Day 1

Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve - Introduction to the Savanna

This morning, you land in Harare and transfer onto a light aircraft, bound for the southeast of Zimbabwe and Malilangwe, a wildlife reserve at the northern perimeter of the Greater Kruger ecosystem. While Zimbabwe may have slipped off the tourist trail, conservation remains strong in this country that values its wilderness. Check into your luxury lodge, and you’ll see dozens of hippos wading in the lake below. Throughout the day and night, this water source is visited by a large proportion of Malilangwe four-legged residents, so you just need to sit back, recharge the batteries after the flight, and enjoy your first impressions of the Kruger’s diversity. An afternoon game drive will provide exhilarating sights as you come face to face with rhinos and lion prides for the first time, along with the enchanting cast of antelopes. Although you’re on the edge of the Kruger ecosystem, at Malilangwe you’re already immersed in the wonders of wild Africa.

South Africa, Zambia, Botswana Trip Review: Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Helicopter Ride, Local Culture, 12 Days

Amazing trip. As first-timers to Africa, planning can be overwhelming. Zicasso’s travel specialist listened, helped us navigate our choices, and delivered a perfect itinerary. From Cape Town to Victoria Falls in Zambia and then Botswana, everything was well planned.

There were many transfers without any issues. I would highly recommend the travel company.

South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana Trip Review: MalaMala, Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, 10 Days

What an amazing trip! Everything at MalaMala was first-class. Our daily guide was extremely professional and very engaging. The emphasis on photography during our stay was a unique concept. Our time in the hide at our lodge near Victoria Falls proved to be one of our trip highlights.

South Africa Travel Review: Cape Town, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Franschhoek, Wildlife, 8 Nights

My wife and I had a wonderful experience and met nice people and professional guides that showed us a small part of your beautiful country. The pace of our stay was very good for older folks. We enjoyed Cape Town and all the sightseeing done with our guide: Table Mountain and the scenic drive to Cape of Good Hope, and the time spent in Franschhoek and the guided tour. The time spent at the game reserve gave us exposure to some of the wild animals that we had never seen but in movies or magazines.

Thanks to Zicasso’s travel specialist and her team for preparing our trip. It was very easy and the Zicasso website works very well.

South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe Vacation Review: Safari, Wildlife, Nature, 13-Day Trip

We’re still not over our trip! Everything was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for organizing such a great experience and making it so effortless for me. I already have family and friends asking who I went through, and I’m guessing some of them will be reaching out to you in the next year.

I do have one small piece of constructive feedback about our camp in the Olifants West Nature Reserve. The staff, lodge, and food were wonderful, but unfortunately, the safari guide fell short. We had just come from the camp in the Thornybush Game Reserve (where we left our hearts—the guide there was truly exceptional, with such a great personality), so the difference stood out even more. At the Olifants West Nature Reserve camp, we saw very few animals and the guide didn’t engage much—he barely spoke, and when he did, it wasn’t very professional or kind, especially toward my son. My son even said the trip might have worked better in reverse, since after Botswana it was hard to adjust to seeing only a few animals a day.

That said, I’m so grateful for how smoothly you planned everything, especially on such short notice. It really was a trip of a lifetime for us.

Thank you again!

South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Uganda, Egypt Travel Review: Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls, Winelands, Safari, Gorilla Trekking, Local Cuisine, 12 Nights

Our "Cape Town to Cairo" adventure was the trip of a lifetime and Zicasso’s travel specialist played a huge role in making it so successful.

I spent more than a year planning this journey and it was important to me to work with a travel specialist who was on the same continent and in a similar time zone. She was always available, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire process.

What impressed me the most was her support when we encountered a few unexpected snags along the way. She was immediately in contact, actively working to resolve issues and keeping me informed every step of the way. Having someone on the ground who could respond so quickly provided tremendous peace of mind.

From five wonderful days in Cape Town to our safari adventure near Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls, Botswana, gorilla trekking in Uganda, and, finally, Cairo, every detail was thoughtfully arranged. The travel specialist’s expertise, professionalism, and dedication allowed us to simply enjoy the experience and create unforgettable memories.

I would not hesitate to recommend this travel company to anyone planning an African adventure.
