Detailed Description
Norway’s greatest allure is its sense of space. Mountains dominate the landscape, and there are thousands of trails to try, including many that are ideal for children. Fjords stretch through the west of the country, which are epic features that can showcase nature’s scale. Even the cities are spacious, with large pedestrianized areas and entirely natural surroundings. This is a country that can feel like a family playground, and it will be yours to explore on this expertly crafted ten-day itinerary. From Oslo to Bergen, you will be immersed in the local culture, exceptional nature, and a family atmosphere that only Norway can offer.
You will kick off your family getaway with three nights in Oslo, which is a vibrant capital that has large pedestrianized areas and nothing too stressful. During your time here, you will be cruising on a fjord, visiting different children’s attractions, and learning all about the Vikings. Three days means time to relax and also means that you can see the best of what Oslo can offer. A short domestic flight will fly you to Kristiansand on day four, where Norway’s largest family amusement park will fill most of your day. Afterward, you can enjoy the beauty of the wilderness on a guided transfer to Stavanger, which is the capital of Norway’s Southwest. The Norwegian Children’s Museum is just one attraction here, and you will connect with local history and enjoy breathtaking views of your surroundings.
After two nights in Stavanger, you will fly to the fjords to Bergen during a private helicopter adventure that includes touching down beside a remote fjord and embracing the power of Norwegian nature. Bergen is surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords, making it a wonderful setting for leading your family into the outdoors and finding a place to connect with each other. A family cruise will also be included, and your final day can be tailored to how you feel near the end of your vacation.
You can expect to stay in stunning family accommodations throughout your vacation that will be complete with interconnecting rooms and warming amenities. Local guides will lead each excursion, and most of your activities are private, so they can be adjusted to your mood and energy. This ten-day itinerary is best in spring and summer because the weather is best, and long days allow for a more adjustable program. The route can be adapted for a fall or winter family vacation with inclusions that offer experiences in the snow and searching for the northern lights.

Zicasso's travel consultant at the tour company was amazing! She was so helpful in the planning stages. She met with us on Zoom several times until we got it right. Our trip was just what we had hoped for and more! During our trip, she was available anytime we had a question, which wasn't often because of the great planning. I would highly recommend the tour company.
This is the second time we have used Zicasso and both times they have connected us to the best travel experts. Highly recommended!

We loved the troll tour of the Ring Road. Our guide was great. It was very active, with some hilly climbs, which were challenging. Most of the tour hotels were good, but there were limited food choices in some locations, especially for vegetarians.
Our hotel in Reykjavík was fun and we enjoyed the restaurant there. The hotel was a bit noisy at night. We found and recommend a local café across from the Hallgrímskirkja as well.
In Norway, we loved our rooms in Bergen, looking out on the water. Our driver there was very nice. We enjoyed the train to Flåm, but wished we’d had two nights in our hotel in Balestrand, as it was exceptional. Food was included and very nice. We might have enjoyed a day tour with a local guide if we’d had more time. The ferries worked well.
Thank you!

We just returned from a three-week trip through Scandinavia. Our trip included stops in Stockholm, Oslo, Aurland, and Bergen, a cruise along the Norwegian coast, and Copenhagen. We are fortunate enough to be able to do two or three international trips a year. This was one of our best trips; a wonderful experience.
We worked closely with Zicasso’s travel designer at the tour company to plan this trip. From our very first contact with her, we found her to be very knowledgeable, with some wonderful ideas. And just as important, she was always super-responsive. The hotels she selected were terrific, the walking tours were very interesting, and our cruise on the cruise boat was unforgettable. We are fussy American travelers and the travel designer was still able to plan a perfect trip. I am already thinking about another trip to book with her and the tour company.

This was an excellent trip. The planning was easy and Zicasso's travel designer had great ideas that made the trip complete. Once under way, all went well. There was one miscommunication with a service provider that was quickly resolved and made up for.
