Yogyakarta – Between the Lens and Culture
Yogyakarta embodies the soul of Java Island, from the temples to the language, traditional life in the palace complex to the ritual of producing batik, a traditional Javanese textile. Your flight lands at Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport, where your private transfer meets you upon arrival. The tropical landscape ambiance sweeps across the landscape with sporadic palm trees and lush greenery. The beaches shimmer with gold sand and rugged cliffs overlooking indigo waters. At Timang Beach, the cresting white waves splash against the coral stone framing the coast. A small cable car crosses the waters originally used by lobster fishermen.
The cables lead to the Watu Panjang Island, a secluded coral plateau offering an unfettered view to the horizon. Rickshaws and motorcycles rush along the streets. Red tiles rooftops dangle over hidden alleyways. The aroma of spiced peanuts and blossoming hyacinths drifts through the streets. The main market of Pasar Beringharjo brims with locals searching the famous textiles. The bright colors rush along the edges of the walkways leading to the historical back section. Stalls wedge close together, interspersed with cafes and restaurants.
The scent of noodle soup wafts upwards from large pots with hints of spice. Jackfruits form pyramids on displays beside coconuts and rambutan, offering glimpses of the traditional market. The first-floor spice market glows with rainbow colors emanating from sacks and boxes of turmeric, ginger, cloves, and dried flowers. You easily settle into the comforts of your hotel, viewing the movement of the city with an artist’s eye, and explorer’s sense of wonder.

I wish I could assign more than five stars to this trip. Zicasso’s travel specialist and his team were exceptional! From initial planning to seamless execution, attention to detail, and follow-up, we were blown away! We’ve had great experiences with Zicasso and this was hands down the best!
Our travel specialist answered every question promptly and provided so much additional information. He consistently checked in with us to make sure everything was going well and to our liking. It was truly customized, including a private craft beer tour in Kuala Lumpur for my husband. I don’t even remember telling him some of our preferences, like favorite sodas that were stocked in coolers by our guides. The guides were all prompt, knowledgeable, and kind, and took so many pictures for us.
The pace of the trip from Singapore to Bali to Borneo to Kuala Lumpur to Penang was comfortable in a two-week span because the service was so good!
I loved our hotel in Ubud and the incredible spa overlooking the river. The elephant experience was incredible, with some of my favorite pictures. We got lucky with the weather in Borneo, which was serene and beautiful. Singapore and Penang had excellent food and both our hotels were fantastic.
If you’re planning a trip to South East Asia, go with this travel specialist and his team. They exceeded all expectations!!! Huge thank you from Kristen and Dom!!!

Our 30th anniversary trip was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived at Denpasar International Airport and were met by Zicasso’s travel designer and his amazing team, we were in the hands of professionals who made our trip so enjoyable and educational.
The travel designer, with our input, arranged a journey through Bali that allowed us to experience the true heart of this country. We traveled daily with our guide, a man who truly loves Bali and its people. His wisdom flowed to us at each stop and he never tired of us asking question after question. We were met each morning with his enduring smile that never ceased to fade, no matter the length of our days.
As our trip unfolded, with the travel designer's advanced planning, we saw the real, true Bali, venturing to the countryside, away from clubs, touristy crowds, and selfie sticks. Each day filled our hearts with the Balinese people, for whom we came to love and now consider our family in Indonesia.
The travel designer made sure our accommodations at each stop were luxurious, experiencing solitude, scrumptious food, and an inviting personal plunge pool.
From experiencing the solitude of farmers working in their rice fields to nature walks, experiencing elephants up close, and hiking Mount Batur for sunrise, to strolling the countryside, meeting local people and learning their trades, to trekking through a rainforest, along with lazy days of cocktails by the pool, we loved our trip and it all came together with the efforts of the travel designer and his team. The joy we experienced was nothing compared to the joy they experienced by sharing their small part of the world with us!

Our recent trip to Bali was absolutely unforgettable and we owe it all to the incredible team that helped make it such a smooth and joyful experience. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned and flawlessly executed.
A huge thank you to our amazing Zicasso travel agent, who made coordinating a group of 11 people look easy. She ensured every detail was in place and helped us feel at ease throughout the entire process.
We were also fortunate to have our guide. His knowledge, warmth, and professionalism made each activity even more meaningful. And a big shoutout to our drivers for getting us everywhere safely and comfortably, with patience and smiles.
The activities were perfectly curated, from a beautiful birthday dinner celebration to yoga, the floral happy birthday message, the floating breakfast, and so much more; even the small, magical moments that were beautifully captured by the photographers who our travel agent arranged.
Every venue we visited went above and beyond to accommodate our group, and we felt genuinely welcomed everywhere we went. This was truly the trip of a lifetime and we’re incredibly grateful to our travel agent, guide, and drivers for making it such a success. We all had an amazing time and I would 100% recommend this team to anyone planning a visit to Bali.
Five stars all the way!

Our trip to a Bali was simply amazing and it could not have been better. I contacted three agencies about Bali a few years ago, but we didn’t end up going at that time. When we started to plan our Bali trip this year, we contacted Zicasso's tour company because they had been the most helpful the first time around.

Overall, Zicasso’s travel agent was excellent. The agent was very receptive to our requests, planned our trip very well based on our input, and every arrangement was seamless, without any hiccups.
Singapore is quite humid and can get hot, more than Texas. With walking everywhere, it can be uncomfortable, so perhaps plan to visit in the cooler months, based on local agents’ feedback.
Vietnam was a surprise in all dimensions. It had very good infrastructure. The travel agents took fantastic care of us and the trips to Ninh Bình, which included a bamboo boat tour, and Hạ Long Bay, with a private boat tour, were noteworthy and must-dos.
Bali was a magical and mystical land, with extremely polite and hospitable people and an extraordinary guide who was calm and facilitated our tour so well. The early-morning Mount Batur hike, though moderately strenuous, was worth it, as the sunrise was spectacular, and the trip to the Jagasari area was peaceful and so insightful. I highly recommend staying longer than the four days we stayed and perhaps changing the location to the coast and north side, as traveling within the island from one spot to another takes a long time. The highlight was the kechak dance performance. It gave us goosebumps.
The arrangements were wonderful, with great accommodations and transportation.
Thanks to our travel agent.
