Milan for Seniors: 7-Day Tour in the Fashion Capital

This morning, you will have some time to enjoy breakfast and some leisurely time at your hotel before your guide leads you on a tour of a few of Milan’s most iconic landmarks. Two of the primary highlights that are included in your tour are the Milan Cathedral and the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. The Cathedral is the largest one in Italy, and its size and grandeur will instantly impress you. The ancient church dates back to the 15th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After you learn about the church, your guide will lead you to the location of the former refectory, where you will see Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece mural, the Last Supper.

You can indulge in breakfast at your hotel this morning before your guide leads you to the Brera Art Gallery and Sforza Castle. The Pinacoteca di Brera or Brera Art Gallery is part of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and is home to a vast collection of paintings. Masterpieces by greats, such as Raphael and Tintoretto, can be seen here. Your tour will then continue to the Sforza Castle. Today, Sforza Castle is home to multiple museums, and you can explore a few of them with your guide. Eventually, you will get the chance to view the Rondanini Pietà, which was Michelangelo’s last sculpture.

After a quick breakfast, you will set off on an intriguing excursion to the Lake Como area. After your scenic transfer, you will arrive in the city of Como and be greeted by a local guide. The first sights of Lake Como will be impressive, and you can explore a few of Como’s highlights. The city’s age-old churches and charming piazzas are magnificent, and with some free time, you can enjoy a refreshing lunch at an outdoor cafe. After the Galleria, you will be led to the nearby Golden Rectangle. This neighborhood of Milan is filled with cobblestoned streets and is another area known for its high-end shops.

You will have an early start this morning and transfer to the Valpolicella area. Valpolicella is known for its amazing wines, and today, you will tour a local winery and indulge in several tastings. The beautiful Italian landscape will surround you as you navigate the winding roads. The winery owners will greet you and lead you on an engaging tour that will allow you to explore the vineyard, learn about the different grape varieties, get an up-close look at the winemaking process, and enjoy several delicious tastings. After your time at the winery concludes, you will return to Milan.

With one more glorious morning in store, you can set out and explore a few more of the wonderful roads of Milan. You can head back to the premier shopping district or bask in your final sights of the city. After breakfast and a few hours at your leisure, your driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
