Longyearbyen – A Charming Town Surrounded by Wilderness
The adventure begins, flying north from Oslo to the Arctic. Longyearbyen awaits, a small town between fjord and forest. While the surrounding landscape feels old and untouched, Svalbard’s main town has a modern facade, with contemporary architecture draped around the waterfront. It can seem like a strange juxtaposition, the wilderness surrounding such a modern urban landscape. However, it works well for your first night in Svalbard. The adventure is just beginning to settle into the modern amenities, glimpsing the fjords and snow world that exists beyond the waterfront. Now is the time to rest and relax, for there’s so much to come once you embark on the MS Fram.

Zicasso's travel consultant at the tour company was amazing! She was so helpful in the planning stages. She met with us on Zoom several times until we got it right. Our trip was just what we had hoped for and more! During our trip, she was available anytime we had a question, which wasn't often because of the great planning. I would highly recommend the tour company.
This is the second time we have used Zicasso and both times they have connected us to the best travel experts. Highly recommended!

We loved the troll tour of the Ring Road. Our guide was great. It was very active, with some hilly climbs, which were challenging. Most of the tour hotels were good, but there were limited food choices in some locations, especially for vegetarians.
Our hotel in Reykjavík was fun and we enjoyed the restaurant there. The hotel was a bit noisy at night. We found and recommend a local café across from the Hallgrímskirkja as well.
In Norway, we loved our rooms in Bergen, looking out on the water. Our driver there was very nice. We enjoyed the train to Flåm, but wished we’d had two nights in our hotel in Balestrand, as it was exceptional. Food was included and very nice. We might have enjoyed a day tour with a local guide if we’d had more time. The ferries worked well.
Thank you!

This was the first time I had ever used a travel agency to book anything and it was amazing. The trip went perfectly and it was so nice not to have to worry about all the details. I can't recommend the experience highly enough!

This was our first experience with customized travel plans. We couldn't have been happier with the personal attention in planning and during the trip. Zicasso's travel professional was on top of every detail and available at all hours whenever adjustments were necessary.

We just returned from a three-week trip through Scandinavia. Our trip included stops in Stockholm, Oslo, Aurland, and Bergen, a cruise along the Norwegian coast, and Copenhagen. We are fortunate enough to be able to do two or three international trips a year. This was one of our best trips; a wonderful experience.
We worked closely with Zicasso’s travel designer at the tour company to plan this trip. From our very first contact with her, we found her to be very knowledgeable, with some wonderful ideas. And just as important, she was always super-responsive. The hotels she selected were terrific, the walking tours were very interesting, and our cruise on the cruise boat was unforgettable. We are fussy American travelers and the travel designer was still able to plan a perfect trip. I am already thinking about another trip to book with her and the tour company.

This was an excellent trip. The planning was easy and Zicasso's travel designer had great ideas that made the trip complete. Once under way, all went well. There was one miscommunication with a service provider that was quickly resolved and made up for.
