Venice – A Family in Splendor
Venice is an assortment of hundreds of islands connected by bridges with boats meandering around the canals with ease. Your flight lands at Marco Polo International Airport, where your private transfer awaits the family’s arrival. You have tempted the kids with images of palaces and knights, remarkable naval battles and captivating history. The image of the city comes to you from the shores of the lagoon. The family boards a private vaporetto (ship) with a skipper ready to guide you to the hotel in the heart of the Venice.
The kids point out the gondolas drifting down the narrow canals. You notice the charming cafes lining the cobbled walkways. The vaporetto travels beneath arching bridges and alongside marbled facades, bringing you to the private dock of your hotel, situated in what was once a luxurious palace. The opulence of the palatial structure remains, filling the lobby with period furniture accentuated with modern amenities. After the family settles in, your guide meets you in the lobby, eager to lead you on an introductory tour of the maze-like streets.
Your guide gives the kids the challenge of lion hunting, which means picking out each lion, and winged lions filling the city. The animal is the symbol of St. Mark; it also became the symbol of the city in the 9th century AD. The kids go one step further on their scavenger hunt, connoting whether the book in the paw of the winged lions is closed or open, signifying when the Republic was either at peace or war respectively.

First time to the Olympics and an add-on to Switzerland! Zicasso’s travel specialist was great at listening to our needs and putting together an itinerary.
Our trip to Livigno was fantastic! The location to the two Olympic venues was ideal.
All of the details were covered and when we had a change in one of our day tours due to potential avalanches, the team at the travel company was extremely responsive and was able to adjust.
All of our transportation was well organized and on time. We also had to pivot when our flights home to the US were changed due to weather and the team quickly helped with adjustments to our schedule.
We loved the train from Italy to Switzerland.
We highly recommend this travel specialist and the travel company!

We had a fabulous trip to Italy, including to Sorrento, Taormina, and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist made sure every detail was taken care of, including stays in beautiful, well-located hotels and excursions that were interesting and fun for our family.
For example, she arranged for an airport host to assist us with our arrival to and departure from the Rome airport, and she was simply amazing, whisking us through the airport and eliminating stress for our family.

Aside from the delay because of the time change, working with Zicasso’s travel specialist was great. She took care of all arrangements in Sicily once our decisions were made. She confirmed with every hotel, driver, and guide, making sure our travel was effortless.
The guides were great, adding so much historical information to our attractions. Our drivers were friendly, providing us with clean, comfortable vehicles, safe driving, and interesting conversation about modern life in Italy. Our hotels were high-end, in city centers, with amazing breakfast buffets and professional, kind staff.
We used a reputable tour group for our first week of mainland Italy travel, but our experience with this travel specialist far surpassed the tour group experience and our expectations. I would not hesitate to use her again for any travel plans in Italy. She checked in with us pre-, mid-, and post-travel. There wasn’t one hiccup with the plans she made for us.
