Island Denmark: Chalk Cliffs, Coastal Villages, and Maritime Heritage

Easy to work with. Fantastic holiday! Two weeks driving the Ring Road in Iceland, four days in Stockholm, then four more in Copenhagen. Ten hotels, tours, a car, mineral baths. All flawlessly planned. Zicasso's travel specialists were so helpful and communicated throughout the trip.

We had a wonderful trip to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen, and the fjords in Norway, with seamless connections, well-chosen hotels, and informative and fun tours and activities. Zicasso’s travel company did excellent work developing our itinerary and then following our trip to ensure it all proceeded smoothly.

We’ve never had a travel agency remain in such close contact during a trip. Our travel agent was an absolute pleasure to work with. She quickly responded to our emails and texts, and went through many iterations of our itinerary, honing it based on her extensive knowledge of the region and ensuring our complete satisfaction with it.

The trip planned by Zicasso's travel company was generally good. The walking tour in Copenhagen was about 50% a repeat of the food tour. The hotels were good. The rental car was good and pick-up was close to our hotel. It appeared we could have dropped off the car in Gothenburg, close to our hotel, rather than driving back to the airport. There was a hotel payment issue in Gränna, but it was resolved before we checked out.

In general — the trip was fabulous. Norway is beautiful and we had some amazing excursions in Flåm and Voss. Many of the activities were amazing and our time in Norway was great. This is our 5th or 6th Zicasso trip and I would rank it the lowest from a support and value standpoint. We had a few issues:

Both our excursions in Copenhagen were not great. The boat tour was a "social" tour which was very awkward for our teenage kids and didn't really focus on exploring the canals, etc. We were forced to share personal information and interact. They offered us beer and wine and then at the end said we had to pay for it after implying it was included. The food tour wasn't really biking or seeing the city and the commentary and information was minimal.

The hotel in Copenhagen had multiple issues, including not allowing us to check in until after 6 p.m. the day we arrived. When we did get rooms they were on different floors. The location was not great with homeless people everywhere, one night a man was peeing on the front door as we entered. There were many much nicer hotels in the city for less than we paid.

The recommendation to see the Disgusting Food Museum was a weird recommendation in Sweden. Expensive tickets for a museum that could be anywhere and it was gross — would not recommend.

We did not receive any recommendations for restaurants or things to do in any of our locations. Historically we get more info on where we are going with ideas and travel company recommendations.

The travel company did not reach out all during our trip to see how things were going, etc. We are used to much more hands-on service.

The travel for my daughter did not work. There was a complex plan to have her take a bus to a train. There was no way possible to make the bus and it only ran every 35 min, so missing it would have made her miss the train. I had asked to ensure there were backup options when I brought up this concern before the trip and was told it would be fine. We had to end up paying for transfers for her separately and work with one of our guides to figure it out for her.

We had complex travel with buses in Norway with minimal information. It was very confusing with all the multiple vouchers and not clear what we needed to do. I was able to figure it out but had to research and do it myself.

In Oslo, we were told we had a private tour. When we arrived we were told that was not the case and it was a public tour with cruise ship people. When I asked, I was told it was her mistake that she had told me I was paying for a private tour when it was actually priced as a public tour. The app and vouchers had said private.

In general, I'm fine with things like this, but of all the trips this was our most expensive and I would say the quality of the hotels/tours/and service was the lowest. Even when we removed my daughter for most of the trip and moved some tours to non-private early in the trip, the cost stayed the same.

I would highly recommend having Zicasso's travel specialist plan a trip to Scandinavia for you! Our group of eight just returned from an incredible two-week trip exploring the Scandinavian capitals and the fjords, and it was absolutely fabulous.

We stayed in wonderful 4- and 5-star hotels and had knowledgeable, engaging guides lead us on walking tours in each city. We also visited several charming towns throughout the fjords, where the scenery was truly breathtaking.

They did an amazing job planning a diverse range of activities, from exhilarating RIB boat rides to relaxing in a floating sauna. Every detail was thoughtfully planned and they made getting from one destination to the next completely seamless. They also consistently followed up with us throughout the trip to make sure everything was going as planned.

The travel specialist and the travel company truly planned the trip of a lifetime for our group. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a trip to Scandinavia!

We had a five-star trip to Sweden and Denmark, which was, in large part, the result of the outstanding work of our Zicasso travel company.

Planning our trip was complicated by the fact that it involved two couples with different travel dates and different priorities, with five days of overlap for shared time in Stockholm and for a driving trip to family heritage sites in southern Sweden. They listened to our needs/desires and put together travel plans that worked very well for both couples, individually and together.

We were delighted with each of the guides, drivers, and local activities they arranged. Of most importance to me was the rental car booking. I had been very concerned about these arrangements and am happy to say that this could not have been smoother.

We were also quite pleased with the hotels recommended by the travel company. They found properties and room types with features that met each couple's stated requirements perfectly. The one exception was our final hotel in Copenhagen, which, I should note, was a property I suggested as we had stayed there previously. We arrived at that hotel to find out we had two reservations, neither of which matched our confirmation. I will also note that we had asked the travel company to make a rather last-minute change to the number of nights we were staying at this property. We expect the problem was a mess up by the hotel and our travel company quickly and effectively resolved the issue with the hotel.
