Porto – Walking Tour of the City
Your trip will begin in Porto, where a private driver will greet and escort you to the comfort of your accommodation. After having some time to relax after your flight, your guide will lead you on a walking tour of the city. You will begin in Porto’s city center before being led to the Church of Santa Clara, Liberdade Square, the monument to King Peter IV of Portugal, the Ponte de Dom Luis I bridge, and Ribeira Square. Ponte De Lima – Citania De Briteiros
You will have an early morning so that you can make your way to Citania de Briteiros, which is one of Portugal’s most impressive archeological sites. This morning, you can attend a private yoga on the banks of a river. Afterward, you can have breakfast and a few hours to spend at your leisure. Around the middle of the day, your guide will lead you on a private tour of Ponte de Lima. Some of the highlights of your tour include the Ponte Medieval bridge, the Igreja da Misericordia church, and the Largo de Camoes plaza. After your tour, you will have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure.
Braga – Portugal’s Oldest Cathedral
After breakfast this morning, you will transfer to Braga. The city is also home to a pair of Portugal’s finest universities. After settling in to the comforts of your new surroundings, your guide will lead you on an introductory tour of the city. Your tour will include the Se Cathedral and Bom Jesus do Monte before concluding in the downtown area. Here, you will have some time to explore. You can also tuck into a charming restaurant for dinner before returning to your accommodation for the evening.
Guimaraes – Portugal’s First King
After breakfast, you will transfer to Guimaraes. Once you are situated in your new accommodation, your guide will lead you on a tour of the city, beginning in the town center. During your tour, you will also visit the site where Portugal’s first king was born before witnessing the Dukes of Braganza Palace and Largo Hill. Guimaraes is listed as the European Capital of Culture, and after your tour, you will have the opportunity to experience it further. After your tour, you will have the evening at your leisure.
Chaves – Sip the Wine of the Dead
This morning, you will venture to Chaves. After acquainting yourself with your new accommodation and having some time to eat, your guide will lead you on a guided tour of the city. Your tour will lead you to many of the city’s most iconic landmarks and monuments before allowing you to sip what the locals call “the wine of the dead.” Your experience will allow you insight into the history of the region as well as an exciting exploration of new things. Following your tour, your guide will return you to your accommodation.
Coimbra – Portugal’s Oldest University
After breakfast, you will transfer to Coimbra. Settling in to your new accommodations will be the first thing you do in Coimbra. When you are ready, your guide will lead you on a historically-based tour of the city. Coimbra is one of the oldest cities in Portugal, and it also happens to be the home of the oldest university in the country. After your tour, your guide will lead you to a spot that is known for incredible sunsets. You will then have the rest of the day to yourself.
Tomar – The Past of the Knights Templar
After breakfast, you will depart Coimbra for Tomar. Here, your guide will lead you on an enlightening tour that will have you following in the footsteps of the Knights Templar. You will also be treated to a visit to the 12th-century Convento de Cristo, where the Knights were known to gather to attend religious services and other meetings. Your tour of Tomar will reach its climax at the National Forest of Seven Hills, which is a gorgeous setting with gardens and lush greenery. After your tour, your guide will allow you the opportunity to indulge in a sunset picnic in one of the gardens.
Sintra – Visit Sintra and Cascais
This morning, you will transfer to Sintra, where you will tour Sintra town. Your tour will lead you to the Pena Palace and the Castelo dos Mouros. This tour will last for the majority of the morning. Afterward, you will transfer to the town of Cascais, which is a coastal favorite of tourists and locals. Here, you can relax on the beach or partake in a variety of water activities. You will have the rest of the day to spend on the beach before returning to Sintra in the evening.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
