If you visit the Hassan II Mosque, you will immediately be hit by the silence. You will travel from Morocco’s largest international airport to this vast, modern mosque and join a small group tour. From here, you will have about an hour transfer to Rabat, which is a glorious imperial city that also likes to surprise its visitors. This time, you will be guided by sounds, following the harmonic call to prayer through Oudaya Kasbah and tracing the chatter of locals along twisting streets. Your riad will be in the heart of this old maze and within a short walk of the Hassan Tower. As the afternoon fades into evening, you can drift off to Morocco’s medina lullaby.

Detailed Description

Morocco is an experiential country. This private 2-week tour explores the experiential highlights of Morocco. Traveling at a relatively slow pace, your time spent on this tour will offer you space to feel Morocco and its beauty. You will fly to Casablanca and then to Rabat to witness the grandeur of the Hassan II Mosque. The imperial capital will be followed by a day in Asilah en route to Chefchaouen, which will be your base for several nights. Authenticity fills the blue town, and a hammam will be just one part of your experience. You will then visit three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one day: Volubilis, Meknes, and Fes. Afterward, you will have a full day of discovery amid Morocco’s largest medina.

From Fes, you will travel through the mountains. Here, you will stop at Berber villages en route to a boutique Bedouin camp. Hidden by the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, the camp will provide you with a luxurious desert experience. You can expect solitude, serenity, and the surreal beauty of the sand as it changes colors. You will then take a direct flight from the desert to Marrakech, which is a red city that is full of charm. You will need two full days just to get started here. After all of the impressions, you will retire to the coast with a couple of days in Essaouira, which is a fine walled city that complements Marrakech’s craziness. While you may see it as a typical coastal getaway experience, Gnawa drumming will be one reminder that the unique experiences never end in Morocco.

Having local guides in each of our stops was outstanding! We appreciated their in-depth knowledge and the context they gave to our surroundings. Also, having a single driver for the week was fantastic; he took great care of us!

Morocco Trip Review: Marrakech, Hammam, Food Tour, 9-Day Trip

Zicasso's trip expert was great in getting back to us, answering our questions. He even rearranged things to get us a hammam at the last minute. All the hotels were first class. Our driver was fabulous. He really knew his craft and made the trip so much more fun. The guides were all good.

The only thing I would change is not to do anything the first day after arrival, but relax. Marrakech is a bit overwhelming if you are tired from your trip. Be sure to let him know about your hotel preferences.

I would highly recommend this travel company.
