Detailed Description

Morocco holds an enchanting place in many people’s hearts, whether having been there once or only dreamed of visiting. The country stands at the western edge of Africa and has stood as a bridge between European and Arabian cultures for more than a millennium. Your 12-day Morocco tour for seniors explores the cities, desert, mountains, and countryside at a particular pace designed for travelers 50 and over. Your Moroccan discovery begins with your arrival in Casablanca. The city has a layer of modernity overlaying its cultural history, along with a unique embrace of its French colonial past. Your private transfer escorts you from the airport to your hotel.

The following day, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a morning tour of the city before continuing to Rabat, the current capital of Morocco. A half-day tour of Rabat shows you the Royal Palace and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Then, your guide leads you along the remaining cobbled streets of the Roman city of Volubilis. In the afternoon, you visit the former imperial capital of Meknes and settle into a stunning historic mansion in Fes. The next day, your guide meets you after breakfast, eager to show you the cultural center of the medieval city of Fes, from the old city streets to the iconic tanneries. Consider reading other Zicasso travelers' Morocco travel reviews to figure out how to best customize your Morocco tour of a lifetime.

Next, explore the “New City,” which was erected between the 13th and 14th-centuries, and spend time in the Berber village of Sefrou. Travel along the road taking you through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in the quiet town of Midelt before continuing onward to Merzouga, a town bordering the edge of the Sahara Desert. In the morning, you discover the captivating landscape of the Sahara on a jeep safari, eventually reaching a luxurious campsite overlooking the illustrious sand dunes where you can enjoy an evening under the desert sky.

You return to Merzouga before making your way to Todra Gorge and its remarkable landscape. Witness the natural beauty of the Dades Valley and visit Berber villages situated near rose plantations. In the afternoon, you can explore the earthen roads of the ochre colored city of Ouarzazate. Your guide leads you across the Atlas Mountains once more, this time bringing you to the captivating city of Marrakech. Your afternoon tour introduces you to the splendor of the old city and Djemaa El Fna Square. Have a full day guided tour of Marrakech’s enchanting culture, from palaces to historic schools. Spain, Morocco Trip Review: Madrid, Seville, Granada, Gibraltar, Malaga, Cordoba, Casablanca, Oualidia, Marrakech, Tapas Tour, 17 Days

The custom trip and itinerary were developed by Zicasso’s travel company and they made numerous recommendations for exploring, starting in Spain, in Madrid, and continuing down to numerous Andalusian cities, including Seville, Granada, Gibraltar, Málaga, and Córdoba.

Not only was the itinerary prepared with great detail and consideration, but every effort was taken to ensure the lodging requested met five-star requirements. Drivers and guides were assigned to us at all of our destinations, and this included airport arrivals and departures. Drivers and guides were not only punctual, they were personable and extremely knowledgeable, with decades of experience.

Our trip continued to Morocco, where we flew into Casablanca from Málaga. Again, airport connections were perfect and we had VIP arrival service on landing. Our driver and guide were aligned with us for the week we spent between Oualidia and Marrakech. Lodging was exceptional and our expectations were certainly exceeded.

Furthermore, the travel company made it a point to communicate with us openly over WhatsApp, answering the few questions we had in a prompt manner and checking in with us throughout the trip.

This is the first time I have 100% used a travel company and I could not have been more pleased with the delivery of the trip and the overall cost.

Morocco Vacation Review: Atlas Mountains, Medina, Wine Tasting, Roman Ruins, Blue City, Cooking Experience, 8-Day Trip

The trip was extremely well planned and coordinated. We got to enjoy many contrasting aspects of Morocco. Everything played out exactly as planned. At no point were we left to figure things out on our own; there was always somebody available, either our exceptional driver or one of the many great guides.

We covered a lot of ground during our eight days and saw a wide diversity of incredible things, from the souks in the medina, to preparing a traditional lunch with a Berber family in the Atlas Mountains, to incredible mosques, palaces, and kasbahs, to enjoying a wine tour in the wine valley, to second-century Roman ruins, to the splendor of the Blue City, and much, much more. At the same time, we never felt rushed.

This experience was well worth it and Zicasso’s travel specialist and his team made it happen! We highly recommend using their services.

The trip was very enjoyable. Zicasso’s travel specialist was very responsive to changes during the trip. It was long and the boys got tired, so we were adding and subtracting activities daily.

Our 10-day trip to Morocco through Zicasso’s travel company was everything we hoped for and more. Our travel specialist, his staff, and particularly our driver, met our expectations and beyond. Our accommodations, made at their suggestion, were extraordinary. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. We felt truly pampered and were personally cared for from the moment we met our driver at the airport until we sadly said "goodbye."
