Greek Legends Come Alive: Family Adventure to Athens, Santorini, Crete

This morning, you will begin your ascent to the Acropolis. Your first stop will be the Acropolis Museum. After the museum, your guide will lead you to the Acropolis. Here, you will see architectural relics, such as the Temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, the Parthenon, and more. Pericles built the Parthenon sometime around 440 B.C. in dedication to the goddess Athena. After you have finished conversing with ancient gods at the Acropolis, your family will enjoy an evening trip to the astonishing Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounion.

This morning, you will board a private aircraft for your transfer to Santorini. While the flight will be short, the aerial views of Athens and Santorini are magnificent. Shortly after, you will arrive in Fira, which is the capital of Santorini. Early check-in will be arranged at your hotel, and your family will be free to stroll the streets. Around noon, you will meet your scuba diving instructor and embark on an underwater adventure through sacred caves and caverns. After your excursion under the sea, a master chef will teach your family how to prepare a traditional Greek dish consisting of Greek salad, lamb, and baklava.

This morning, you will partake in a kayak tour through the calderas. Your guide will be a highly experienced kayaker and will be intimately familiar with Santorini’s geology and history. Throughout your tour, you will glide over underwater volcanoes while your guide provides you with an engaging presentation of this beautiful area. No vacation to Santorini would be complete without a proper beach day. Your family will spend the rest of the afternoon on a world-class Santorini beach. In the evening, your hotel will provide you with a traditional Greek dinner.

Today you will transfer to the mystical island of Crete. At the marina, you will transfer to Crete on a private ferry. Once you arrive, your private chauffeur will escort you to your hotel. Around noon, you and your guide will embark on an off-road excursion through majestic mountain passes, legendary caves, and sacred monasteries. Your experienced driver will swiftly and safely navigate through the Dikti Mountains and the Lassithi Plateau. Once you are finished, you will walk a short distance to reach the entrance to the Psychro Cave. Once you exit your tour of the Cave of Zeus, you will then begin the sight-seeing portion of your off-roading adventure.

After breakfast, your family will discover the secrets that lay below the earth. Your guide will be waiting in the lobby to drive you to an ancient Minoan site and will provide your family with all the necessary tools to excavate the site, including gloves, chisels, brushes, bags, and magnifying glasses. After the excavation, your guide will take you to a ceramic school. Your teacher will be an expert in artisan Minoan pottery and will give you an overview of what makes this art unique. Your family will then be given the opportunity to handcraft your own Minoan-inspired pottery.

This morning, you will indulge in your last Greek breakfast before your private driver transfers you to the airport for your flight home.
