Detailed Description

Spanish culture is lived outdoors, its plazas and playas filled with excitement for the whole family. Pedestrianized streets and interactive museums make the cities safe and fun for children. Likewise, calm Mediterranean waters and a serene setting provides beach relaxation for everyone. The unique appeal of Spain is wide-ranging: from flamenco dance classes to famous football stadiums and treasure hunts that span the centuries. Combining Barcelona, Sitges, and Seville, this unique vacation handpicks the best of family-friendly Spain and ensures everyone gets immersed in the country's infectious style. Follow Columbus across the high seas and explore the beauty of Gaudi, without boring the youngsters. Visit a chocolate museum, recreate ancient Spain with 3D glasses, and spend four days in a quaint coastal town that offers resort ease without the crowds. Each day is tailored to offer an evocative version of Spain that excites the whole family.

This kid-friendly Spain tour begins in Barcelona, Europe's iconic mix of Mediterranean bliss with cultural interaction. Gaudi's Parc Guell is a seductive sign of things to come, the sublime and surreal architecture spiraling around children's playgrounds and benches with stunning views over the city. Visit Europe's biggest Science museum, the interactive CosmoCaixa, then spend day three taking cute funiculars to attractions in the mountains that rise above the city. Mouths get smattered in chocolate on day four and the excitement is run off with a historical treasure hunt at Poble Espanyol. Depending on your children's interests, there's a chance to visit either the Camp Nou football stadium or the huge L'Aquarium de Barcelona.

Coastal Sitges is barely an hour from Barcelona, a quaint town of whitewashed houses standing above shallow sapphire waters. Streets of art nouveau architecture descend to quiet beaches as Sitges retains the indelible atmosphere of Spain, unlike some of the Anglo resort towns elsewhere in the country. The rhythm is one of siesta, of lounging along the beach and enjoying broad town squares filled with calm cafes. A broad shallow sea without currents is ideal for younger swimmers and the grand old houses of new-world explorers provide sprinklings of cultural charm.

Following four days on the coast, you fly to Seville, a city of intrigue and fascination in the heart of Andalusia. Be welcomed with a family flamenco dance class then sit back to watch how the experts perform at the Museo de Baile Flamenco. Seville excels in child-friendly museums; recreate the adventures of Columbus in his hometown at Pabellon de Navegacion, and don the 3-D glasses to wander through the beguiling history of Spain at Past View. Much like Barcelona and Sitges, Seville has large pedestrianized areas filled with families sharing time together. Private transfers between attractions are included throughout the whole itinerary, ensuring no confusing hours on the metro system.

Spain Family Travel Review: Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Cordoba, Barcelona, Cathedrals, Mosques, Cooking Class, Tapas, Biking, 9 Nights

The recommended activities were amazing for our trip.

We started in Madrid, then went to Toledo, Seville, Córdoba, and Barcelona. Highlights for my kids (15, 13, and 13) were the cathedrals, mosque, cooking class, walking tapas tour and e-bike tour.

All of our drivers and tour guides were prompt, knowledgeable, and listened to our preferences.

The hotels in Madrid and Seville were perfection and located close to major areas.

The only reason I gave the trip four instead of five stars was that the travel company made a mistake booking our hotel in Barcelona. We found out the night before that our hotel was switched and the new hotel was not in the best area and far from major attractions. The company did offer to reimburse us for taxis and sent us a gift and apology letter. However, I would have preferred to book my own hotel in Barcelona but the day before it was too late for me to research and change the hotel. That particular experience marred what was an otherwise fantastic trip.

Our trip was fantastic. The guides were excellent. The Madrid wine tour guide was excellent, our guide for the walking tour of Barcelona was excellent, our guide for the walking tour of Madrid city was excellent, and our guide for Tarragona and Sitges was excellent. We were so pleased with all the tours that I will not change anything for our next trip with you guys. I appreciate your company and the way you handle things. Zicasso’s travel specialist was so helpful. Thank you so much. I can't wait to do this all over again.

Spain Tour Review: Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Malaga, Toledo, Granada, 10 Nights

The owners of Zicasso’s tour company were amazing from start to finish. They curated a custom trip for us to Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Málaga, Toledo, and Granada. They listened to our requests and came up with a brilliant itinerary that included personal drivers, hotels, dining recommendations, and tour guides. They were also so quick to respond to our questions and pivot our plans when needed. This was a very special 30th-anniversary trip for us and they knocked it out of the park.

Spain Vacation Review: History, Architecture, Hiking, E-Biking, Barcelona, Caminito del Rey, Marbella, 2 Weeks

Zicasso's travel specialists did a great job for us. They clearly listened to us and curated an experience that was made specifically for us. It checked all of the boxes and more.

Highlights were the local tour guides in each city. It was great to meet and get to know local people, learn so much history, see the architecture (Gaudí in Barcelona and the awesome palaces and cathedrals that we visited), the Montserrat hike, Caminito del Rey (which was absolutely better with a guide), and the Marbella e-bike adventure.

The hotels were wonderful; all unique and all great choices. We came home happy and tired, which is the sign of a good trip for us (since we do not ever sit on beaches or at pools and relax!).

Spain Tour Review: Pyrenees, Costa Brava, Menorca, Barcelona, History, Hiking, Countryside, 12 Nights

Our two week trip to Spain was amazing. Zicasso’s travel agency worked with us to book great places to stay and connected us with three wonderful, private tour guides when we were in Barcelona. With this said, the trip ended up costing much more than we expected it to, given we only had two full days of guides in the city. We chose to navigate and had no problem finding the trails and hikes we wanted to spend the majority of the time enjoying by ourselves.
