Detailed Description

Legend says that when Columbus arrived on Cuba’s east coast, he proclaimed it the most beautiful place he had ever seen. The aromas of coconut and pineapple blend into the salty sea breeze. Colonial buildings tell a history of Spanish settlement. An archeological museum highlights the Aboriginal life and the first Cuban rebel leader. The Castro brothers’ childhood home stands in a small village. Classic cars and exciting music drift along the streets. Your custom tailored tour takes you to a part of Cuba where local life thrives without the hindrance of overwhelming outside forces.

Your adventure begins with your arrival in the city of Holguin. Your private transfer meets you at the airport and escorts you into the city center to experience the birthplace of Cuban music. On the following day, you venture to the town of Biran to visit the childhood home of the Castro brothers. When you return to the city, you explore the distinctive architecture and Afro-Cuban culture rich with art, music, and spirit. You can also take in a performance of the local ballet school. Next, your private transfer escorts you to the city of Bayamo, founded in 1513. Meet with students at a local art school for insight into the Cuban identity.

After dinner, you make your way to Casa de la Trova to hear the long-lasting traditions of Cuban music. Venture to a small town outside of Bayamo to meet with a community project helping low-income children with workshops, art classes, and dance lessons. Upon your return to Bayamo, you can have the day at leisure to enjoy the city. Visit the wax museum or the local artisan market. You travel to Santiago de Cuba stopping en route at El Cobre for a tour of Cuba’s only basilica. Once in Santiago, you have a guided tour of El Morro Fort and its maze-like interior. Start the day with a visit to the Moncada Barracks before visiting the oldest house in Cuba. Your guide leads you on an expansive tour of Cuba’s second largest city.

Afterward, you make your way along the Farola Highway for a scenic drive to the indigo coast of Baracoa. Bicycle taxis cruise through the street and the bordering mountains turn the town into a secluded paradise.  You venture into Duaba National Park to visit local farming families. Delight in a hike through the rainforest. In the evening, the farmer cooks a large feast to celebrate your company. Follow in the footsteps of Columbus and visit the local church. Enjoy a view of the landscape from the Castillo before you visit the remarkable exhibits at the archeological museum and spend time cruising down the Rio Tao.

You visit Cayo Saetia for a unique Cuban Safari en route to Holguin. Upon your arrival at Holguin airport, you fly to Havana for two nights to enjoy the endless vivacity of the capital city. The following day takes you on a grand tour of Old Havana and the surrounding neighborhoods. Discover the rich historic architecture and stunning museums. Visit a local cigar factory and take in a cabaret show. Enjoy the bustling neighborhoods along the Malecón. On your final day, your private transfer meets you at the hotel and escorts you to Jose Marti International Airport to check-in to your flight home.

Cuba Vacation Review: Salsa Lesson, 6 Nights

This trip was well worth every penny. Zicasso's tour operator was amazing and paid attention to every last detail. Our drivers and guide were so good. They knew exactly what we needed and wanted, and made sure the trip was perfect every single day. I know this sounds like I am gushing and that it couldn't have been this good, but it truly was!

Cuba Anniversary Vacation Review: Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad,...

Our Zicasso travel expert did a great job making all of our arrangements and making changes as needed while we were in Cuba. Our local guide and driver were excellent. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, very patient, and so gracious. Our driver took good care of us too. The guest house in Havana was amazing. The guest house in Trinidad was mediocre. The guest house in Varadero was in a great location and just fine. We loved the itinerary. The activities were diverse, interesting, and fun. We could not believe the VIP treatment we received everywhere we went – the dance school, the cabaret venue, restaurants, etc.

What a wonderful trip! Zicasso's travel agent and her team were outstanding. The trip was well planned to visit the popular Cuban cities and towns, and included a personal trip to where my son's father was born. All the tours were great. Thank you to our guide and drivers! The accommodations, restaurants, and entertainment were terrific.

Cuba Trip Review: Culture, 1-Week Tour

Cuba is a fascinating country. Zicasso's travel agent was honest and “real” from beginning to end. Having both an amazing tour guide and driver truly made the trip even better. We had a few hiccups that the tour guide, along with our agent, took care of immediately.
