Dongwe – Spacious White Sand and Tropical Waters
Zanzibar is serene. Palms send their iconic shadows across the sand each morning, the indigenous forest provides a green backdrop to a white beach, and at low tide, you can wade through almost a mile of knee-deep tropical water. Even at high tide, these waters are sheltered and safe for swimming. You will experience space here, and Zanzibar is a relatively undeveloped island, especially compared to others in the Indian Ocean. Dongwe is on the island’s undeveloped Eastern Coast, which is where small resorts are spread along a beach that can never seem to end. After being met at Zanzibar’s international airport, you will be transferred to the resort for the first of four nights.

Our trip was incredible. The guides were excellent, especially our guide with 30 years of experience. We were very thankful to have everyone who guided us at the airports, especially in Nairobi, which we would not have been able to get through without their help. The assistance in Zanzibar was very helpful, as one of us did not have a visa yet. We appreciated the guidance and patience from the Zicasso team.

Our trip to Kenya and Tanzania was magnificent. Zicasso’s travel company planned a trip for us that took into consideration all our requests, from seeing Mount Kilimanjaro to visiting camps with open Jeeps for game drives.
They were extremely helpful before the trip when we had an issue with my visa and made sure I had the support I needed from their travel partners on-site.
All of the camps they selected for us were great. They checked in during the trip to make sure everything was going as planned and followed up on our return for any comments we might have had. We can’t say enough good things about this travel company.

From the beginning of planning until my return home from a sensational trip, Zicasso’s travel specialist provided optimum guidance, follow-through, and personal attention. She listened, absorbed, and responded to my concerns with patience and diligence, responded promptly to every question, and proactively provided detailed information on every aspect of the arrangements I might possibly encounter.
She kept in touch with me and the ground operators at every step of the journey itself, ensuring things went smoothly and I received timely information of any changes (typical with African bush flights). The care was particularly reassuring, especially for a woman traveling alone, leaving me confident that all considerations were being attended to and able to fully enjoy the experience free of any concerns about logistics, personal safety, and comfort. I cannot more highly recommend this travel specialist and would not hesitate to engage her services for future travels.
