Timeless Views and Flavors
The endless beauty of Florence sits inside the medieval walls of the historic city emanating from centuries of artistic exploration, from painting to architecture, science to cuisine. The city center holds the images of Michelangelo and Dante Alighieri, Galileo and Brunelleschi. People line up outside of I Fratellini of Via di Calzaiuoli for a small sandwich and glass of wine, enjoying the feeling of smooth cobblestones beneath their feet. An assortment of fresh gelato decorate the display cases of Perche No! The creamy and sweet confections have an intoxicating aroma drifting out of the small shop.
Take in a view of the city at Piazzale Michelangelo, absorbing a panorama of Florence with the large dome of the Cathedral standing at its core. The brick reflects a deep red in the sunlight. Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in the city, decorates the Arno River. The bridge was constructed in the 14th-century and has Roman roots. Gold and silversmiths have inhabited the shops along the bridge for centuries.
Florence is quick to embrace and enchant you, filled with contemporary energy inside a detailed and preserved past. In the evening, you can dine on succulent pear and gorgonzola tortellini at a small, secluded restaurant across the river with a view of the piazza.

Zicasso’s travel company did such a great job putting the trip together. I was charged for an extra night at our hotel in Paris, but they are refunding that and the Cairo portion of the trip we had to cancel.
Our Paris tour guide was great and I’d recommend her to anyone. Our Rome tour guides were very good. Hong Kong was fine. Our Tokyo guide was wonderful.
Really, the only hiccup on the trip was our hotel in Hong Kong. The company that picked us up dropped us at one hotel, not the correct one. Thankfully, a couple of their bellhops walked us and all our luggage several blocks to the correct hotel. Our tour guide the next day also went to the wrong hotel, but we only lost about 45 minutes before we figured out the issue. If you use that hotel again, please make sure folks know which hotel is which.
The "Fast and Furious" car experience was OK; however, my grandson was so tired he slept through most of it. The chopstick-making was fun, as was the glass-blowing experience.

We had an amazing trip of a lifetime to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a fantastic job getting to know me and finding out what my exact wants were. They kept tabs on us while we were traveling and even contacted us when our train was delayed over an hour. When we had an issue, there was always someone there to help resolve it.

Our anniversary trip to Italy, which Zicasso’s travel specialist helped me plan, was magical. She spaced out our activities, so we got to see the major sites, but didn't feel overbooked. She was extremely helpful days before the trip, making sure we had detailed instructions and vouchers, and was available on WhatsApp while we were traveling. She was super-responsive during the planning and while we were on the trip.

I really liked the hotels and the Airbnb we were booked in. The breakfasts were lovely, and the staff was even lovelier. Also, I appreciated that we started our trip in a smaller place before we tackled the bigger cities. The excursions were nicely spaced out and we really enjoyed our start-of-the-season boat cruise, as well as the final market tour.
Our drivers were either early or on time, and our “long-haul” driver for two of our trips was great. He and my husband really hit it off.
I really appreciated that staff members were available when we needed them (even on the weekends and even when we were the ones who showed up in the wrong spot).

Zicasso’s travel specialist made this our best trip ever. She was communicative and accommodating, as well as always available for our questions. Every tour and every guide was exceptional. Their ability to communicate their enthusiasm and passion was jaw-dropping. We came back each day with our mouths dropped by the amount of information and the fun we had. Each hotel the travel specialist picked for us was great, offering the best locations and caring, accommodating staff. She was a lovely and genuine person.
One of the highlights was our cooking class with a chef. This does not diminish each tour guide; they were perfect. Also, she arranged private transport that made our trip a breeze from beginning to end. Especially cool was the taxi in Venice! Thank you, to our travel specialist and Zicasso, for an amazing vacation. Oh, the wine and olive oil were perfection. Highly recommend!
