Day 1
Treviso – Arrive in the Treviso with an Introductory Italian Meal
The medieval walls wrap around the charming city of Treviso as narrow cobbled streets border the trickling canals. The authentic life of Veneto spills out of the local cafes and grotto-style restaurants of the city. Your flight will land at Marco Polo International Airport, and your private transfer will await your arrival. The flatlands of the Venetian Lagoon offer an easy line of sight to the towering mountains along the distant horizon to the north. You will make your way to Treviso, a city restored after the bombings of World War II and the waterways will shimmer in the waning daylight as the labyrinthine streets lead to marvelous arcades.
The River Sile runs south of the city center, and homes rise alongside the canals and grassy banks. You will notice weeping willows that dangle their leaves into the water that brushes against the gentle current. Pass the imposing gateways to reach your hotel in the heart of town, and then stroll along the Via Calmaggiore to find the locals enjoying their passeggiata, a customary evening stroll.
