Day 1
Santa Clara – Arrive in Cuba with Introductory Dinner and Music
The ethos of Cuba has reached legendary proportions, telling of an island paradise filled with marvelous culture, American-made cars from the 1950s, and cigars considered as much of a delicacy as the rum native to the island. As visitors from around the world travel to Havana, Santa Clara remains a hidden gem. The city stands at the heart of the island and remains a center of creativity and edgy youth culture. Graphic artists and political cartoonists, rock festivals and the university campus maintain the city’s rugged ambiance with its historical association with Che Guevara, who liberated the city in 1958, marking the end of the Batista regime in Cuba.
Murals featuring cartoonish characters depict anti-war sentiments showcasing soldiers shooting doves from their rifles, as well as the fragile relationship between the United States and Cuba. Local artists produce a variety of spectacles, changing the images along the western edges of Carretera Central regularly. Your private transfer greets you at Abel Santamaria Airport in Santa Clara and escorts you to a gorgeous accommodation. After dinner, you listen to the welcoming sounds of salsa enhancing the youthful ambiance of the city. Salsa rhythms creates an enticing beat, creating a jovial atmosphere that draws people effortlessly to the dance floor. The antique building looks seasoned from its years of use. Teenagers, students, and older couples twirl around the dance floor, happily moving to the captivating pulse that the live band creates.

This trip was well worth every penny. Zicasso's tour operator was amazing and paid attention to every last detail. Our drivers and guide were so good. They knew exactly what we needed and wanted, and made sure the trip was perfect every single day. I know this sounds like I am gushing and that it couldn't have been this good, but it truly was!

Our Zicasso travel expert did a great job making all of our arrangements and making changes as needed while we were in Cuba. Our local guide and driver were excellent. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, very patient, and so gracious. Our driver took good care of us too. The guest house in Havana was amazing. The guest house in Trinidad was mediocre. The guest house in Varadero was in a great location and just fine. We loved the itinerary. The activities were diverse, interesting, and fun. We could not believe the VIP treatment we received everywhere we went – the dance school, the cabaret venue, restaurants, etc.

What a wonderful trip! Zicasso's travel agent and her team were outstanding. The trip was well planned to visit the popular Cuban cities and towns, and included a personal trip to where my son's father was born. All the tours were great. Thank you to our guide and drivers! The accommodations, restaurants, and entertainment were terrific.

Cuba is a fascinating country. Zicasso's travel agent was honest and “real” from beginning to end. Having both an amazing tour guide and driver truly made the trip even better. We had a few hiccups that the tour guide, along with our agent, took care of immediately.
