One-Week Marvels of Milan for Seniors

After a relaxing morning, you will meet your guide and begin your tour for the day. Your guide will first lead you to Milan Cathedral. The cathedral is the largest church in Italy, and its stained-glass windows and intricate statues can be found everywhere you turn. Your tour will then continue to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. This ancient church dates back to the 15th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, your guide will lead you to the location of the former refectory, where you will see Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper.

After breakfast this morning, you will tour the Brera Art Gallery and Sforza Castle. The Brera Art Gallery is part of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and is home to a vast collection of paintings. Masterpieces by greats, such as Raphael and Tintoretto, can be seen everywhere you turn. Your tour will then continue to the Sforza Castle. Today, Sforza Castle is home to multiple museums, and you will explore a few of them with your guide. Here, you will be able to see Rondanini Pietà, which is Michelangelo’s last sculpture.

After breakfast this morning, you will set off on an excursion to the Lake Como area. After your scenic ride, you will arrive in the city of Como and be greeted by a local guide. First, you will explore a few of Como’s highlights. The city’s age-old churches and charming piazzas are magnificent, and during some free time, you can enjoy a refreshing lunch at an outdoor cafe. Later in the afternoon, you will board your boat for a ride around Lake Como. In the evening, you will return to Milan.

After breakfast, you will have some free time this morning to spend at your leisure. Perhaps, you will continue to unwind at your hotel or explore another museum. Later in the day, your guide will lead you to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to discover some of Milan’s incredible shopping scene. The Galleria is the oldest shopping mall in Italy and is known as a premier shopping destination. Here, you can enjoy several hours to explore some of the mall’s many glamorous shops and boutiques. After the Galleria, you will then be led to the Golden Rectangle, which is another area that is known for its high-end shops.

After breakfast, you will begin your trip to the Valpolicella area. Valpolicella is known for its amazing wines, and today, you will have the chance to tour a local winery and indulge in several tastings. The winery owners will greet you and be your tour guides at the winery. First, you will explore the vineyard, where you will learn about the different grape varieties. Your tour will then head indoors, where you will get an up-close look at the cellar enjoying several tastings. After you have finished, you will return to Milan for the evening.

After enjoying some time to explore the city on your own, your driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
