After getting acquainted with your plush surroundings, you can enjoy your first candlelit dinner at one of the city’s many delicious restaurants.
Once you have finished dessert, a local guide will greet you to begin an exciting evening tour of Rome. First, you will venture to the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument. You will then ride the glass elevator to the top of the monument to experience some of the best views of the city. Your tour will continue to Piazza Navona, which will be full of beautiful fountains. The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, or Fountain of the Four Rivers, was designed by Bernini in 1651 and will be particularly impressive with its intricate and realistic details. Next, you will see another fountain that is Rome’s most famous: the Trevi Fountain. The majestic fountain will be magnificently illuminated and simply breathtaking. This will be the perfect end to your first night in Rome.
Rome – Tour Main Landmarks and Vatican City
You will begin day two with a tasty breakfast before heading out on a full day’s tour of Rome’s most popular attractions. You will visit the Colosseum, which was home to the gladiators, as well as the Roman Forum that is also filled with century-old ruins. Next, you will travel to the amazing Pantheon, which is one of Rome’s best-preserved ancient buildings. Here, you will get the chance to view its awe-inspiring dome, which is the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. You will then have some time for lunch before the afternoon tour continues to Vatican City, known in Italian as Città del Vaticano where you will see the sites in St. Peter’s Square before entering the remarkable St. Peter’s Basilica. One of the largest churches in the world, the basilica will impress you with its grand interior and numerous works of art.
