Detailed Description

Croatia has recently become somewhat of Europe’s darling when it comes to the hottest emerging vacation destinations. This should come as no surprise because the country has a wealth of offerings to please any vacationer’s specific tastes. Speaking of tastes, that is exactly what this custom-tailored, one-week adventure celebrates: Croatia’s culinary treasures. From local wines and artisan cheeses to mouthwatering truffles and more, embarking on this exciting culinary excursion is sure to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Your gourmet getaway will begin in the beautiful, seaside enclave of Dubrovnik, where you will be provided with your first glimpse of Croatia’s stunning coast and the sparkling Adriatic Sea on an evening sunset dinner sail. You will then be whisked away on a full day’s wine tour of the picturesque Peljesac Peninsula.

Then, after spending the next day wandering around Dubrovnik’s Old City that is complete with its entirely-walled, pedestrian-only streets and iconic landmarks, you will enjoy island-hopping to nearby Lokrum Island. Upon touching foot on the shores of this truly special spot, you will admire the local sights and even indulge in a delicious and locally made dessert to end your day on a sweet note. The following morning, you will partake in an excursion to Konavle Valley, where you will be wined, dined, and regaled with fascinating facts, stories, and a plethora of myths that surround some of the region’s most notable delicacies.

The second half of your journey will find you attempting to taste your way through the culinary capital of Croatia in addition to its capital city of Zagreb. Upon your arrival, you will be able to explore the city’s iconic Upper Town along with Zagreb’s most famous landmark locales, including Dolac Market, Zagreb Cathedral, St. Mark’s Church, and more. You will end your evening with a private cooking class, which will include a master chef who will walk you step-by-step in whipping up a mouthwatering and authentic Croatian meal.

Your final day will be spent feasting on local wines and artisan cheeses while learning about the inner-workings of each, including a firsthand glimpse at just what goes into bringing these delicious delicacies from farm to table. As evening approaches, possibly the most thrilling excursion of your entire week awaits you as you embark on an exciting truffle hunt, which will be complete with headlamps, a professional guide, and sleuth-nosed canines.

After literally having your fill of Croatia’s absolute best culinary offerings, you will be entirely satisfied. In fact, you will most certainly be planning your return before even leaving Croatian soil and stepping foot on your return flight. Croatia Tour Review: Hvar, 9 Days

My trip, curated by Zicasso, was seamless. The travel specialist really listened to my wish list of places to see and things to do. The trip itinerary couldn't have been organized any better. It was so relaxing to have everything taken care of, including transportation. She suggested other options that may have been available. Free time to explore or relax was just the right amount for me. She was always available to assist if needed. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.

Croatia Vacation Review: Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split, Zagreb, Wine Tasting, Food Tour, 9 Nights

Zicasso's travel specialist, specifically Zicasso's travel agency, was fantastic! This travel specialist tailored our trip based on our conversations. She was thorough in her communications and provided us with excellent recommendations, along with top-notch arrangements.

We had one minor issue at our hotel, and she was quick to respond and successfully resolve it to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend this travel specialist for anyone traveling to Croatia and the surrounding area. When we return to Croatia, we will use her to help us plan another perfect trip! Thank you!!!

Croatia, Slovenia Vacation Review: Ljubljana, Rovinj, Lake Bled, Truffle Hunting, 1-Week Trip

We were very pleased with all the arrangements that Zicasso's travel specialist made for us. Everything went smoothly and her recommendations as we planned the trip were right on. We might have cut our time in Ljubljana short if she hadn't suggested we stay two nights, and what a mistake that might have been! She knows the area and was extremely helpful in helping us form our itinerary, and she kept in touch electronically during the week in case we needed anything or had any questions. We were impressed with her service!

All the drivers were prompt, pleasant, and careful drivers. The local guides were good. I must mention we especially appreciated our guide in Pula, a mine of information on the history! And our guide at Lake Bled; she was informative and personable, thinking even to bring snacks and hot tea for a cool morning hike!

Zicasso’s travel specialist created a memorable and nearly stress-free trip for us. I can’t recommend this travel specialist’s services highly enough. She made getting from place to place easy and the local guides she chose were terrific. We saw so many places we would not have known about if it weren’t for the travel specialist and enjoyed them so much more because of our local guides

Croatia 30th-Anniversary Trip Review: Dubrovnik, Split, Krka, Wine Tasting, Food Experience, 1 Week

I told Zicasso’s travel specialist that my husband and I enjoyed food, wine, and culture, and he delivered in spades.

We experienced several different types of wineries and food tours/meals—from market tours to small wine tastings and meals in family-run farms and seaside, seafood gems. We had no idea that Croatia was such a foodie haven!

We especially enjoyed the smaller towns and Krka. Our guides and our drivers were very knowledgeable about the area and history, and we learned a lot. Generally, we liked Dubrovnik better than Split, as Split seemed a little more geared toward younger partiers, but we did have some amazing meals there.

Overall, we had an incredible 30th-anniversary trip to Croatia and would definitely recommend Zicasso’s tour operator.
