1889 and stands nearly 1,050 feet tall. The recognizable figure consists of an airy lattice construction that alights with 20,000 light bulbs on the hour from sundown until after midnight. Once the tower is in view, you feel that you have settled in Paris with the one you love. France Vacation Review: Paris, Nice, Lyon, Eze, Wine Tasting, 12 Nights

The trip was fantastic. The activities were spaced out well and each event was rewarding. The accommodations were centrally located, so we could enjoy the attractions each city offered. Overall, an amazing experience.

Excursions

The perfume experience in Èze, the wine tasting in Nice, and the romantic tour of Paris will go down as our favorites. However, the others were quite exceptional as well. Our guide in Nice was exceptional and provided a ton of wonderful extras.

Ranking at the bottom was the chocolate tour in Paris, but only because the others were so remarkable. The Louvre visit was canceled because of the heat in Paris, but the alternative museum filled in nicely.

Accommodations

The accommodations again were great and the staff at each location were very gracious. However, the hotel restaurant in Lyon was closed for dinner during our stay. Although we were able to find alternative arrangements, the reviews were such that we made plans to dine there because it was recommended.

Transportation

Private pickups and transfers within the country were seamless after the first day. The wait at the train station was a bit long, considering an earlier train was available. However, I believe I understand why the later train was selected to factor in potential flight delays from the US.

Staff

Being able to call or text when issues popped up was great. It allowed us to enjoy our experience and know we were being taken care of with thoughtfulness and care.

France Trip Review: Nice, Provence, Lyon, St. Remy, Local Cuisine, 10 Nights

Our trip to the South of France was absolutely amazing. We went to Nice, Provence, and Lyon. Zicasso’s travel specialists planned a fabulous itinerary and every detail was thought of. Each hotel was spectacular, the tours were great, and our travel specialist even made all of our restaurant reservations. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

France Trip Review: Provence, Arles, Pont du Gard, Gordes, 1 Week

Zicasso's travel company planned a trip to the Provence region in France for me and my wife. We contacted them in March 2026 and wanted to travel in May 2026, which was sort of last-minute. Nevertheless, they did a splendid job selecting two boutique hotels, setting up tours, and arranging transfers and train tickets.

We loved the hotels, thought the tours were excellent, every driver was extremely friendly and helpful, and the train ride between Avignon and Aix went smoothly. The only thing we had to do was arrange air travel to and from Boston and Marseille. In retrospect, I wish we had them arrange the air travel, since the flights we scheduled were not great, but that's a tale for a different review.

France Trip Review: Juan-les-Pins, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco, Paris, Provence, Montmartre, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Seine, 10 Nights

We had such a fantastic trip to the Riviera and Paris. Zicasso’s travel company made everything so easy and took great care of us. Our accommodations in Juan-les-Pins were very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, the hotel was ideally located, with easy access to other towns along the Riviera (Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco), and the staff was extremely helpful.

The travel company arranged three private guides for us (Provence day trip, Montmartre in Paris, and the Louvre) and each of the guides was prompt, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The travel company also booked a lunch at the Eiffel Tower and a dinner cruise on the Seine, and both times we had the best seats.

The app was easy to use to access our documents and itinerary, and they were available and responsive by text and WhatsApp for local assistance.

The itinerary gave helpful suggestions for areas or restaurants to explore, but also left flexibility for us to pick and choose. Our hotel in Paris was delightful. It was in a great location, with easy access to all of the sights, and very comfortable.

France Trip Review: Paris, Nice, Versailles, Cannes, Sainte-Chapelle, Musee d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Matisse Museum, Chagall Museum, Castle Hill, Cooking Class, Boat Ride, 10 Nights

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The people were friendly, the sights great, and the food was outstanding. The heat was challenging, especially in Paris. The jet lag also weighed on us the first week. We felt more energetic the second week. Your tour app was very easy to use and I liked having all the tickets there.

Both hotels were great. Especially having air conditioning in the heat. Really enjoyed the very personable staff at our hotel in Paris. Super-friendly all around. Would highly recommend our hotel in Paris. We had a great suite in Nice and everything was excellent at our hotel in Nice.

Paris and Nice were two different experiences - both great. Easy to get rides in Paris. Nice not so much. Greatly appreciated the arrangements you made to get us from airports to hotels to trains to hotels to airport. Removed a lot of stress. The people you arranged were all excellent.

The food was terrific. Really enjoyed your list to assist us. Having breakfast prearranged at the hotel was a great way to start the day. I did not appreciate the amount of time necessary to have lunch and dinner as it is the opposite of American quick eating.

Marie really enjoyed her French cooking class in Paris. The restaurant in Paris was an experience. Very good, but expensive. The restaurant in Paris was a great experience, but a little warm in the evening. We had two charming couples sit next to us that Friday evening: an English novelist and his daughter, and a couple from Australia who are involved in the Grand Prix racing business.

The hotel in Cannes treated us very well. Linda showed the staff pictures of her parents on their honeymoon there in September 1945. The staff presented my wife with a gift bag and we had an outstanding lunch there.

While you may not have viewed the pace of the travels as too busy, my wife thought it was busy, especially with long lunches and long dinners. Her pace at age 78 was much slower than Marie, who is 19 and does hiking.

My wife would have liked another day in Nice to go into the Monaco casino at night.

At Versailles and in the museums, Marie would separate from my wife and me, which caused my wife some anxiety (I ignored it as she is 19).

We did limited strolling in Paris because of the heat and because my wife’s legs got tired. She had more energy in Nice.

The Musée d’Orsay has one floor with Van Gogh, which is mobbed. The other floors were not terribly crowded. We should have started with the floor with Van Gogh. We really enjoyed the museum.

We enjoyed Versailles, but it was very hot that day and we were there in the heat of the afternoon. We did not see the outer buildings as we were whipped by the heat.

We really enjoyed Sainte-Chapelle and did not feel rushed.

We postponed the boat ride until 6:30 p.m. as it was so hot. Good that the tickets were flexible.

We saw the Eiffel Tower during the day and at night (with the dinner at the restaurant in Paris).

On the Sunday drive with our driver (he was charming) it was busy, yet afterward I felt maybe we did not allocate our time the best. Again, having no real appreciation for where we were going or the time to get from place to place, it is easier in hindsight to suggest adjustments. Part of this also was lack of alignment of my wishes, those of my wife and those of Marie.

All three of us agreed that the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild & gardens was a highlight. We loved the lunch and desserts as well. We had plenty of time as well and a beautiful day to visit.

We enjoyed our visit to Cannes, as the hotel visit was very emotional for my wife and they treated us very well. The time went very fast. In hindsight, I and Marie would have liked the boat ride and snorkel from Cannes, but not enough time.

On Wednesday we took a taxi to the neighborhood of the Matisse Museum and nearby monastery and gardens, and then walked down to the Chagall Museum where we had a great lunch under the trees while the museum was closed for the lunch period.

Marie and I also enjoyed going to the top of Castle Hill behind our hotel and walking through the park. We went swimming in the sea twice. Also enjoyed the pool at the hotel.

Thank you for your services in arranging a great trip.

France Travel Review: Reims, Wine Tasting, 9 Days

The trip was perfect from start to finish. Our travel specialist did an amazing job putting the tour together for us. All aspects surpassed our expectations. The hotels were beautiful, historic, and centrally located. The tours were exactly what we wanted and all the guides were exceptionally well prepared and knowledgeable.

We used a mix of private and small-group tours, which worked well and added to the experience. The transportation via TGV trains worked perfectly. This was our first time using Zicasso and we were thrilled with the results. It was truly a very memorable trip.
